I mean, I hope but I'm being realistic too. Get into the playoffs and see what happens. Those runs rarely come to fruition Year 1 with a new HC, OC, DC, and large player turnover (which happened to be upgrades pretty much across the board thankfully).

They offered more for Danielle Hunter but he took less to go home. After that, I think they wanted to see what they had in the young guys (Trice, Ebiketie, Grant, Hellams) at those 2 spots. 2 of the 4 are now out for the year after Preseason Week 1 and the jury is still out on the other 2. Perfect storm of upgrading while needing depth.

As a Falcons fan the Penix pick is too easy, the head scratcher to me was not a single DB taken. Using a 3rd to trade up for Ruke was odd. Could've stayed put for Melton or Rakestraw or if you make that trade up Dejean and McKinstry both there. Tampa/Kyhree Jackson hung around until the 4th also.

These were my most common outcomes doing mocks for Atlanta mixed with who was actually still available through 5. Obviously one position effecting another, and I put them where I would have been fine taking them so a lot of players slid for me. SMH ..... 1. Latu/Turner/Murphy/Mitchell 2. Melton/TJ Tampa/Fringe 1st round receiver that slides (Pearsall, McConkey, Mitchell) so Mitchell in this case/Adisa Isaac or Kneeland 3a.& 3b. Dewayne Carter/Kiran Amegadjie/Khyree Jackson/Tez Walker/Dorlus/Jaden Hicks/Booker 4. DTD/Rattler/Javon Baker/Cam Hart/Decamarion Richardson/Abrams-Draine 5-7. If Rattler was gone or not selected Pratt/Travis then depth.

I don't like this for my Falcons. I like Rattler in the 5th infinitely better than Penix at 8.

My other one is Penix to the Raiders at 14.

Whoever did the GM draft pulled off a masterclass trading down picking up an extra 2nd. 1. Latu 2a. McConkey 2b. Sweat 3a. Bullock 3b. Hart 4. Rattler I would be floored if this is how our first 4 rounds looked. I would have probably went TJ Tampa where McConkey went and waited til the 3rd to go receiver but that's nitpicking. Great mix of value also meeting needs. Seems like there's a drop off after the first 3 edge's I would take Turner at 8 or either of the other 2 in a small trade down.

Might have to jump the Falcons .... maybe even the Giants.

I'm kind of meh on Cousins. Shouldn't be more than a 2yr deal, and it doesn't solve anything long term basically kicking the can down the road. I'll say this though, it's still a massive upgrade from the current.

I think with the since of urgency at the position this is most likely unless we can get Fields at our price.

I knew the answer to that, I just don't get how the emphasis isn't on a QB and someone that can get the most out of the offense. The defense has it's flaws but far from the problem.
