  2. I disagree that this team would have won more games with Keenum than with Cousins. This team has lived, and died, on the arm of Cousins. Yes, he’s had some turnovers that have hurt us in losses, but he’s also made plays to help us win that Keenum is just not capable of doing. Not to mention, one of the biggest reasons for Keenum’s success last year was Shurmur’s ability to hide/limit Keenum’s deficiencies, while playing to his strengths. Plus, having a legitimate run game made things a lot easier for Keenum. None of which DeFilippo has been able to show he’s capable of accomplishin

  4. First of all, the sooner that the Redskins fanbase (and forum) stop treating this like it was a mistake, the sooner we can all start moving forward together. Not trading him earlier when we could get something for him was a mistake. That’s fair. Trading for Smith to replace him appears to have been a mistake. That’s fair. Determining that he wasn’t worth a monstrous mega-deal that would have paid him like an elite QB was not a mistake. It’s one of the few things they’ve done right, actually — the easy thing to do would’ve been to just pay him, but they correctly determined he wasn't wort

  5. If there's one thing that I've seen over the years, when someone says it's 100% someone's fault it usually isn't. I only watched the first half of the Vikings/Seahawks game, but I'm not sure how you can put that loss completely at DeFilippo's fault. How many times did the Seahawks' DL contact the RB in the backfield? Way too many to count. How many WTF moments did we see out of Kirk Cousins? There's enough blame to go around.

  9. I can't wait for this one. I was out in London on Saturday with some super cool NFL buddies. I believe I stole the show in the club taking off my Browns Christmas sweater to reveal a Myles Garrett color rush jersey. Yeah ladies, run for your life. The sack machine is coming. They did run too

  10. It’s not so much the personnel decisions. It’s not so much his record as a head coach. It’s not so much the injuries we have had. It is the fact that he is absolutely terrible at adjustments. It is the fact he is terrible at time management. It is the fact that he cannot command the team as a leader. It is the fact he has not reprimanded his staff for terrible performances. It is the fact that he continues to say “his team is trying,” when they lay big eggs against good and bad teams. I have been a big Jay Gruden supporter. I do think he can be successful as a head coach. I am absolu

  12. If you are holding this season against Rodgers then its only fair if people hold 2012, 2013 and 2014 against Brady since his stats were worse then Rodgers this year. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BradTo00.htm

  14. This takes me back to something that was written way back in January when the coaching carousel was spinning fast and furious. DeFillippo was a very hot name at the time but there was some interesting information reported about his interview with the Bears -- specifically that he didn't come across as the rockstar that everyone was proclaiming. Here are the specific comments: "John DeFilippo’s interview was underwhelming. And that’s being kind. The Bears found him to be green and, beyond that, doubted his ability to build a competitive staff. When Peter Schrager reported that Flip was wil

  16. I think you're being too tough on your own team. One of (note I said one of) the best defensive performances I've seen this season was the Ravens holding the Steelers Offense to zero points in the second half of their first game. KC was limited to 7 points at home in the 2nd half, and that took a wtf throw from Maholmes to TyFreak to setup. Chicago and Baltimore are great defenses. Dallas might be in that conversation as well...

  17. I think Stefanski is a lot more cute than Flip. If we have learned one thing, being handsome is a key component to success in the NFL. Do you think Tom Brady wins 5 Super Bowls if he looks like any of us? Nope.

Does anyone believe Gruden? Mark Davis' silence is deafening right now. Its fine that we moved in a different direction, but this charade is a load of bull. I'm sick of the facades. How can you lead a franchise without a spine? One of Mark or Gruden need one, and it appears neither does.

  23. I put an asterisk next to the teams that I think will absolutely (95% or more) be 5-11 or worse. There are only 4 such teams, so I guess technically there’s a chance for us to be top 5 if everything breaks our way. This coming weekend, we’ll be rooting hardest for Buffalo (over Detroit), Atlanta (over Arizona), Cincinnati (over Oakland), and of course Jacksonville.

  24. It’s surprisingly easy to figure out, because (as of now at least) our schedule strength is weaker than the rest of the bottom-half teams in the league. So we would pick ahead of anyone with the same record as us — meaning as long as we lose out, we just need teams to make it to 6-10 in order to leapfrog them. Teams by how many they need to win to get to 6-10 (with their remaining schedule): Must Win All 3 Games 49ers*: SEA, CHI, @LAR Cardinals*: @ATL, LAR, @SEA Raiders*: @CIN, DEN, @KC Must Win 2 Games Jaguars: WAS, @MIA, @HOU Jets*: HOU, GB, @NE

  25. I got some great kids every so often. For years I used this pirate ship to top my Christmas tree. Well the kids were playing with it last year, let the baby near it and it got destroyed. Today, to my surprise. They had picked up this foam one from some store while carpooling home and put it together so a pirate ship can yet again dawn our tree.

Coming off another great win that has The Team, The City and Fans feeling like this The Browns are proving they have taken another step up to another rung on the NFL ladder and the entire league is looking at Cleveland for 2019 and beyond like Everyone is feeling good about themselves and the team. It is good to have some swagger for a change. Jarvis Landry and Baker Mayfield will be walking into Mile High like kings In order to keep the good vibes and our slim playoff chances alive the Browns will have to map out a game plan that works around these key mat

  27. This is where you're most definitely wrong. MM has gotten plenty of kudos from other OC's over the years including McVay a few weeks ago. Mike Martz wrote an article in SI detailing a few of MM's offensive innovations that he thought were fantastic, calling him one of the top 3 offensive minds in the league. Andy Benoit at SI just did another one debunking the meme that the offense was stale or that it was mostly responsible for the current woes. Anybody with half a brain and proper motivation can find this stuff - if they are so inclined. Tom Silverstein wrote a lengthy article entitle

  33. Rodgers suffered an injury that he was going to come back from the same season. He didn’t suffer an injury that MANY thought was career ending. Had Bridgewater simply torn his ACL, I don’t believe we would have seen the trade, but it wasn’t that simple. And it’s easy for fans to say that they value draft capital over everything else, because you’ve got nothing to lose. You can’t be fired. How many people in the Packers’ organization lost their jobs because of their decision to stick with Hundley? I wonder if they share your thoughts?

  34. Glad to see that you are able to completely judge a RB by 23 carries? You might look into playing the lottery more often. I think there is no way to establish how a player is going to be with this minimal use, let alone the inability of Warhop to coach an OL, or a HC like Koetter who tries to play a back that is a one cut back in Jones and try to run downhill which works for a player like Barber at least to pick up a couple yards here and there and can burst the long one. Which who knows if Jones could because again 23 carries.... in a season. Also, I don't know if it was Aumen or Cum

  35. Last ditch effort to hold on to that 6th seed. The offense may be a bit more unpredictable for a few games, but that O-line is still going to be a big problem. There's only so much you can do to scheme around poor blocking. It speaks volumes that Shurmur wanted to interview Ski for his OC in NY. Hopefully he can breathe some life back into the offense.

  41. Whether we "like" LaFleur or not... I trust the FO won't respond with a knee jerk reaction. He and the rest of the offense have gone through growing pains, but there is enough good, and marked improvement as the season has wore on. If Mariota has any chance to turning the corner... he needs consistency at the OC position. He's still only 25... it's crucial he gets some consistency at that OC position.
