  11. Here's some further information for us to consider as this threat is supposed to be one that examines the franchise from the strategic perspective, not the tactical or operational. According to Spotrac, we go into the 2020 offseason with just a hair over $70m in cap space. That figure is obtained by subtracting the active contracts amount ($146m) from the projected adjusted 2020 cap ($216m). From the table, we can see there are two contracts we can get out of that would offer significant cap savings. Joe Flacco: $23.6m cap hit, $13.6m dead money = savings of $10m Ron L

  12. The front office had Ramczyk higher on their board. It was Mike McCoy, fired six months later, who pounded the table for Garett. Maybe not let terrible coaches pick your players.

  13. He liked Bolles because he thought his body and attitude were NFL ready, and Elway believed we were contenders needing a NFL ready guy. It was always a horribly, horrible pick. Bolles was like 25 and barely knew how to play the game. Its like Elway assumed a higher age meant more NFL ready. It was stupid. The trajectory of this entire organization would have been different if we signed Whitworth and drafted Ram or Rob. We would be in a much, much better place right now.

  16. I operate under the assumption that we would have totally messed them up anyway. We draft Mahomes and throw him out there before he's ready on that 0-16 team, he probably gets happy feet, doesn't fix his mechanics, and turns into athletic Jay Cutler.

  17. As a Chiefs fan, I'd agree. But I'll also add, if Mahomes wasn't as talented as he is, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Matt Moore, after four games, would project to a 2,637yds and 16 TD season. In Alex's MVP like 2017 season, he put up 4,042yds and 26 TD. In Mahomes actual MVP season it was 5,000+yds and 50 TD. Just a small difference between him and the other two.

  20. I think Richard’s hands are more reliable as a pass catcher than Jacobs at this point. Understandable why he gets the call on spots like this. Not sure about giving him carries though

  21. Maybe this is lame but I'm already excited for next year. Carr and Gruden more comfortable. More experience for the young guys. Reinforcements on D and at WR. 3 year turnaround would be dope.

  23. What about Jim Caldwell? I think he would check a lot of boxes. Respected experienced leader who turned Detroit around. Good offensive mind wouldn’t demand to call his own plays. I think that should be mandatory for our next hire unless they’re some elite coach who can handle it. We can’t have a coach calling plays anymore.

  26. The thumb injury is a 4-6 week injury. Think Brees timeline. Unless there’s another injury it’s pure spin. The “not being ready” angle is entirely fair. It’s a lot to ask a guy to be a backup without even getting scout team reps. But it’s also why it’s a no brainer to start getting him into practice reps too. He’s not going to learn sitting out of practice. I totally understand they couldn’t get him on the field with Allen needing to take over. But cutting a guy we sit on Sundays to start his time practicing after this bye week (since we aren’t actually practicing)

  27. So you're saying that we should design the offense as if our 2nd year QB is actually a 2nd year QB? Fascinating... It's crazy that we don't give Baker easy completions to get his rhythm going and flowing. Flow can be established even with deep shots as it let's the QB let it go and energizes the offense and threatens the defense. The entirety of the Eagles, Chiefs, and Patriots offenses are about designing Easy completions to give the offense some momentum building and rhythm. Flow is real. Natural ability and talent take over when the flow is going. Our offense has not pa

  28. everyone thought we overpaid him, which we did for last year giving him 35 million. This year he is making 19 million and will make 25m for the remaining years on his deal. I would say that is a good deal for us. I expect him to get restructured this offseason too. He has no signing bonus right now. I expect we will give him one to create space to sign kittle, sanders, buckner to deals

  29. Josh McDaniels has absolutely zero people skills and brings a "my way or the highway" approach. McDaniels and personalities in the Cleveland locker room would be a train wreck for the ages.

  30. There were so many people here who said Dwight Howard wouldn't fit into his role, he wouldn't be impacful, he's going to demand more touches than he should get, etc. None of that has been the case. The guy is getting his offensive production in the flow of the game, being extremely efficient when he does get his chances and he's been there as a rebounder and defender when he's on the floor. Everyone is fitting into their roles like a glove.

  31. Garrett Bolles has given up 15 pressures since Week 7. The next highest on the DEN team? 5. FIVE. Garrett Bolles has given up 11 penalties in 9 weeks of play. Only 5 have been accepted. Garrett Bolles is 27. Bolles has shown literally zero progress since his rookie year. And this is with a coaching staff that has seen progress with almost everyone else this year, and a HoF worth OL coach brought in specifically for Bolles & the OL's development. Then you add in the 2020 market for T's. There are 4-6 T's being discussed as going in Rd1, and certainly will like

  34. I agree with Alexander. I’d also try and bring back Waynes or Rhodes. Might be easier just to hang onto Rhodes and try to get him to take a pay cut. I’m afraid Waynes might get too costly and he’s an average player. I guess I’d rather have Rhodes at $8-10 m per year with little long term commitment than Waynes at $14m with more guaranteed money. I frankly don’t think either are ideal starters, not sure Hughes or Hill can be better than either but I think it’s worth a try. Harris shouldn’t be too difficult to resign. The Safety market is usually inexpensive and I don’t think Harris has si

  35. Taking advantage of terrible defenses? Seems like an odd time to make that statement when Jackson just led his team to a win against an undefeated Patriots team that has an elite defense that was allowing 5 points per game through the first 8 games of the season. Jackson led the Ravens to 37 points against a defense that averaged 5 points allowed per game..

  36. The message wears when you lose, DO YOUR JOB and it will be all fun. The Patriots do it, the Steelers do it, I'm just not for pacifying these guys, plus nothing wrong with tough talk if you have a unified locker room who can back it up. Just my take

Funny story: This summer I was told that if the Cowboys wanted Cam, it would cost Dak, Jaylon Smith, 2 first round picks and a mid rounder. It might have been the most delusional Panther fan on planet earth.

  39. Close match. I can see why this one was tied. I’m going with ICBR here for the tie breaker. Both QBs will be under pressure and both have some good matchups in pass catching. I think IC has the better run game and the better overall pass rush. Being at home, this gives Daniel Jones better opportunities than Kyler.

  40. Let the Ryan Finley Era Commence. Your future QB for the next ten seasons and Top 10 QB. Dead serious. I’m actually not expecting too much from him this game. 220 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, and a close loss like 24-20. However Week 11 and onwards, I promise you Bengal fans, Finley is gonna set the league on fire. He’ll destroy the Raider secondary, although a close loss. He’ll look above-average against the Steelers and win. He’ll destroy the Jets and win. He’ll destroy the Browns and win on the road. He’ll obliterate the Dolphins in a 4 TD 350+ yard massacr

  41. I'm not sure that's the case Spanos always had LA in his back pocket and he negotiated from that POV, despite his protests to the contrary Spanos burned through 3 mayors during this saga, the one constant was the Spanos family. Hiring Fabiani was a bad move if you actually wanted to get something done because all Fabiani did was agitate. Contrast that with the current environment in San Diego: In a very short period of time, SDSU is gonna build a brand new stadium in Mission Valley. One reason for that success is because Spanos and Fabiani aren't involved. the City isn't blameless

  43. I change signature pics after every loss. Kate Mara got us on a 4-game winning streak but she couldn't get us the win in KC. I decided it's time to pull out one of my big guns for a big game on the road this week. As far as I'm concerned, my Jessica Alba is better than any "kitten" they come up with. We've got this one, gents.

  44. I find this comment hilarious because good business people do not make decisions based on sunk costs. The money being paid to foles is a sunk cost, and should not be used to evaluate future decisions. Its called the marginals principle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_cost Starting foles is the right decision, but not because of the money. Its because today, at this moment of time, he gives them the best chance to win.
