  1. Yeah despite the stuff that has happened over the past few years there has been absolutely no sentiment that Easterby and Caserio have ever butted heads. Even Easterby and O'Brien for that matter (and OB seemed to have conflict with everyone except Devlin lol). Easterby brought Caserio here and I'm not buying anything that suggests that they're not on the same page. Like Caserio is on radio this week defending Easterby and now I'm to believe there is a power struggle over who should be the HC between the two. Give me a break. I also just can't take something from a texanschat poster fro
  2. This is such nonsense. Pure speculation. I don't believe any of this is true. Not much with this team has been good recently, but making up pure garbage like this isn't any better than what's been going on inside that building.
  3. I don't see any connections between Gannon and Caserio. Gannon went to Louisville. Don't see anything in his history about John Carroll. I saw on NFLN that McCown (he's now all in on coaching) and Gannon are both considered serious contenders. Texans apparently want someone young and to develop with the program. I'm not real high on either of those options tbh.
  4. Considering the candidates out there I was thinking as a fan I would love to get Demeco Ryans... but I don't think it's going to happen. Ryans was a fan favourite when he played here and a good leader. I love to see him lead our team to success.
  5. I thought during camp when listening to Culley and then Lovie Smith speak that I would have preferred to have Lovie to be the HC. Still I agree that I believe it'll be Flores/Mayo and Pep as OC (which wouldn't be bad). I just have such a problem with this organization and how things are done. McNair is an owner that I have no respect for. I think Caserio is a smart guy and may end up making this team good, but it'll take a very long time to repair the image of this franchise within the NFL due to the mismanagement of players and people within the organization. What I'm saying is that this is n
  6. David Culley absolutely deserves another year. Considering the situation before the season and roster he inherited there is no doubt. I don't think many Texans fans expected to win even 4 games considering our situation. I don't think Culley is the guy to take this team to a top level NFL team but I like the way he wants to play (run the ball, limit turnovers offensively, and take the ball away defensively). He certainly had some bumps to start the season and looked completely in over his head with game management, but those things improved over the season. The incident with Reid is still perp
  7. Well after Culley's comments that Kelly is 100% back I am a little surprised. I was hoping to see Pep promoted to OC if any change was made, but keeping them both Kelly and Pep is ok to me too (possible that Pep could get poached eg: if Harbaugh goes to Raiders). To me the reason that you keep Kelly is the same reason that you keep Culley. We will not be contending next season. This is a critical stage of development for Mills and we should want them to try keep things around him as stable as possible whilst improving the talent. Looking around the league good OC's don't grow on trees. G
  8. After Mills' performance against the Chargers I absolutely believe he's earnt an opportunity to be our starter going into 2022. It's exciting to think about surrounding Mills with some weapons and improving the offensive line. We might have a QB if he can continue to take care of the football. Biggest thing I still want to see from Mills is him go on the road and have a performance like we just saw. His best games have been at home and his worst games have been on the road. It's ok for him to take a little while longer to figure it out on the road but it's still something we're waiting t
  9. Texans have to be pleased with how rookie Garrett Wallow played in this game. Played the full game on defense and we didn't see a drop off. He's been a solid special teams player throughout the season. Caserio's first draft was small but he seems to have gotten guys who can contribute. All the rookies have seen the field this season and they are at least solid roster players (perhaps no superstars).
  10. Dorsett was signed this week. Once again Texans haven't been able to run the ball. 40 + attempts for Mills is to many. Valuable experience for him in these games to close out the season. I don't recall Russ Wilson being touched in this game. He's picked us apart with time to throw and evading the rush easily. Another big issue for Houston is our rush defense. We are right at the bottom of the league in defending the run and it's allowed Seattle and other teams to control games all year.
  11. Nothing much good about this team right now. No energy in this game. Culley appears to be starting to lose the team. Offense is absolutely abysmal. We've seen Panthers move on from an overrated Joe Brady as OC. Time for Kelly to go and see if Pep can get something going offensively to finish out the season. If Pep doesn't spark something then the whole offensive staff can go in the offseason. Obviously our talent level is severely lacking but 57 yards passing. Changes are needed now!
  12. Surprising to see that Justin Reid is inactive after violating team rules. Some reports mention disagreement with coaching staff. Concerning to me for a good young player who will be a free agent soon. Will we be able to keep him in 2022?
  13. I agree that Campen's unit has underwhelmed, but Devlin's unit was just as bad in the run game. We were 31st in the NFL in rushing in 2020, and we're currently sitting at 32nd in 2021 with a pathetic 3.2 YPC. Wasn't far to fall lol. I don't know that getting rid of Campen is the right thing to do, but running the football has been an issue with this team for a while.
  14. As much as I love to watch our team on Sundays... can't wait for the offseason! It's going to be interesting to see how Caserio wants to build this roster. I think that we should expect a new OC after this season. Kelly hasn't been as good as he needed to be to keep his job in my opinion. I could see Pep taking over as OC or Culley brining in somebody else. Obviously we are in need of a franchise QB but at least in November nobody seems high on the QB class. I'd rather pass and go another season to see if Mills makes a jump from year one to two. If he doesn't progress then we will p
  15. Yeah this is a tad bit concerning to me. Zac was playing great and was rewarded with a top LB contract. Culley said the reason for the missed quarter will be kept internal. You hate to see that from a young core player. The defense didn't miss a beat in the first quarter without him. I expect it will take some time for him to adjust and he should thrive in this defense. Hopefully this is a one time thing. Also worth noting that Desmond King also didn't play in the first quarter, but this wasn't picked up by the media like Cunningham's absence was. Before coming to Houston I read something
  16. There is hope fellow texans fans. Some great news about the team from McClain is that Devlin will not return as OL coach. This is the best news ever imo. With so many problems on this team there is at least some chance now our OL will perform better than they have the last 6 years that Devlin has been the coach. Maybe there will be better protection for Watson or a rookie or whoever our RB will be going forward. Stick with us. Go Texans
  17. Everything you see is that this guy is a good leader (what we need most) and will connect with the players far better than what we had with OB. I think his success will be heavily influenced by his coordinators and assistant coaches. I don't hate this hire. Deshaun said after the season "We just need new energy. We just need discipline. We need structure. We need a leader so we can follow that leader as players. That's what we need".... Culley is the leader we need. Kubiak who has coached with Culley said that 'David is the energy in the building. David is a very energetic football coach. He r
  18. Wow this organization is a mess!! I think if we were able to pull off a combination of Frazier as HC and Caldwell as assistant HC/OC. That would be ideal for our current situation.... In saying that, I don't think we would get both and would rather have Caldwell then Frazier if it came down to a pick between the two of them. Caserio said in one of his interviews after being hired (regarding building trust within the organization) that it is important to get as many good people as we can in the building regardless of role. Both Frazier and Caldwell are outstanding character men and would be g
  19. Hey guys, check out the mock draft simulator on the draft network website. Lots of fun to see who you end up with in different scenarios. I'll put the link below. Also check out who I ended up with (admittedly took me a couple of attempts to have a draft I liked haha). 1st 23 - Byron Murphy.. Washington CB = Best corner on the board. The top OT were taken and it would have been a reach for a guy like Risner at 23. 2nd 54 - David Edwards.. Wisconsin T = Top tackle who was available. Fill a huge need. 2nd 55 - Deionte Thompson.. Alabama S = Great value here. Would be a ni
  20. Mitch Hyatt is bad. Don't be fooled by him being an all american. Dude is a day 3 pick.
  21. Kickoff explained - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickoff_(gridiron_football) Yer I understand what your saying. If they did that the opposing team would get the ball wherever the receiver caught the punt. Its just a different game then aussie rules.
  22. I feel a fair share of blame has to go on Watson. He's taken at least 3 sacks this game just by holding the ball trying to extend and make plays. There are only 5 Olineman and the jets are sending DB's (Jamal on that last one). Watson has to beat the blitz with the throw and teams will continue to do it until he fixes this area of his game. He's to often putting us in bad situations which he sometimes gets us out of.
  23. Great to have Foreman back!... Kind of surprised by the corresponding move which was cutting Natrell Jamerson. A 5th round pick by the saints and was one of their final cuts. We claimed him and he played at CB and special teams. He's been inactive since Colvin has come back from injury but I figured he was a guy we liked. I thought guys like Deante Burton and Sammy Coates would've been better cuts.
  24. Glad we got rid of Allen. He dealt with a lot of injuries over the two season we had him and his play reflected that... he was awful. I didn't mind the signing two years ago but it obviously didn't work out for us.
