  1. First live action as a unit in a new defense ends in a FG. Okay. 3-0 NO Offense goes 13 yards in 7 plays. Saints take 15 plays to score a TD. 10-0 NO Offense goes 8 yards in 5 plays. Saints take 15 plays to score a TD. 17-0 NO Packer FG to half. 17-3 Packers INT. Saints get 15 yards in 5 plays from their own 40. Packers INT. Saints go 12 yards in 3 plays for a TD. 24-3 Saints. Packers turnover on downs Saints go 21 yards in 4 plays for a TD. 31-3 Saints and it’s over entering the fourth quarter. I agree the defense was horrific. The 15
  2. Its a shame how close the previous defense was to working out at times. Always felt a cylinder off. I wasn't around for the 70s or 80s but I'd love to see a truly dominant defense in Green Bay for more than two seasons or a single playoff game at a time.
  3. This is what I was worried about as in OP. But I think Rodgers having won an MVP last year pretty much means he's as big of a believer as anyone. If he's had anyone to point the finger at for the last two NFC Championships its himself. So whatever flew into his man bun it isn't the offensive scheme. Also nice that Hackett is on the same page as me. You need to improve your guard play Nathaniel! Get it together!
  4. Mahomes contract is extremely palatable because he had two years left of a rookie contract to spread the bonus over but was otherwise a top of market contract for the years past the first two. Yes, wait until you find out what the 2023 cap is going to be. The inflation of NFL contracts is just about to recategorized as hyper inflation. That 17th game is more than a 6% increase in revenue. The top third of the players will see over half of that. Legalized gambling is an additional revenue with UNTOLD possibilities. They are trying to rip up TV deals to get more. It’s a great time to s
  5. If 1 happens we’re again right there at the end. If 2 happens my respect for Gutenkunst drops from probable to questionable. No thanks.
  6. With Rodgers, Adams, Jones, Bakhtiari, and Turner on veteran deals we are over 30% and that's only five players. Rodgers and Adams are 23% of our cap alone. If they are gone we have all the money we want for everyone else. But we also lose all championship hopes in the process. Tonyan is the next clear player who will be paid. Thankfully tight ends don't make crap. Kind of one of the a few things this offense has going for it--RB and TE are cheaper dates than WR across the board. Nearly all NFL rosters are top heavy like that on both sides of the ball. I imagine most teams will fall a li
  7. You can pay whomever if you aren't carrying Rodgers contract. Its 27 Million in cap space. It's almost better for Love to sign MVS and keep the offense intact. Next best thing to not being in development of your QB is to not be in development anywhere else. I will be clear though, MVS walking does not directly mean a 1st rounder on a WR. Amari Rodgers may be able to get over the top. Lazard gets wide open off scheme downfield too. It's just the ideal conditions call for 4.4 or less speed. We definitely don't want to be trotting 4.6 Allen Lazard out expecting him to outrun safeties gettin
  8. NFL.com Scouting Report Weaknesses Routes lack sharpness and consistent play speed Gives away stop routes prematurely Slow to gather and redirect in space Anchors on hitches and curls rather than working back to the throw Too much body catching Hands are small for his size and he suffers from focus drops Gets deep but his ball skills down the field are lacking Fails to utilize size to gain position I'd say more than 3 of these are still very clearly true after three years of run, and that's why I think he has reached his ceiling. I wouldn't pa
  9. Looked at his contract. It's acceptable this year. It is absolutely undoubtedly over for Cobb after this year however. Which points me to this being Rodgers last year. FML.
  10. I'm reading a lot lately, and a fair amount of the Packers coverage I'm seeing seems to A) stink, and B) not understand how Lafluer's offense is set up either on the field or in the front office. So I just wanted a few opinions on if you guys have been seeing this like I have. Somehow MLF has blended his version of the Shanahan run scheme with Aaron Rodgers to create a monster. I questioned the hire at first thinking a run first offense would limit what we got out of Rodgers and that would be an issue but, I was wrong. Rodgers orchestrates. The formations and pre snap motion actually seem
  11. So just wanted to reign in on this... I don't think Rodgers was happy Gutekunst traded up to draft a QB without discussing it. He wants to know where he stands long term and that's fair. It seems he is privately pushing an ultimatum that Green Bay either commit to him long term via an extension or trade him to his new long term home. There IS supposed to be a level of professionalism from players to honor their contract. But the human side of this dictates Rodgers' opinion is as important as anyones in Green Bay. Its the nature of the position, and when you are a three time MVP you should
  13. Also should be noted he dropped 3 long balls last year. I know a Packers jr. Twitter warrior has him down for 1.5 but I counted 3. KC, CHI, NFCCG. All were 6 points. Cant say I’m disappointed in MVS and a year 3 jump is probably more likely than the year 2 jump we expected. But he better take a step forward. Rodgers gave him crazy opportunities. We can’t set up play action with the run game and then NOT hit the payoff downfield because MVS needs a body catch. That’s not a starting NFL caliber WR.
  14. I’d never pay for news. One of the reporters had it on Twitter. It was a quote from the DB coach who looks vaguely computer generated.
  15. Far more likely they aren’t signing him because he doesn’t want to go through all the camps. He doesn’t need them. Same defense he’s got like 5 years experience in. Just needs to be ready. Also kinda suspect he won’t be back... Kevin King is actually asking for slot reps for what that’s worth.
  16. 6’ 200 lbs with ball skills. Age 24. Some NFL experience. He has a chance. I still think he’d be way better being a zone boundary corner but he has a chance. Development can happen anywhere along a rookie contract. Some are late bloomers. His 2017 was awesome. I’m wondering if he was on the roster hurt last year.
  17. Thoughts: Coach looks like a madden sideline character for sure. If we win the Super Bowl this year, it’s because this secondary is the best we’ve had since we lost Nick Collins. I have to take a timeout to say losing Collins was devastating. He was headed to the Hall of Fame. Didn’t have the immediate impact like Sterling did but got dam. Alexander-King-Amos-Savage is the most talented combination I can remember in our secondary across the board. Whomever the opposing QB is, Rodgers will have less to fear in the throwing windows. I wanna know the 3rd corner righ
  18. Welshman here. It’s true. We got off that potato island they called Ireland. We did it. Then we got to America and we’re like “Yeah this is cool”. True story. Don’t underestimate us.
  19. 1. No. 2. No. 3. Yes 4. 1 more year 5. No. 10 keepers has been good for keeping the league balanced. 6. Abstain. 7. Open to all. Really flexible. 8. awesome
  20. Prince is the best. He really took one for the brand. All that great music PLUS crushed Minnesota fans hearts. Low key day 2 pick.
  21. 6’5 215 EQ has the size we like to run block with. 6’1 195 isn’t the same tool bag to ask him to even start blocking. There is still a major role for an ARSB in this offense. Is just one thing out of twenty that isn’t a check mark in his game. He has high marks plenty of other places. In my dream world we collect all three, and continue the breeding process locally (bring in Venus and Serena) and create super soldier WRs that allow us to abandon having to discuss a WRs blocking ability.
  22. St. Brown won’t be a Packer. Absolutely can not run block for the life of him. Maybe he shows improvement there this year. But I don’t think he has the physicality EQ has.
