  1. NFL To Revamp Playoffs; Add 7th Team with Only 1 1st Round Bye

I believe it was 48.5 of the total revenue that year. I think the 5 billion is the number that it would have been from this past year, with 19 weeks of regular season football (assuming the 17th game is added and a second bye week is thrown in as a pot sweetener for the players to agree) in addition to the two extra teams added to the playoffs surely the total revenue will go up so that number should become even bigger. If I understand it correctly that would be an every year income for the players. As was mentioned earlier, I would hope that that number, whatever it breaks down to every year per team and then further into per player is allotted towards health purposes beyond their careers and towards their retirement. Not sure if it’s been discussed earlier or not either, but one sports writer was mentioning the benefits of lowering the amount of years of rookies contracts, I think I’m a fan of that idea. Players get their second and third contracts sooner, I think talent would be spread across the NFL landscape more evenly or at the very least more often. Owners and teams might respond by signing shorter contracts but all contracts at every position continue to grow and grow every year, imagine trying to sign your top QB, WR, LT, DE, CB every other year or every third year with inflation.
  2. 2020 FF Consensus Mock Draft [Pick 31 - San Francisco 49ers]

I’m hoping it’s either secondary, CB or S, addressed here or IOL. If the pick is kept that is, I don’t think it will be kept as @Forge mentioned earlier the lack of picks until the 5th. For the purpose of this exercise I think the niners should actually target one of the Safeties. Ward and Tartt aren’t without a lengthy injury history matched with Ward’s solid play last season may make a new contract not worth it. Now behind Ward we do have Moore who’s shown some flashes but nothing super promising when given time and Harris backs up Tartt and isnprobabky more of a STs guy then anything. McKinnkley would be BPA for me here anyways and I love Winfield so either or would be good with me. May it’s just my stubbornness but I hate the idea of watching Sanders walk after forking over a 3rd and a 4th for him. Use the money that would be spent on bringing back Ward on Sanders for a couple year contract with outs as we typically do. There are a few more deal restructures we can do to create more space as well. IOL is an area I’ve wanted addressed for a while now but it doesn’t seem Lynch and Shanny deem it all that important, atleast in terms of using high end draft capital or targeting FAs. All the WRs available is enticing enough however having used a 3rd and 4th this year on Sanders, a 2nd and 3rd last year on Deebo and Hurd, a 2nd on Pettis the year before that and multiple late round picks on other WRs I cant see them going back to that well with the limited picks we currently have. CB would make sense factoring in Sherman’s age, Witherspoons play after returning from injury and last year, and nothing much in terms of depth beyond Moseley.
  3. Buccaneers New Uniforms Confirmed

Pewter, Creamsicle and white gets my vote. Not sure how to blend it together but make it work.
  4. Cardinals expected to release David Johnson

I’ve been thinking for a while now a David Johnson for OJ Howard and a pick to reunite Arians and DJ would be a good idea for both. Jamies, Rivers whoever else the Bucs might bring in at QB should not be getting top QB money. Admittedly I have no idea where Tampa sits cap wise though.
  5. Cardinals expected to release David Johnson

16 mil. They’re better off trading him where it’s only a 6 mil cap hit I believe. Or keeping him until next year where they can trade or release him for only 3 mil.
  6. Your funds were found to be short.
  7. BrownLeader 2020 Positional Rankings

Same question but with Vaughn, Vandys RB?
  8. 2020 FF Consensus Mock Draft [Pick 19 - Las Vegas Raiders]

I agree, their LB corps is almost non existent and while I think there’s better talent at other positions like OL, WR, DE, DT their dire need for some difference makers at LB takes presidence. I could see a CB but as you said I think a CB in round 2 or 3 could help there along with a veteran brought in via FA, a good amount of depth at CB outside the 1st.
  9. Chiefs feeling themselves almost as much as @Kirill feels up on his Mahomes fathead. Watkins talking about taking the year off before creating another super bowl team, Hill talking about his plans for the olympics afterwards, Frank Clark speaking into any object that remotely looks like a microphone. Should be fun.
  10. Haha, the great journeyman Wisniewski who has actually only started the last 4 games who played an average of 10 plays per game prior to is the reasoning behind the best OL in football? Sure, why not.
  11. I know the Bengals will take Burrow, but...

But that still proves your point as well as mine. When the Bengals draft a QB, they get longevity out of them by providing the pieces for them to be successful to a degree. This isn’t a team that goes through QBs every 3-4 years, nor has it really ever been to my knowledge, which admittedly is very little being a niner fan.
  12. I know the Bengals will take Burrow, but...

The fact that you only name two QBs for the past 20 years or so is telling in and of itself how Cinci supports their Own Bs. There’s no longevity without a degree of success and no success without contributing talent. Now Cincis owner doesn’t always make it the easiest goal to accomplish but by no means are they in the Cleveland Browns territory.
  13. Kobe Bryant has died in helicopter crash

    Devastating, this hit hard
  14. Senior Bowl

Are we sure about this Montez character being an actual NFL prospect? Antonio Gibson is also a very intriguing weapon on offense.

    Indubitably

I’m there with you. Love the tools Blacklock brings.
  17. QB Rankings

Think Phillip Rivers delivery and streakiness (late career Rivers streakiness) with athleticism. The big missing component for me is how well does he understand the position from the shoulders up. Flip doesn’t get enough credit for that, I’m not sure where McDonald is whatsoever in that regard but being benched a couple times throughout the season or at least being part of rotation after starting the season as QB 1 leaves me with some doubts. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t pulling for the kid though. Somewhere Colt Brennan and Timmy Chang are smiling.
  18. Senior Bowl

Just went back and watched some Van Jefferson film after all the attention he’s gotten this week and I get Cooper Kupp vibes from him a lot. Just a professional WR with just enough athleticism to succeed and a great feel for the position. Similar age coming out of college as well as size.
  19. Official 2020 WR Thread

Bigger WRs who aren’t physical confuse me a bit and I have a hard time not being biased in a negative way once I notice it. I got that with him a bit as I do with Collin Johnson.
  20. Official 2020 Non-Rush LB Thread

Watched a couple of his games. Showed well at times when his quickness to diagnosis plays matched with his twichiness allowed him to attack and knife into the backfield. Is a high motor guy who’s all gas no brake. And it works at times. Other times he’s over pursuing or jumping through the wrong hole so he’s a bit hit or miss. Definitely an aggressive player and has good size. I question his athleticism a bit in open space and his feel for dropping back or covering a man. For a LB with good size who plays aggressively I never got the sense that he’s all that physical however. Most of his tackles are of the drag down variety and his feet often stop upon contact, granted, there’s a lot of these drag down tackles cause the guy is always moving to the ball. Meeting ball carriers there doesn’t appear to be a ton of power or violence. Which I wouldn’t mind as long as the ball carrier ends up on the ground, but the lack of physicality is present when in pursuit or flowing to the ball as well. Seems to prefer to dodge, spin, run around, or jump out of OL and lead blockers way as opposed to fill a hole, engage and shed. Not to say he can’t because I did see it a few times, more often than not though I saw him try to ole the blocker and by doing so creating a lane for the ball carrier or taking himself out of play or position to make a play. Lastly, while his blitzes are aggressive and full speed as he does almost everything on the field there doesn’t seem to be to much of a game plan or counter after running full speed into the blocker. Probably a guy you wouldn’t mind on special teams and providing depth but I’m not sure I see a future quality starter.
  21. Is Jimmy Garoppolo underrated?

I don’t necessarily agree with the point of view that says Shanny is hesitant to have Jimmy throw the ball. There were many games where Jimmy threw 25 plus times in a game, I believe in 5 or 6 games with him attempting over 30 passes some over 40, and most of those wins. But why would someone continue to call passes when the run game works so well, tires out a defense and uses the clock? Doesn’t make sense that because the niners are so effective at running the ball that Jimmy be viewed as incapable of passing. Those who’ve watched the niners throughout the year have been given a handful of examples where Jimmy not only three the ball a lot, but threw the ball a lot to get us a win. Now, he does have a very serviceable offense around him, and a top of the league defense so that helps undoubtedly, but I’m not sure those should be detractors from his play or ability.
  22. Official 2020 OT/IOL Thread

That my knock on Hennessy as well, but there also doesn’t appear to be that “finisher” aspect to his game either. Atleast from what I watched.
  23. Senior Bowl

Love hearing about Proche and Hill showing well early on, two of my favorite mid round WRs.
  24. Is Jimmy Garoppolo underrated?

Oh for sure, no idea why GB thought they were cool doing what they were doing or why a full out assault to stop the run wasn’t committed to near the end of the 3rd quarter when Jimmy hadn’t thrown a pass in 15 minutes of game time haha. I mean he went an hour and half in real time without lifting the ball to his ear haha. Still kind of blows my mind that that was CCG.
  25. Is Jimmy Garoppolo underrated?

But this has happened this year, Shanny has moved the pocket, called drag/crossing routes, and used play action. The answer to your questions can be answered through watching our games.
