Honestly, I don't have a ton of interest in moving down from 13. Before the picks roll off the board, there I think that there is a chance that there's a decent difference in the players available from between 13 and like 17. I'd much rather move down from like 31 to 41, where the difference is going to be considerably more narrow in my view, and pick up a third round pick for that. That's really all we need. We don't need multiple picks. If we trade out of 31 for a 2 + 3, we have a 1 (13th), 2, 3 and 2 #5s. I think thats fine. We really aren't missing much without a 4. So I want to keep the higher pick at 13 with the talent available there.

The Raiders were 29th in Defensive DVOA in 2017. So was Mack not worth the contract the Bears gave him? In 2013, the Texans finished 18th in Defensive DVOA. So was JJ Watt not worth being the highest paid non-QB of all-time the next season? Lions offenses sucked without Stafford. So did Calvin Johnson not deserve an 8 year extension? Browns offenses sucked with Joe Thomas. So did Joe Thomas never deserve an extension? What about this deal impedes the Panthers from improving on offense going forward? It is essentially a 6 year deal at $12m per, depending on how the Panthers decide to manage the cap hits. So do you think that paying a single player $12m stops them from improving elsewhere? Otherwise, again, I don't see how the Panthers finishing 28th in Offensive DVOA matters. You don't let good players walk simply because the offense wasn't productive, especially when there were other factors at play. And if your point is that a RB alone can't field a good offense... that is literally every position outside of QB. No 1 CB is going to make a good defense. No 1 DE is going to make a good defense. No 1 WR is going to make a good offense, and if anything, a RB is far more capable of it than a WR. No 1 LT is going to make a good offense. Why on this forum is RB the only position held to this weird standard of where their production is dismissed simply because the unit as a whole wasn't any good? If it wasn't for McCaffrey, Panthers would have done much worse than 20th in scoring. Kyle Allen was the league's worst QB, or close to it. Panthers were bad on offense, but it had nothing to do with McCaffrey. And going forward, having McCaffrey isn't going to prevent us from signing offensive players or drafting offensive players to help improve that unit.

Hey, I just ranted about team specific mocks and how inaccurate I find them to be, so why not do my own?? I've been playing around with PFF's new mock simulator. It's great, and I think extremely realistic. This is my best attempt, but honestly, it's very close to how it plays out most times. Full disclosure: the 'board' I used was 25% PFF, 75% public (which is taken from GrindingTheMocks, the fantastic rankings aggregator.) Draft for needs was set at 'a little', consider positional value was 'yes', and randomness was 'less random'. I'll include the grade each pick was given, with 60.0 being an average pick. 1.15: Javon Kinlaw, DL South Carolina (65.6) - As with most simulations I ran, all 3 top WR's were off the board by 1.11. The choice was between Kinlaw, Henderson, and Becton (who PFF is very low on). I've got Kinlaw as clear BPA among those, and I don't love the 34DL class after the top 50ish. If I want one, why not take the best one in the draft? Incredible explosion. Would thrive as Fangio's new version of Akiem Hicks. I'm not sure why the grade on this pick is so low, guessing because DL isn't considered a primary need for us in 2020? But Kinlaw's a foundational building block on D. 2.46: Michael Pittman Jr, WR USC (98.2) - The second tier of WR's flies off the board between our picks. Pittman's the 10th WR taken, the last of the expected difference makers. Pretty good athlete, excellent hands. Honestly reminds me of a slightly less slippery Courtland Sutton. 3.77: Troy Pride Jr, CB Notre Dame (69.4) - Another pick where I'm right near the bottom of the positional tier at a primary need. This is a bet on athleticism, as I think he'll be a better press corner than a zone guy, but the most important part of playing corner is covering, and he's very good at it. 3.85: Lucas Niang, OT TCU (66.0) - I really like this value. I don't think he ever turns into an impact starter, but I don't think there's any reason he can't be an average one at any spot across the OL. If you're into the mantra of not wanting to notice your offensive linemen, for better or worse, Niang's your guy. 3.95: Amik Robertson, CB Louisiana Tech (67.9) - Small, but super fierce. More comfortable playing in off coverage than press, and real eager to jump into the run game. He'd be a fixture as Fangio's slot CB for a long time. 4.118: Logan Wilson, ILB Wyoming (64.9) - Really really good athlete, looks extremely natural in coverage. Great tackler. 5.178: Jason Strowbridge, DL North Carolina (63.9) - Clearly BPA at this point, even though I don't think there's any more need for defensive linemen. Not sure he could carry the bulk to play 34DE, but again, it's a bet on talent. 6.181: Lamical Perine, RB Florida (58.5) - My only below average pick! But I like what I've read about Perine in the passing game. Caught 40 passes last season, and a reliable blocker. Could make Melvin Gordon expendable after 2020. 7.252: Kevin Davidson, QB Princeton (95.6) - Don't pay attention to that grade, any QB in the late rounds gets a 95+. I know nothing about Davidson, but I've read he's good at reading defences, and he's an Ivy Leaguer. Could be groomed into a longtime backup who helps Lock in QB meetings? 7.254: Derrek Tuszka, EDGE North Dakota State (62.6) - I mentioned liking Tuszka in AAA's mock, as a hyper-productive player in the best FBS program. But he's an edge rusher whose arms would be average for a corner. That generally makes for a low ceiling, which isn't ideal in the late rounds. But sometimes you just bet on a football player. PFF gave me a 77.8 grade for this draft. I'd absolutely take that. My only regret is not finding a safety, but there's nowhere to grab a decent one, unless you trade down a few spots and grab McKinney. I'll keep Kinlaw and just give Simmons all the money.

Because 1. You have to fill out your federal taxes to fill out your state taxes in basically every consumer end tax program anyway. And it’s stupid not to do it that way. Plus, you don’t know what you owe until you actually fill out the taxes. 2. Most all consumer end tax programs require that you e-file federal before your e-file state. 2a. E-filing gets your refund quicker, so you want to actually do that. 3. Any info you need to update with the IRS to facilitate your stimulus check can be done that way and doesn’t need to be done through the system that doesn’t work at the moment. 4. It’s one button click to do it alongside your state taxes, while it will take significantly more steps and at least 10 minutes to do it later. 5. There’s literally no reason *not* to do it unless it decreases your stimulus check because you make over the threshold. In which case, you’re probably not worried about owing $100 to federal in the first place.

Back to back 1000 yard WR in Tyler Boyd, AJ Green is supposedly 100% after sitting out all of last year, Joe Mixon is a top 10 RB in the NFL right now, they drafted a LT rd 1 last year who is back healthy, and there is a good chance of adding another weapon (Reagor, Mims) or more protection (Jones, Wilson, Ruiz) at 33 in this draft. The Bengals have always surrounded their new QBs with talent. Carson Palmer had Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson, TJ Houshmanzadeh, Chris Henry and a very good oline after a couple years (Levi Jones, Eric Steinbach, Willie Anderson, Bobby Williams). Andy Dalton had AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Mo Sanu, Tyler Eifert, Gio Bernard and had a very good oline his first 5 years (Whitworth, Zeitler, Boling, Smith). Full transcript of Shady: 1. ASL, what do you do for a living, and tell us a little bit about Mrs Shady? 20, male, and I'm from the Blue Mountains about one and a half hours west of Sydney. Studying law at Sydney University and working at two law firms part time; one of them's super fulfilling and challenging but is unpaid and the other is paid but really is not the area I want to get in to, and isn't that fulfilling; the people are great though. Mrs S and I met at Uni in First Year (we are now Third Year, here we just denote the year by the year) and by the end of that year we were together, her degree is in business info systems and she works part time at a fintech. Together we are just the right mix of love and crazy to have the time of our lives, you've got to have that right amount of crazy to take on this world and we do 2. How did you come up with your name, ShadySlim? Are you a big Eminem supporter? When I got in to online forums first it was as a ten year old playing Disney's Toontown Online and finding the forum for that, and I went by the name of my guy on that game Sir Skids Nickelton, which was an autogenerated name from the name bank in that game. Eventually that was a name that I felt was a bit silly (great game though, big part of my childhood) and so I went to this... tbh I'm not all that huge in to Eminem, he's got a couple good songs, Without Me a standout, no doubt, but it just sort of came to me. Tbh yes, I think that Lamar isn't great (while he is a great player he's not a great passer see vs the Steelers last year and what we did to him, and to me you need to have that passing ability for the clutch) and Baltimore doesn't have a vise grip on winning the division as much as some people think imo... we were an 8-5 team before we dropped the final three games, and that was after pissing away the Baltimore game in OT and with the worst signal callers in the league... Ben's throwing it with no pain for the first time in five years, something's got to give in the Burgh now with this elite D. Pitt, Cle, then Bal and Cin. Then we take the Bowl against NO, book it! What is the biggest misconception about Australia out there? What’s your most and least Australian quality? The misconception is that it's dangerous here! Sure it is in the outback, the middle of nowhere where like five people live, but in the cities it's a great place and no danger, no spiders or snakes etc, like any other city! Sydney is just so sublime! I'd say that my most Australian quality is that dumb bravado to rush in to things head first, and that my least Aussie quality is that i'm not massively racist - everyone here is, it's tiresome. Tbh. what gets most tourists is rips at the beach - dangerous areas of surf that non Australians generally aren't too great at spotting from the shore, and then they swim in to them and get stuck. Read up on them before you come. 8. What’s the first thing you’re going to do when this pandemic starts to fizzle out? Mrs S and I aren't all that well off but we're going to go to Tetsuya, which is a hatted restaurant in the city, and get the absurdly expensive and gastronomic degustation there as a treat - something we haven't ever done before, treating ourselves in such an excessive way on account of the being stuck indoors. Both of us are big Masterchef fans and Tetsuya's been on there a couple of times and it just looks divine. Was stuck on a train coming back from a date in the city with Mrs S once and we got stuck behind a coal train that broke down, and spent a solid hour chatting with the couple next to us who'd just come back from Tetsuya - they told me it's a definite must-do, but save it for a special occasion on account of the dollars. Breaking out of Quarantown is one such occasion, definitely! 9. What’s your take on the MoL model controversy, are you pro or anti MoL model? The numbers in any model are totally subjective - the weightings, the variables, and such are all decided by the guy creating the model, so criticisms that are being levelled at the MoL model could to me be levelled at any model given we don't have perfect information as of yet. But even if you think the numbers are all bunk, the directionality and the trend as well as the relativity of the numbers are all more objective metrics you can pay attention to even if you don't believe in the metric - I believe in it though. In seriousness, not as a real model with ironclad power, but it does the job as an easy-to-digest summary for football fans on the football forum, as long as you don't read too much in to it tbf. 10. Have you ever met anyone from FF? If not, who would you be most interested to meet (outside of the MoL of course)? King's Cross is where all the hedonists go so I'd direct you there for sure, it's got the right balance of clubs, organised crime and women for you definitely. The beaches, you've got to see the beaches in an Australian summer, sort of the "must do", Opera House and Harbour Bridge are our Grand Canyon style landmarks that all who come see, but having an Australian tour guide (me) would help to set the more obscure parts of the agenda. 13. Growing up where I did below the poverty line I became aware of such concepts of institutional socioeconomic inequality, disadvantage, etc, and how so many people struggle every day through no fault of their own but because of their place in a grossly unfair system - anyone that has been around me for more than four seconds knows that I'm outspoken and a big lefty (that is as political as i will get), and though I am as of now studying law, i want to parlay a career in law helping the disadvantaged in a field such as employment law in to a career in the political game. I'm cynical and I don't trust the political system to deliver the best outcomes for society, and given that i'm someone who's very assertive and likes to take the bull by the horns the logical conclusion is to be the big man myself; and i don't want to get in to politics to be a politician, for anyone who wants to do that is a social climbing sycophant. Naive as it is you have to go in wanting to help as many people and achieve change. Why set it to being the prime minister? That's just the way I am - I'm not the sort of guy to be happy as just a politician, as one of the many forgettable backroom legislators in the crowd - I'm someone who has to be the guy. 19. What is your greatest fear? Getting cliche again it's got to be failure. I hold myself to an incredulously high standard in all that I do and I'm very tough on myself; I don't give a second care about criticism from many people, from coworkers or friends, but from me I am very very critical, and probably to a bad extent. That's part of why it's in my nature to want to be number one, and just a mild success isn't enough for me - that drive to win, win, always go for more, probably to an unhealthy level. I suppose when you mix in a huge self esteem with a decent brain, limitless ambition and a dash of moxie you get me, the guy who's always going to push himself to do more and be better even when it's not a great idea. Sometimes you should take time at base camp to regroup and take stock of where you are, and all that self reflection is something I don't do enough of - if i could change my mindset from "anything less than number one is a failure" in to the more pragmatic "it's great to have come this far, but better to go further" I reckon it would do me a lot of good. Cynically you could say probably my desire to want to be the guy also stems from a fear of being forgotten; I believe that there is a life after we pass, I am a Christian, but we can live forever on earth if we leave a big enough legacy, and i would reluctantly admit that plays a small part in me wanting to be the highest of the high, and not just being satisfied with being just "good" - ffs that's way too philosophical for a Wednesday morning 20. I think that most countries will have their regulations peel beginning late May to early June, and depending on how that goes, they'll loosen them further or keep them around for longer - we're seeing a spike in cases in China, after they have loosened restrictions a bit, though i'm not sure if there's a reason for that beyond the restrictions - so it's not just the lifting of restrictions that's key but the immediate trends after that too that are of importance 22. And who is your favorite player to play with other than the MoL? When we got to final four, it was us, @Whicker, @Ragnarok. Whicker gave me the chance to buddy up with him and my plan was to take it and bounce Rags, making it so F3 was us and whicker, and then we deuce Whick at F3 and so it's us at F2. Unfortunately, Whicker got me to show my hand and own up to the fact I wasn't serious about taking him up on his offer, and sniffed out that I was likely to go back on him - and so I got bounced at F4 instead and you went soon after. It gives a population that's already anxious more reason to worry. We don't know the total infected, how long immunity lasts, if effective treatment will be available, if a vaccine will become available, if mutations will occur, etc...it's a model that has so many unknowns, and of course, the 'journalists' run with the juiciest headline because it's click-bait.No one's an expert on what the future holds with this virus.

You can’t knock Jeudy and Lamb for not being fast enough and then knock Ruggs for his route running despite his freak speed. I have no idea what you expect a WR to be. You are literally the only person in the world that holds this viewpoint. You are aware of that, right? Like, literally nobody thinks Young is an unathletic stiff pass rusher.

I would honestly take that trade with one fourth round pick right now. But both would allow us to trade into the third round in the middle or near the end and acquire another impact player in the third. Or maybe trade our third into the second if we really, really like someone who is falling. It also gives us a decent stopgap in Reiff.
