  1. Ballentine not good in slot. Should be decent on boundary.
  2. Restructured him to give guaranteed money too. Looks like we are carrying 3 QB again. Dumb.
  3. I don’t like Peart here. Would have preferred Troy Dye, Nick Harris, Gandy-Golden, or Davis-Gaither. We have to go Harris in 4th if he’s there.
  4. I still think we need a LB that can cover the middle of the field, but am willing to give Martinez a chance to prove me wrong. I think I’d rather Thomas/Wills than Wirfs. I go back and forth. Basically hits everything we need except an athletic LB so hard to really complain.
  5. Would open up a lot of possibilities for us and would make taking an OT in first the right move. Plus, if we keep our second, we might even be able to get Queen or Murray and have a sideline to sideline coverage ILB, too, or get a true deep safety.
  6. Another run stuffing IDL with limited to no pass rush capability. Depth is cool and all but I think we’re pretty deep on IDL
  7. I don’t like OT at 4, but I think it’s going to happen. McKinney is insane value there. Let Akeem Davis-Gaither fall to us in third and give us that athletic LB were lacking and it’ll be a great 3 rounds. Will need an OC and edge. Ruiz and Baidiaz still on board so bound to get one in fourth. Wouldn’t hate it at all
  8. While First-Pick drafts are fun, they’re totally madden fantasy. I did a fanspeak mock, and while I disagree with a lot of the positional rankings, ended up with this: 4. Tristan Wirfs, OT 36. Xavier McKinney, FS 99. Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB 110. Cesar Ruiz, OC 150. Darrel Taylor, Edge 183. Jonathan Garvin, Edge 218. Kaijia Lipscomb, WR 238. AJ Green, CB 247. Stephen Sullivan, TE 255. Julian Blackmon, S ADG and Ruiz likely don’t make it past 2nd. Taylor and Garvin both have good developmental traits to work with. I passed on Murray and Queen for McKinney. He helps shore up the back end. Getting ADG in the third really softened that. He’ll be our athletic cover LB. I would have liked an edge earlier and some additional OL depth, but it just wasn’t there.
  9. The only benefit to keeping LW on tag and letting him sign elsewhere next year is we *may* get a decent comp pick if we don’t sign a lot of FA. Since we spent lots of money this year, I imagine that to be the case. Still, was an asinine trade. A lot of good players likely available at our third round spot.
  10. If we go OT in round one, I don’t think we go offense again until round 4 unless someone that we can’t pass up is there. (Like Andrew Thomas in the second but then I’d just be angry we spent a first on Wirfs)
  11. I actually think Simmons will have a bigger impact for his team. I have concerns about Young disappearing towards end of season, but Simmons is a modern NFL LBer. He may be a few years too soon, though.
  12. Trufant is still a solid CB, but he’s 29. I could see them going with either.
  13. Seems odd considering Cody Core was just resigned but no complaints about competent special teams.
  14. I think going Wirfs and Ruiz is a luxury. Wirfs and Queen and Baun is way easier to swallow. Then take C in fourth. I would personally like to trade from 6 to mid teens and get some more picks. I’d take the best OL at that point (which might be Thomas), then Queen, Baun, and a true deep FS.
  15. I wouldn’t even say they filled ILB. Still need someone who can cover TEs
  16. Marshall Newhouse was NYG starting RT at one point. Remmers wasn’t much of an upgrade. Soooo Fleming will be?
  17. Nice! I love starting struggling lineman! Sweet, sweet OL rebuild!
  18. Not sure about this given the Cody Core resigning
  19. Is he that bad? The Dallas fans on Twitter say yes, but they’d also say Dak was terrible if NYG signed him
  20. Doing mock drafts on First-Pick are so fun and incredibly unrealistic but make me feel better about our FA. After taking about every trade possible, I ended up with: Andrew Thomas, Patrick Queen, Zack Baun, Yetur Gross-Matos, Ross Blalock, Lloyd Cushenberry, Clyde Edwards-Hellaire, Kyle Duggar, Quintez Cephus, Jeremy Chinn, Ezra Cleveland, and Michael Ojemuida in the first four rounds lol
  21. I don’t think we got any better or plugged any holes despite spending the cash. I don’t believe CB was gonna be an early need. We still need a LT, RT, OC, ILB, FS, Edge. Estimates are we have about $11M in cap space left so we are likely done. Our best bet is to trade back several times and accumulate picks and hope we can walk away with Queen, Baun/Uche, Ruiz/Cushenberry, and a tackle.
  22. Reminds me of the Golden signing. Let’s see if it works out
  23. McGovern is solid. Unsure about rest
