  1. 2019 NFL Draft Thread v5.0

    No noteworthy news I see
  2. 2019 NFL Draft V4

Wow tried to read through what I missed over the weekend. lol Here is my take. I am always wary of Alabama players now. Always. Just me though
  3. 2019 NFL Draft V4

I didn't even realize they had two. That would be nice assuming Bosa doesnt drop. I could see them doing it to with a new office coaching changes. We would even have ammo to move back up without losing any picks if there was someone we wanted before we pick at #24. If not we would get the best TE I have seen in a while and still have 24, 27, and 30(from GB).
  4. The Official Derek Carr Thread

I don't disagree that it could happen. I do agree they wont trade up though which is what scares me. If he is really worth #4 why not trade up. Otherwise you are just hoping he works out and on draft day it "appears" like you got a steal but no games are played on draft day. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  5. The Official Derek Carr Thread

Here is my take. Gruden loves any QB, lol. And he will take any opportunity to get to know one. If anyone is truly interested in drafting him it's Gruden imo. Just listening to Mayock over the years on different platforms I don't think he would take him at 4 assuming he believes there is top 10 talent at other positions. Partially because he understands how hard it is to find these quarterbacks and pass rushers. He has a QB on the roster who has proven he can hang in the NFL vs spending a 4th on a good player but who knows what will happen. And the measureable will scare him a bit combined with the limited history on tape. Also Oklahomas system was already built around Mayfield who was also smaller albeit not as much. And right now if you really have to have someone like Russell Wilson then just send some picks over for him instead of an unknown quantity. Im not a QB person in general but that is my opinion. I certainly wouldn't hate the pick but I think it would be an unjustified pick.
  6. The Official Derek Carr Thread

I'm in Derek Carr camp still. I was more upset with how plays were called (again big surprise) last year. Especially at the beginning of the season. And quite frankly the OL was not the same OL. When you dont add pieces and the main strength of the team(OL) is not performing to their level there is going to be issues. He needs to do better for sure but making a change now wouldn't make sense to me personally And really to me Carr is very good at throwing deep balls... When he throws them. We need more of these plays and I think the additions will help with that. He isn't scared we know that, he is agressive typically with most throws. Personally I would rather have an INT on the other side of the field than 10ft in front of me so I hope they go deep way more.
  7. 2019 NFL Draft V4

Ya looking forward to it. Been trying to follow the players but I have not watched every video an game available like usual lol. But man I love that T.J. Hockenson kid. We have three 1st rounders and none are in the right spot to get him, lol
  8. 2019 NFL Draft V4

Hi Guys, long time. Been trying to keep up reading last week. Getting excited again.
  9. 2019 NFL Draft V3

  10. Mark Davis not happy with Reggie(R1trade down)

True did seem very odd. Personally I think anytime you target a specific guy outside of a generational player you are bound to get less "value" since you already see the player as more valuable than anyone else. This is the real thing I think needs to be addressed between Reggie and Gruden. To be a fly on that wall. Gruden said he was on the phone making deals why Reggie was on the other phone making other deals. For all we know Gruden accepted this trade before the pick was even up. Or the opposite. However knowing how much Reggie value's draft picks it would be a strange move unless his hands were tied. Although it was a horrible draft year we only got a 2nd from Miami a few years back to move down to 12 from 3. That for me was a harder value to swallow at the time but seeing as hardly anyone from that years draft class has panned out it doesnt seem as bad now. So despite Reggie's MO he has had instances of this occur before.
  11. Mark Davis not happy with Reggie(R1trade down)

Typically terms of these trades are made before the pick is on the clock. So any video showing when it happened was past the point of negotiation. In my opinion Gruden said we are taking Miller and Reggie found a way to get a little more out of it. Look at what ARI gave up for probably no reason at all. I dont know who they were jumping or if they were jumping anyone at all. I think if we required a 2nd in that situation they would have just passed on the trade all together and took the change he would fall or they could trade with another team at a lower price. It is a good deal for Cards no doubt but in this case I dont think many teams valued Rosen as much as the Cardinals who seemed like they just wanted to get any QB.
  12. Raiders Defense

Thats what I was thinking. Why not. With Tahir in the mix we would have a nice rotation of LBs.
  13. Raiders Defense

I was not aware he was available. Hell ya I would take him for a year or two.
  14. Round 6: Azeem Victor, LB, Washington

Ya I remember really liking Victor last year pre-draft whenever I would see him. I didnt watch too much college ball this year at all but from what I have seen on Victor overall is that he seems more instinctive and gap responsible than some of the other young LB's we have brought in recently. He didnt test very well but I think he has more athletic capability and we should see that once his weight is right and has leg has now been healed for longer. I could see him in a rotation early on for sure. But as someone else said I dont think he will have any issues making the team just because of ST.
  15. Raiders Defense

From what I read we will be doing a lot of Cover 2 and Cover 4 with a little bit of man. Guenther likes to hide two LBs behind the ball/DL and send blitzes up the middle. The hope is this creates more one on one matchups for our DLinemen since those interior blockers will always be thinking about who they got to pickup. Not a blitzer so much as he wants pressure on every play because he thinks there is oppertunity for more one on one matchups. He prefers to get there with four but will blitz if it is not working which also helps open it back up for the front four.
  16. 2018 Raiders - Reasons to be Optimistic

I agree. I think now its just Gruden who gets final say on some things that were kind of up to Mark Davis before who would mostly just revert to Reggie as he should. It would be wise of Gruden to work well with McKenzie and lean on him. He has delivered on what has been asked of him in the past. Just the wrong things were asked imo.
  17. 2018 Free Agency Thread v2

I forgot we signed Amonty Bryant as well. That could be a nice foursome of ends. Mack, Irvin, Bryant, Key. One thing I can say looking at this roster its going to be tough to make the team. Maybe top two players are locked at each position for the most part.
  18. 2018 Draft Recap Thread

I was not to happy at first, Kolton and then PJ. Not because I didnt like either player but because of who else was left when we picked. Now with that said all the rest of the picks kind of made up for it and if you arrange them differently it looks much better to us armchair fans. The one thing I would have liked to see was a better LB but the pool was limited. Genard Avery would have been nice late but late round guys are usually hit or miss anyway. I liked that I should not have to hear about drafted an OT again for a couple years, hopefully. I liked that they doubled down on DL also been wanting that for a while. Probably would have liked to have a Safety at some point, still a need. 1. M. Hurst 2. K. Miller 3. A. Key 3. P.J. Hall 3. M. Bryant 4. N. Nelson 5. B. Parker 5. A. Victor 6. M. Ateman 7. J. Townsend
  19. Random Raider Stuff

I forgot Hankins was still out there.
  20. 2018 Draft Thread v.2 - DONE AND IN THE BOOKS

    Both would be better
  21. 2018 Draft Thread v.2 - DONE AND IN THE BOOKS

Man would be nice if we moved up with our 3rd and took two of these guys.
  22. 2018 Draft Thread v.2 - DONE AND IN THE BOOKS

still some guys in the 2nd I would have considering at bottom half of round 1. Throw in a couple of pretty good OG's and some RB's that are still left and we should be able to get at least one of these guys. Wouldnt mind a little trade up for one of these guys either but typically lots of OL, WR, RB go high rd 2. Landry would probably be the guy we would have to move for since EDGE is a premium spot and CLE and INDY both have two picks before ours. Isaiah Oliver Josh Jackson Maurice Hurst Harold Landry Justin Reid
  23. Draft Thread

uggh. is this the first time cable actually got his way though? I thought his mo was getting bad players to play better so they always give him a project.
