  2. I wonder if he is still mad about the Dirty Birds beating the Vikings in the '98 NFCCG?
  3. Ya and making bank. The owner has little to do with a winning football teams. MOF they basically screw it up when they get involved. Great examples. Patriots Chuck Fairbanks, Parcells and Jerry Jones. Just writing Fairbanks name makes my blood boil. It amazes me the players he drafted and how the Sullivan's ran him out of town. Here's one draft that pops in my head that relates to this year and a possible trade down. 1977 draft Ray Clayborn 16th pick Stanley Morgan 25th pick He was a part time WR in college, played RB. He saw the talent. Greatest WR in Pats history. Receptions:557 Receiving yards:10,716 Yards per reception:19.2 Touchdowns:72 Insane numbers Here's two more Jags he drafted, John Hannah and Mike Haynes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADDED Now how many SB has Jones won after letting Jimmy Johnson go.
  4. Apparently - the media keeps talking about this. But there were no negative results from the medical. Could they have been two injuries that ended his season - that were just a fluke at a young age? Perfectly healthy in two years at Washington. Taking hits - still playing. Didn't seem to bother him when he recovered. Media also said he was slow then runs a 4.5 40 lol. High IQ and lethally accurate throwing the ball. Washington's right side of the line got absolutely beat up in the natty. Not entirely his fault. Honestly - I think his stock is much higher in NFL circles than what the media is led to believe or know. I think if the Vikings are smart - and Maye is off the board at 2 - they let someone else make the Daniels/McCarthy mistake and take Maye without giving up a future 1. I dont see Penix falling past the Seahawks at worst. I think if he's still there at 13- he'll be a Raider. Sadly I do believe Daniels and McCarthy will go ahead of him come draft night. I think Bo Nix is the guy that falls. Not saying for sure he's not going in round 1. I don't think he should - but Denver could really trade down and use more picks and still get Nix at say 22-25 range.
  5. Sorry but those who've watched Penix - the only thing I keep hearing is his injury history from 3 years ago - ignoring they may not even be relevant or something that hinders his career. Better prospect than Tua who got drafted top 5 with a hip replacement. Penix is #3 on my board behind only Williams and Maye. And I have Maye #2 based on upside/potential and that his flaws (footwork inconsistencies) are correctable in time. McCarthy is the toughest evaluation in my opinion. When he needed to throw the ball - dude would flat out drop a dime. Limited bc he ran the offense he was asked. The upside is there. It could go either way with him. I think at worst - he's an average QB - tier 2/3 - he's too smart not to carve out a career as a starter. But is he worth giving up multiple firsts? EHHHHHHHH - not entirely. I think anyone who takes Bo Nix or Jayden Daniels in round 1 is crazy. Just don't see the success. Oregon really made life easier for Nix. I keep thinking Kenny Pickett in Nix - maybe not even as good of a prospect. People can compare older prospects - but Nix and Pickett struggled and were healthy early on. Penix put Indiana on the map then got hurt as a true freshman. I somewhat compare Jayden Daniels to Tyrod Taylor - who knows if he even has Taylor's traits to stick around as a backup in the NFL long term though. Nix could be a late bloomer as a passer or he could be a long term backup like Chase Daniel. Either way - I wouldn't hedge my career as a GM or coach on either of the two. If the Commanders are smart - they take Maye and then draft a bunch of OL in rounds 2 and 3.
  6. I bet Bears get all the revenue from stadium from Bears games. City would tax this or that. Other events probably not. The 2B investment, if that is still on table for a stadium they don’t own, probably takes away any lease payments in perpetuity or for 50 years or something.
  7. Ya they're normally within range and have some solid alternatives to the round 1 selection. I didn't like their one prior where it has us converting Tyler Guyton to LG? Dude was raw as an OL - just can't see it as a first rounder. I think the Bucs will have a handful of players in mind for 26. - Both Centers/Guard prospects Jackson Powers Johnson and Graham Barton - Edge Rushers Latu and Chop Robinson (Jared Verse if he somehow slips) - Cooper Dejean - WR Brian Thomas (long shot) If somehow, someway, none of those guys are available - I think trading down is a real option. But I see one of those players a Buc after Thursday.
  8. City/State can make virtually anything legal if they really want to get something done. They may have to pass something. People have thrown up hurdles before. Friends of park. Wrigleyville threw up hurdles for years. Not sure what legal tools they used. Landmark laws I think, something like that.
  9. if they don't land a vet via trade, I am leaning to Thomas. I would prefer OL, but if they are that serious about getting a legit WR1, then if the trade doesn't happen, the draft will. I would prefer Fuatanu/Fuaga and then Frazier. Problem with this is, what if GP gets hurt or even IR'd? Who will catch passes or will the team just run that much more
  10. If the Steelers do go WR in the first then Thomas is who I would want.
  11. Personally, I like Latham more but I wouldn't mind Mims at all.
  12. for the longest time, the future has been set to be mediocre. totally agree. If we had Munchak I would have more patience with Moore, but as it is this is still a major need IMO (OT) . This coaching staff has wasted players (dotson) and have had way too much patience with others (Moore, mitch, kp, dionte, levi, patrick) see what happens this year. They better get a C or OT in the first 2 rounds, one of those has to be considered a major need
  13. The hype/draft process before Thursday is near an end. Now its time to cover the final Mock from yours' truly \ Top needs: 1. Edge Rusher 2. LG 3. C 4. WR (depth/future starter) 5. RB (Good #2 behind White) 6. CB (Dean may not be back next year. Depth and developmental player is needed) 7. DT (Hall needs to step up. Bucs kept some key guys to rotate at that spot though). 8. TE (Otton has his moments but is not the ideal starter. Weak class) 9. ILB (while Bowles sees this as importance - Britt showed promise down the line and Dennis has a ton of talent to take over next to David. This class lacks depth and talent so not ideal to reach). 10. Back up QB with tools: Trask is Trash and is probably not even a #2 QB on most rosters. So lets begin: 1st Round: Laitu Latu Edge UCLA : this is risky but reading further : Jimmy Lake shut him down after talking to specialists. When Latu sought medical opinion - he was cleared. I have not heard anything from the combine that said otherwise - unless it comes out this week so he falls to us. I'm sure the Bucs did there Homework which they're getting an NFL ready now edge rusher. Dude is a beast and technician with hands. 2nd Round: Zach Frazier C West Virginia : I think the Bucs really focus on the trenches. This is where games are won and lost and it won't surprise me to get the second best pure center in the draft here. Frazier is an animal and would fit right in. 3rd Round: Zak Zinter G Michigan: If not for the broken leg - he would be a 2nd rounder in my opinion. Dude is a straight up mauler in the run game and does not have to play right away. He should be healthy for the fall - but long term, I think he's an 8-10 year starter inside. May not be elite but won't be a hinderance or complaint. 3rd Round via Detroit: Ruke Orhorhoro DT Clemson : Logan hall is entering his 3rd year - usually a make or break season for a DT. Orhorhoro is a sound fit to push for reps mid-way through the year. Very good run defender who will add value in the rotation up front. 4th Round: Malik Washington WR Virginia : Under the radar player that might go before our pick but I'm slotting him here. Excellent speed, route running ability. May not contribute right away but long term replacement for Godwin. 6th Round: MJ Devonshire CB Pitt: We've tapped into Pitt on the defensive end recently. Devonshire has the raw athleticism to develop behind Dean long term. Could/should contribute on special teams. 7th Round: Dillon Johnson RB Washington: I'm a bit shocked this guy isn't higher on most boards. Physical down hill runner with very good vision and breakaway ability. Didn't test well at the combine - but the film speaks for itself. He's a good football player.

  15. It's kind of weird to think about, because she's such an "A List" actress in the general sense. But it actually is really hard to think of a movie where i've thought, "this was really great". She's pretty good at playing a certain type of "character". She's rarely just outrageously bad. But never great either. Like...her best performance might legitimately be "Don Jon". Or potentially "Her" which is weird considering her whole thing is how hot she is, and she's just a voice. But i feel like her voice is also part of the whole ~mystique~ around her anyway. She was as good in the Avengers things as anyone can be in that context. But yeah...that's weird to think about... On that note too though...I feel like Sydney Sweeney is tracking as the GenZ version of Millennial Scarlett Johansson.
  16. Heck yeah, paper boarding passes. I usually just use the million kiosks at the airport to check in and print my boarding passes. Then i've got 'em in paper so as long as i don't lose my bag or pants...i've got my passes. Phones do weird stuff and die and get screwy with the scanners sometimes. idk. I just always like to have a hardcopy of everything because i'm old i guess. And i find it a lot more convenient. Especially when going through security and you've got like 5 bins filled with multiple laptops that they're messing with and asking you about and belts and jackets and keys and whatever it's gots in it's pockets including that phone and wallet and everything. Or at smaller airports, it's fun to get like...very personal service. Feels fancy. Even though it's not. But i'm also an early airport enjoyer. Partially just because i love the smell of jet fuel in the morning. It smells like adventure and excitement! Plus people watching in airports is fun. But also because it's one of those things where if you're too early...you can just go to an airport bar or wander around the terminal and look at stuff and watch planes and stuff. If you're late, you're kinda screwed. The one time i was "not early enough" was the most infuriating thing. Left plenty early but got caught up in a stupid mess getting to the airport. So an hour and a half or so later than intended, arrived with still plenty of time to spare and literally no line at security or anything. That's where i learned about the benefit of checking in early online. I would've easily made my flight but the system locks out check-in at a certain point. Though the flip side of that is...if i'd checked-in early and not made my flight, i wouldn't have been fully refunded and able to just fly home a bit later that day on a different airline. So...Pros and Cons. But probably depends entirely on the specific airline and context. The shoes thing is hilarious. I've only ever had to do it once. And it was apparently specifically because i have "over the ankle" boots on. Which, i'm not entirely sure how they could've known for sure. But i've also flown tons of other times with full height boots including the exact same pair, and never been hassled about it at all. So lol. They definitely just make stuff up. Follow the rules for carry-on fluids and all that weird stuff though and it'll just be a weird mild nuisance at worst. And maybe even an anecdote later. I used to do this and sometimes had weird ear stuff as a kid. That was my mom's "trick" to fix it. But rarely worked. Somewhere along the line, i just grew out of it i guess. But also realized that it's not so much a "chewing" motion that equalizes the pressure. It's more like a "yawn". lol. That'll fix it pretty much every time. And without having to really chomp like crazy on that gum too.
  17. 1-20 Troy Faunatu LT 2-51 Zach Frazier OC 3-84 Jalen McMillan WR 3-98 Mason Smith DL 4-119 Jarrian Jones CB 6-178 Joe Milton QB 6-195 Tommy Eichenberg LB Bonus OL Barton Bonus NT Sweat Bonus WR Corley Milton to us, see above
  18. Thanks, man - really appreciated your input and thoughts throughout the draft process. I was still tweaking the list as I was posting, but you have to just settle on a final draft at some point. Like you said, the quality really flattens out once you're past a certain point. Love Puni, don't know why he isn't talked about more - looks like a really clean, versatile prospect to me.
  19. I really don't want to feed the machine generated question here...but for the purposes of this thread, i think i will. It is not able to generate new and novel ideas intelligently. It's simply resynthesizing whatever it's fed on, to a lowest common denominator sort of level. Real intelligence is the ability to apply completely unique, radical, atypical or non-linear approaches from completely separate aspects of life to problem solving. Not to chew up and regurgitate a dataset in condensed form like an owl feeding it's chick pellets of baby bull****. Real intelligence is inherently creative and curious. Artificial intelligence is formulaic and relies entirely on contributions from "real intelligence" to "learn". Quite simply...AI has to "ask" a stupid question like this about the difference between "Real Intelligence" and "Artificial Intelligence". That's all it can do. It's that, or feed it a bunch of text and maybe it formulates something half coherent out of the thoughts of thousands of actually intelligent people's thoughts. With the way most AI is fed, probably thousand of completely imbeciles thoughts mixed in as well.
  20. Lakers are cooked. They can’t win. Lebron and Russell are blaming the refs when they’ve lost 10 straight to the Nuggets.
  21. Wilson is 50/50 to break out?!?! Never say never of course, but I’d put it around 5/95 to break out man 😁 Aidan O’Connell has more chance to ‘break out’ so it’s not a move we should have made imho.
