  1. As Brady is considered by many to be the best NFL player of all time, I think it would be a grand gesture if his #12 was retired league-wide. The Raiders, who normally don't retire numbers, can simultaneously retire the number for Ken Stabler, since #12 would be out of circulation for all teams now. Players who are still wearing #12 would be grandfathered until they themselves retire.
  2. Jimmy G could also prove an effective replacement since the 49ers are preparing to part ways with him (which I hope becomes a colossal mistake as I hope Purdy is a one-season wonder like Tebow).
  3. I hope Mason Crosby sticks around through the 2028 season where he would be 44. Many kicking specialists have played well into their 40s. But Crosby staying with the Packers through at least 2028 and never playing for another team would set a pro football record for longest career spent with one team with at least 22 seasons, breaking the record held by Jason Hanson of division rival Detroit and Lou Groza of Cleveland, though the latter's first four years were spent in the AAFC (hence why I said "pro football record" and not "NFL record").
  4. 1982 is now the earliest year in which active NFL players were born. Three players born that year played in 2022: Jason Peters - born January 22 Andy Lee - born August 11 Robbie Gould - born December 6 Which of these three, if any, will play in 2023 remains to be seen. Aaron Rodgers (born December 2) was the only player born in 1983 to play last year. 5 players born in 1984 played last year: Marcedes Lewis - born May 19 Clark Harris - born July 10 Matt Prater - born August 10 Mason Crosby - born September 3 Nick Folk - born November 5 Any of these players could enter 2023 as the oldest active player in the NFL.
  5. There are now no active NFL players from the 20th century, the 6-division era, or who were born in the 1970s (1970-1979) or 198th decade (1971-80).
  6. As I've said in other threads the Bengals should have hosting rights to the Kickoff Game next season, even though they didn't make the Super Bowl, to make up for their only home primetime game this season being canceled. A good opponent for this game if the NFL does this (which would be a grand gesture) would be Pittsburgh.
  7. That game-sealing penalty must have brought back memories of the 2015 wild card game against the Steelers, the game that ended up being the beginning of the end for Marvin Lewis.
  8. I wanted Brady to set an NFL record by playing until age 50. Now that's he's done, the game against the Jaguars next season loses some of it luster because it won't be Lawrence VS. Brady like I wanted.
  9. As a Packers fan, please Cardinals take Aaron Rodgers off our hands.
  10. It's also disappointing that we won't get to see him in the Creamsicle uniforms.
  11. I really wanted him to play to 50, setting an NFL record in the process. And the Jaguars-Buccaneers game loses some of its luster since it won't be Brady VS. Lawrence.
  12. I hope the Browns don't regret not going after Sean Payton considering we're facing him next season.
  13. I wonder how terrible the ratings for the CFP title game were given how bad of a blowout it was
  14. The opponent of course for the Kickoff Game if the Bengals are awarded hosting rights should be Pittsburgh.
  15. As I have stated in another thread, because your only primetime home game in 2022 was canceled, you should get hosting rights to the Kickoff Game next season even though the Bengals didn't make the Super Bowl. The winner of the Super Bowl instead would get to host the first proper Sunday night game of 2023, with the game ideally being the Super Bowl rematch if Kansas City wins.
  16. Kansas City winning would be the best outcome for NBC as there will be a rematch between the teams next regular season and a KC win would make it the Kickoff Game.
  17. If a Super Bowl ends up having a rematch the following regular season, it should be on SNF. That has happened twice thus far, in consecutive years - Super Bowls 50 and 51 were rematched on the SNF package the following year, the former as the Kickoff Game (the latter was eligible to be the Kickoff Game for 2017 as it was hosted by New England who won the Super Bowl meeting but KC was chosen for that instead). There's also been one Super Bowl (31) rematched on MNF when that was the flagship primetime package.
  18. I want the Chiefs to win not only because I am a Browns fan, but also they have a home game with Philly next year because of the expansion to a 17-game schedule. And the teams meeting in the Super Bowl in 2 weeks should pretty much lock next season's regular season meeting onto the SNF schedule next year.
  19. Purdy will be a one-season wonder like Tim Tebow.
  20. I'm rooting for Purdy to be a one-season wonder like Tebow ended up being.
  21. The Cowboys need a coach that is capable of beating the 49ers in the playoffs. Reid has done that.
  22. NFC East rivalry games bring in higher ratings than other NFL games though, stemming from having teams in four of the eight largest markets. Had the Commanders made the playoffs alongside their division rivals the NFL would have been super happy.
  23. The Cowboys hiring Andy Reid would be a huge troll of the Eagles because he used to coach them.
  24. On the contrary if the 49ers win the Super Bowl I predict they will reclaim the record that they held for 40 years for worst win percentage by a defending Super Bowl champion from the Rams
