You've spent most of your life with hope and realistic hope at that. You saw the Steelers make 3 Super Bowls and win 2 and that was without a doubt to having a reliable star Quarterback!!!! You don't know, can't comprehend how us old guys had to suffer... you have no clue how much we had to struggle with Bubby Brister, Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, Neil Odonnell, Jim Miller and Mark Malone. To have great defenses year after year and get Oh so clo

  6. Yeah cause nobody thought Friedman was any good till a couple years ago. Nope. Anyway has nothing to do with Friedman anyway, any GM/POBO who did this would be lauded, because it's a good move. The Dodgers got an ace level SP for a pennant run for spare parts.

  13. It's only a matter of time before London wanders into the new forum from across the pond. With that in mind, I'll start this. Final predictions due in between the third and fourth preseason game if you want to participate in the competition. Offense QB-2 This one's easy. Dalton starts. McCarron backs up. Driskell to the practice squad (unless a plethora of injuries happen between now and the end of preseason) RB-4 Mixon, Bernard, and Hill for sure. Whoever comes off of PUP first between Peerman and Wilson gets the nod here. the, other may stay there until

  14. Apparently this happened two weeks ago and we've just found out. Obviously a really terrible start to his career and can only hope for the best. Particularly unfortunate given just how healthy the Seahawks seemingly looked heading into camp. What were the expectations for him heading into the year and what kind of damage does this do to the Seahawks depth up front? I've seen timetables that say he could be back for the opener or that he may miss all season.

  15. Surprised nobody made a post about this yet. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/07/30/george-iloka-carted-off-after-non-contact-knee-injury/ Looks like they dodged a bullet here, as it doesn't appear to be serious. It should be noted that Derron Smith also got not long after this happened. No word on his injury yet. It seems now the Bengals are a tad bit thin at S, with Iloka, Smith and Brandon Wilson all injured. Any chance we see Josh Shaw get some playing time at S this preseason, or maybe they go out to sign another undrafted rookie?

For the sake of the discussion, we'll just assume everyone plays all 16 games. For reference points, here are NFL.com's QB projections with separate tabs for every other position group. I'll include the NFL.com predictions and my take of them. Feel free to share your projections or any other lists you can find. Marcus Mariota - 4,213 yards, 29 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 316 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns. My take: I'd take these numbers in a he

  24. Some recent ones that come to mind...some not the GREATEST but certainly stand out: Mike Vick vs Redskins MNF 2010 during his renaissance year, on another level Calvin Johnson's 329 yd game against the Cowboys Odell Beckham rookie year vs Redskins, 12/143/3 in his 10th career game Ben Roethlisberger's 6 TDs against the Colts in 2014 Luke Kuechly's 24 tackles against the Saints in 2013 Deangelo Hall's 4 interceptions of Jay Cutler Osi Umenyiora's 6 sacks against the Eagles in 2007 Tom Brady vs Titans in the snow, 5 TD passes in 2nd quarter...

  25. I disagree. I think because he didn't have eye-popping numbers that people think he had a "down" year last year. But, I think if you'd let him walk, you'd see a dramatic effect on the defense, because he takes the attention away from other players on the defense and allows them to make plays. Kendricks is really important to the defense, but Barr is even more important than that. Kendricks isn't Kendricks without Barr playing next to him. As far as the order goes on defensive players getting extensions, for me, it'd go: Linval Joseph Anthony Barr Eric Kendricks Daniell

  28. There’s some early buzz after last nights practice about Taquan Mizzel and Tim White. Now I just need to hear some positive review on Ricky Ortiz. I hope especially White can come in and be that elusive #4 #5 receiver who can make some yards after catch like a Campanaro was supposed to be. Mizzel could be a nice alternative if Woodhead went down, and when both him and White have some return ability, it might be worth giving them a chance when Campanaro can’t seem to stay healthy and Reynolds still muffs punts.

  31. Jeremy Hill's touchdown numbers are going to go way down. He's sucked for two years now, but covers some of that up with ~10 TDs/year. Not this year. If he gets 4, i'll be amazed. We've also seen Geno Atkins start to slow down in recent years. I think we'll see a little more decline. Not a ton, but just a little. He'll remain quite serviceable and a key piece on the line for another few years. I also think we're going to see a little bigger cliff for Adam Jones this year. He's been one of the better corners in the NFL the last few years. But he's getting up there in age. I s

  36. I don't think it even means that. it just means Hopkins got first crack at playing time against Geno. And it was in shorts. Westerman no doubt gets a couple of shots at it too.

  38. They asked Garrett to almost exclusively (so I'm told) rush the edge from the outside and not to come inside the tackle. If that is true then we need to see what he can do in that area because we wouldn't spend the #1 pick on a one trick pony. Very few have long term success beating opponents with one move, although the speed rush alone has worked for some freak players in the past it isn't the best case scenario to just have that attribute. Garrett hopefully shows he has much more than that. His speed rush is another level than Bosa's but just from what I saw, no matter if Garret

  40. He's 24 years old, he doesnt need to be the most perfect completely polished player for this to be a good deal for the Chargers. QB's take more time than any position to develop lets not jump the gun on Cardales career arc.

  41. He was good enough, never lost in college. He wasn't great (was in 2014) and probably never will be but he wasn't Stanley Jackson either. Only 1 game under a 100 rating (with 3 or more pass attempts) JT is at 3 consecutive. Turns out that Braxton was probably the best of the bunch but I'd put Cardale at #2 because JT's highs aren't worth the lows because when he is bad he is the worst. Cardale at least is an NFL prospect as a QB because of his physical abilities, Braxton and JT can't say that.
