  1. If Rodgers didn't get injured I doubt people would call that hit illegal.

  2. I don't see the point anyway. You can play basic coverages and zone from a 3-4 if that's what @HorizontoZenith means. 3-4 vs 4-3 means next to nothing in today's NFL. If the point is to play Clay in a more stand up LB role, that doesn't have to do with 3-4 or 4-3. Dom can easily call plays and game plan for Clay to be upright and focused on the run/coverage rather than the run/rush. To me, the task of the defense is 2 pronged: 1) You have a front 7 (more like front 6, but I'll stick with normal terminology for now) which has the majority of our quality players: Clark, Daniels

  4. It isn't fun to watch your playoff chances diminish substantially as #12 is carted off to the locker room and the x-ray machine. Barr really didn't have to tackle him. I'm certain he realized Rodgers didn't have the ball but saw an opportunity to get a hit on the QB and knew he could do it without getting flagged. I'm not saying he wanted to injure Rodgers but everybody knows QBs don't like to be hit and it gives them happy feet. Getting Rodgers antsy back there and worried about pressure instead of his progressions increases the chances of GB's opponent winning that particular game. Ever

  7. Welcome to TITANS week! Where Sashi and Paul are always on iceberg watch First of all, screw you guys for taking the earlier weeks! It's hard to get up for this thing when you feel like... The Texans beat us like... Yet, I persevere, finding the bright side of life. Or at least a death-defying blood-alcohol level. So...The Titans ...mythical monsters or a football team, doesn't matter They have no QB and an average defense, so we should get thoroughly crushed. The only plus on our team has been the run-defense, which

  8. It's definitely inconsistent and skewed towards offense; not only DB play but holding calls (or the lack thereof) in the trenches as well. I'm with ya 100% agree You mean Xs and Os instead of feel-good stories and too much coverage of 'heros / villains'? Agreed. Meh, he's just the avatar of the owner, I think we as fans give him too much flak for stuff like rule changes and player punishments, when it's more the collective owners' fault.

  9. God....please dont turn this into the crap show known as the NBA. This is a team driven sport. Ratings are down partly because of over-saturation. It used to be Sunday football. Then they added Monday night football. Then they added Saturday football. Then Thursdays.... Add into that the fact that today's game average fan has their face stuck in a cell phone and is more interested in tweeting and being followed on the internet rather than truly following the game, gives you the decline you see. Lets not forget that fans are more concerned for their fantasy team than they are

  10. VD posted it, and provided a picture to show how things occurred. What do you want the refs to say? "Illegal hitting/injuring of star player. 15 yard penalty." The only reason you think its an illegal hit is because the player that got hurt is the 2nd best player at his position and because he plays for your favorite team. Its subjective and honestly stupid. Get over it.

  11. Lol at the two lone Packers fans still trying to argue that it was an illegal hit. Literal interpretation of the rule and all, Barr made a clean tackle on Rodgers. If this was in the pocket it's a different story. But Rodgers, in his typical and usually amazing fashion, made this throw on the run outside the locket. Barr was running after Rodgers. Rodgers didn't stop and get in a throwing stance, then throw. How can you expect Barr to stop at any point in that play? He was already in the process of going to hit Rodgers. He could have changed direction and hit low, a la Bernard Pollard.

  13. Welcome to the regular NFL where you don't get 20 plus years of zero injuries to your most important player. Barr didn't do anything we haven't seen a million times in the NFL. QB makes a throw and gets his immediately afterwards. No intent to injure but definitely an intent to throw the QB off his game on the next pass or set of downs. Rodgers has been protected for years by those wearing the zebra costumes and it's cost Dallas, Seattle, Minnesota, Detroit, and Chicago wins. Life goes on. If Thompson is as great as Packer fans think he is the rest of their roster won't miss a beat and the Pac

  14. I was heated last night, no less heated today but here are my thoughts on that atrocity: - This team was not coached up or ready for this game. I genuinely think they looked at this matchup and thought the Giants would lay down. I would bet the farm they didn't have any belief Sullivan would take over playcalling duties and that clearly caused a bit of a wrinkle in their gameplanning. Absolutely not a good look. That falls squarely on Vance, McCoy and Joe Woods. Simply a pathetic display and one that needs to be corrected immediately. I understand Vance is a rookie HC, but I will say, con

  16. Rodgers got tackled. He got injured. It happens. There's nothing there resembling anything remotely close to a malicious, dirty, or intent to injure type of play. Suck it up Packer fans. Life goes on.

  17. I just did a simulation of the whole season for the NFC North to see what my gut feeling told me about our playoff chances. This was the result doing a best case scenario (I'm an optimist regardless of how I may or may not look during Game Threads): Packers: 10 wins (vs Lions, at Bears, vs Ravens, vs Bucs, at Browns, vs Vikings). The big ones here are Week 9 and 16. Week 9 will give us hope or bury us and if all goes well, Week 16 will decide our fate. Vikings: 9 wins (vs Ravens, at Browns, at Lions, vs Bengals, vs Bears). The losses are tough games (at Redskins, vs Rams, at Falcon

  22. The tape/film says orherwise. I knew you’d disagree w/o actually knowing but that doesn’t change the fact that right now he’s playing the best. Cooley said it, I’m sure you’re dismiss that too as him being a homer but I could frankly care less. He’s playing amazing. You can’t point to anything he’s really done horribly this year but you can find 5 to 10 plays where he’s made amazing plays and I’ve posted them. He had another decleater on a running play against the 49ers ILB yesterday also.

  23. I have to say, regardless of this result I'm pretty happy with what Ive seen from a "tanking" team We lack our best WR allegedly I Enunwa and have a 38yr old journeyman QB. There is so much hope. A young roster, gobs of cap space and a team that is showing a lot. FA's may actually want to play here next year which means those few pieces we need aren't a far cry. The only disappointing thing is its the same damn things we always say we need. A pass rush and a QB. I'm hopeful at some point this year Petty or Hack could come in and show they can take the helm next season and do wel

  25. I think it Hogan was a sacrificial lamb like you said. It allowed him to demonstrate to those clamoring for Hogan that he is overmatched, and is not a starting QB in the league. It also showed Kizer that he is not the reason the team is struggling, and it gave Kizer a minute to catch his breath.

  26. For the first and last time in my life I think I'll ever say this, the defense was amazing in that 52-38 game lol. Really though, I'm so impressed with this young defense. The old Saints D would've faltered after the couple of 3rd quarter TDs, or the O/ST giving up the pick 6 and punt return TD. Could've easily crumbled under that pressure but they shut the Lions down the entire 4th quarter. Not to mention the 21 points scored by themselves. That was the most defensive 90 point game I think we'll ever see.

  28. Lets call it what it was... Saints came out on ? and began handing it to the Lions. Went as far as showing up the opponent by taking fake photos and crap in thr middle of the field on defense. Went to the lockerooom feeling themselves and came out coasting in the 2nd half. Meanwhile the Lions came out determined and looking for payback (especially their offense). They caught a young Saints team thats still learning how to win on cruise control. The Lions smacked the Saints back into realiaty then put them on skates as the idea of blowing a 45-10 lead started to set in. Momentum was

  32. I'm going to do my best to maintain my composure here and not get banned but suffice to say, here we go. -This was a sickening display. -The team played totally and completely uninspired. This isn't college where Alabama can play Abilene Christian and have to do nothing more than show up to get a win. This is the NF-freaking-L. The Giants, wounded as they are, are a proud franchise with a HOF QB that are fighting for their lives. -Not showing up is on the players, the coaches, the Front Office. -Every unit, every player, every coach deserves blame. This reminds me of th

  33. In more good news, Tyreek HIll was deemed to NOT have received a concussion on that late play. So despite the short week, he'll presumably play on Thursday. So we lost a game against the team in the league we play by far the worst in, with no major injuries, and no regression in the standings. I will take that.

  34. Another outstanding game from Lattimore this week. I don't think I've ever seen a rookie CB being able to stick to WR's as well as he does in man coverage. He's going to be a great player for the Saints if he stays healthy

  35. As some have said, bad calls happen all the time. Rarely do they get this kind of attention (see: Titans/Dolphins from last week). The NFL has a clear officiating problem and it has a real affect on at least one or two games every single week. What baffles me more than the terrible call and rule is the idea that they somehow looked at the play and decided there was enough to somehow overturn the call on the field. I can almost accept a bad judgement call or strict interpretation of a terrible rule if it happens live. Overturning it after it's correctly called is just beyond me.

  36. I'm not calling for him to start, but he is the best QB on our roster he just has the least ability. Yeah we didn't get 1st downs, only 34% of his passes went for a first down last season, but better than Kizer (25%) and Hogan (28%) have done this year. In 34 more pass attempts Kizer/Hogan have 1 more passing TD than Kessler had last year and 12 more interceptions. But those are just stats and stats don't tell the whole story. It is just a huge coincidence that the best players of all time also have the best stats.

  39. This is why nfl is unwatchable. Bunch of babies crying about the very letter of the rule not being followed and breaking down the rules sentence by sentence instead of the intent of the rule. Like holy crap are we realling arguing that he pushing on foot while falling foward is a driving someone to the ground. Good lord the fact that the nfl listen to fans is mind boggling.
