  1. Do you think he'd bet the farm on a rookie QB to come into THIS system and excel as a rookie? That's a much tougher ask, IMO, than rolling with Foles. (and I "hate" Foles)
  2. To what is this in reference?
  3. We have the tag at our disposal. Use it. If he wants to be here, they'll figure out a number that works and we can back-load it; I'm sure all he cares about is the guaranteed $$$. If he doesn't want to be here, he can huff and puff but come week 1 he'll be on the field.
  4. This feels to me like it will be the Nick Foles show, with an upgrade at OT and WR.
  5. I don't agree with a lot of what he passive aggressively did during the season. It was unnecessary and, to me, petulant. He signed a contract, the 6th richest for a WR, and he was coming off a torn ACL. There are reports that other teams offered him contracts as well, but he chose us because it was the most money. That's fine, money makes the world go round. He's a solid WR, but to be paid like a true #1, you need to be a game changer. I watched him lose multiple 50/50 balls that wound up being intercepted by a corner. One cost us a TD, another he literally jumped (for no reason) and kic
  6. Sheeeeit, imagine being said organization
  7. What did Malcolm Jenkins say about Carson? Ditto Alshon?
  8. It's difficult to know what is really going on, it feels like all these tweets and comments on the matter are conjecture. As a Bears fan, if he doesn't want to be in Chicago then he can F right off. You win in this city, as a freaking QB, you'll be a God.
  9. Leno was indeed serviceable with Whitehair next to him. I'm not sure how you can debate that.
  10. I'm ready for this to be over already.
  11. Albert Breer: I think it’s pretty clear at this point that the Bears have pushed harder than the Colts to get Carson Wentz. The Eagles are probably gonna get the best return with Carson Wentz going to Chicago. I think the last piece of it, then, would become can you convince Carson Wentz it’s the right thing to do because I think the Bears would like to at least like know Carson Wentz is on board before pulling the trigger on a trade.

  13. I know you're 100% right but I'm still stupid enough to think we can acquire him, fix him and be set at the position for the next 7-8 seasons.
  14. From the Eagles forum: 97.5 is sticking with Natalie's report a week ago or so that the bears offer is still on the table they were saying I believe it was yesterday they were talking about it again. Bears first , Foles and Cohen for Wentz They also said eagles accepted the offer only to pull it last minute for some reason. Yet they believe it's still on the table even though the eagles did that. That's why the GM of the bears told Cohen he wasn't being traded because of the eagles backing out
  15. Trubisky is/was a talented, athletic, hard-working, good-natured kid. He didn't reach his potential (here). Maybe he never will -- I don't know -- but I'd bet on that player 9 times out of 10.
  16. I still think it was misdirection, but at this point it doesn't matter.
  17. I would think within the next 7 days. Wannestedt is a former Bears head coach (and Dolphins) and still has contacts in the league. Curious to see how this unfolds... a rumor circulating is that we are focused on Derek Carr and want to exhaust all options with him before looking elsewhere. Who knows
  18. Dave Wannstedt: "I’ve talked to some people in Philly. They’re adamant about moving him. He’s adamant about moving. It sounds like he would like to go to the Colts, but the Colts are not gonna budge on what they are willing to give up. So I think … I would expect it to happen for the Bears this week."

  20. My interpretation was that it's "known" that the Colts offered two second round picks plus a potential third or fourth. The team he spoke to said that we (being the other team) made a better offer than the reported Colts offer.
  21. For him, it would be 120% of his 2020 salary, which was $15M. That'd put his specific tag number at $18M.
  22. I think it's Chicago and I think it involves a 2022 1st round pick.
