  1. My sister is bipolar, and it’s such a hard thing because while it is manageable, it’s not easy or pleasant. There’s a secondary kind of stigma that goes deeper - “go get help” and “stay on your medication” isn’t a helpful response from those sympathetic to folks dealing with mental illnesses. It takes work and effort from the whole support system, finding the right help is more important than just going to see someone. Medication and dosages can shift over time, etc. I’m really glad he’s made this statement, and I’m hopeful that he can work back toward being on track and staying there. Football isn’t and shouldn’t be the most important thing right now, but i would be willing to bet that the structure and routine of being on a team and knowing what to expect has been a fixture in his life that was helpful in keeping him healthy. I’m really pulling for him.

Well, unless the McCaskeys all of a sudden have a change of heart towards Ted Phillips, I don't know if it can change.  He's the one that has hired their GMs Jerry Angelo and Ryan Pace.

And that's a good thing for Vikings fans. That's the point I was trying to make - the decision makers at the top are going to have to be replaced before the Bears can be consistently good.

  3. The Bears will never be consistently good until new ownership/management comes in. Look at all of the decisions that have been made above GM level since Lovie Smith was let go.

  4. @ San Franscisco
    @ Detroit
    vs Pittsburgh
    @ Chicago
    vs LA Rams
    @ Green Bay
    vs Chicago

My guess is that they go 5-2 down the stretch and grab the 6th or 7th seed. This SF game is going to be crucial for getting one of the Wild Card spots.

  5. Interesting thread so far.

I'll agree with the 2nd post that mentioned The Band. They basically invented modern day Americana/Roots rock, and they fully rejected the psychedelic wave of that era. So great that Eric Clapton wanted to quit Cream and become their rhythm guitarist...

Modern underrated artists according to me:

Jason Isbell - probably the best songwriter alive right now, and an absolute beast on the guitar. "If We Were Vampires" my be my favorite lyric.

Futurebirds - Psychedelic indie/alt-country band out of Athens, GA. The Teamwork album is great start to finish.

Highly Suspect - The first two albums were AWESOME. Hard Rock trio with incredible live shows. HOB in Chicago was one of my favorite concert experiences ever.

Pinegrove - Really talented songwriters and indie band. It's kinda like Emo with a little twang, I guess? It sounds horrible when I write it that way, but it's not. Marigold is a great album

Durand Jones and the Indications - Best of the neo-soul revival acts right now, IMO. The progression from indie 4 track recordings on the first album, to a little more 70s production with strings on the 2nd album, and now moving into disco/funk on the third album is really fun to see. I don't think you could put them on and not end up grooving. 2 lead singers that can range from Smokey's falsetto to James Brown's growl.

There's more, but those are my most underrated artists ATM.

Bagley is the former #2 overall pick in his fourth NBA season and has produced when he has gotten consistent minutes. Coby White's solid but he's coming off of a shoulder injury and is an inefficient volume scorer.

And Bagley has been one of the worst defenders in the NBA and worked his way out of a rotation that he was supposed to be a centerpiece of. Former number 2 pick doesn’t mean anything now. Coby White has also been forced into being a primary ball handler and distributor.

I’m actually kind of interested to see how he fits with this Bulls team. If I’m the Bulls there’s no way I’m giving up Coby White+ to get Marvin Bagley.

Probably would have to be a 3 team deal involving Coby White.

That's not gonna happen, IMO, without more coming back to the Bulls. Bagley's value is nowhere near Coby's, and the Bulls need to keep shooters.
