  3. Being Jordan isn't just having the most titles. Michael Jordan was also the most exciting athlete of all-time. He was not only the best but also the guy who everyone wanted to watch. Tom Brady doesn't have that sort of appeal. I don't think we have had a Michael Jordan of the NFL at the QB position. It would require not only a QB to win a lot of titles but to also be the most exciting athlete in sports.

  4. Stafford and Rivers are probably in the same category now...really good QBs who had injuries derail their careers. Also probably guys who would have a ring or two if they ended up with a different franchise.

  10. The guy who’s a lock that I have a problem with is Frank Gore. Fringe top 5 back in his prime. Never felt like you were watching a Hall of Famer. Then he passed like 20 guys on the all time rushing list after he stopped being good and all of a sudden he’s a HOFer. At his best I don’t think he wasn’t as good as Jamal Lewis, Shaun Alexander, Priest Holmes, Fred Taylor and there’s a few others you could throw in there. Wasn’t in the same universe as Edgerrin James whose induction was controversial.

  11. Bears specifically have sucked running under Nagy because of their inability to run IZ. 1) Problem is Nagy like to run it with a wham or trap blocking TE responsible for EMLOS on one side or other. I haven’t charted this play, but we miss that block A LOT more than we make it. And the play is often ruined as a result. 2) Our guys often don’t climb or get beat. On sooo many plays one guy just completely screws up and it ruins the play. And that is all it takes. One guy. He gets swum, or blocks the wrong guy or never comes off his double or wrong guy climbs. Or, and I am not k

  12. What’s with bad teams trading good players? It’s a damn near crapshoot to hit on draft picks as it is, and you’re going to just let the good ones walk when you actually do hit? The Jets used a premium FRP on him in hopes he’d develop into an elite player, and now that he has, they don’t want to resign him. Why even draft him in the first place? Makes zero sense. This is how bad teams stay bad.

  16. I kinda hope they have DIllon cut weight honestly. Like, I get that he's a stud athlete even at that weight, but the weight doesn't really help the things he does best anyway. At 245 I just think all it does is give him more power to try to deal with all the defenders he could have just outrun at 230. He's not a physical runner who wants to go over you; he can and will when you run him up the middle every play, but he's at his best when he's running away from contact rather than at it. I see it sort of like Bell; he was fine at that weight, but his game really took a leap when he didn'

  18. Huh, that's an interesting tidbit for obvious reasons... Seems like Conner might be a bit greedy in his advice... Dak supposedly wants 40-45?!?! He could be leveraging Dak's situation unfairly against Jamal & the Jets: "You wanna wind up like Dak and have to wait for your $$" Just speculating, of course.

  19. I was driving from Idaho to Jackson, Wy along 22 once and saw a dude who had found a moose who’d been hit by a car on the side of the road (assuming it wasn’t him, his truck was fine). Dude was literally field dressing the moose on the side of the road. Saws, blood and guts everywhere.... Needless to say that’s not something my suburban midwestern arse had ever seen before, but it was both horrifying and awesome. Not sure where I was headed with that, but that’s my best moose story.

  29. 2010 Chargers should be in the discussion for 9-7. 1st in offense, 1st in defense, top 5 in a host of other stats like passing O, passing D, rushing D, etc. Just one of the worst special teams of all-time.

  32. signing a veteran at another position to a premium contract is more likely to live up to that contract than a running back. if you're seriously contesting that then i'm not sure what to say, given the amount of evidence that supports not paying running backs big money. and you keep giving examples of teams investing high picks in running backs but have given NONE of teams extending their running backs to top 5 money and it working out. there's a very simple explanation for that: it rarely does. statistically running backs are much less effective in back-to-back high-volume seasons

  38. The problem is that it probably takes a top 50-ish pick to replace Cook. That draft capital is worth more to the Vikings than the cap space over the next few years. There would also be significant uncertainty that the draft pick would pan out / stay healthy / etc -- at least as much as those same considerations for Cook. The Vikings have consistently valued RB1 as a premium position (draft investment and/or cap space). Much of the league behaves the same way. The Ravens and Chiefs (both very progressive front offices) spent top 50 picks on RBs this year. Are the Vikings better off i

  39. I won't disagree with the writer, because hell, that's the direction where most runs are targeted towards. But there are a few things to consider here that he doesn't talk about and some may even further his point. 1) QB position was the most important. The author states (paraphrasing) that when you are a team who struggles at QB then the RB becomes the most important and the Bears struggle with running the ball. My refute to this is....how the hell are/were supposed to address the RB issue when we had much bigger issues? 2) Timing, RB competition in the mid-2000's, and the turn
