Yet you found the time to write a paragraph about it. Why apologize when your intent was to trigger someone? GOAT talk has been around since before the internet and sports forums. and will be around for as long as there is sport. It has nothing to do with insecurity.

How would you like me to do that? Montana led in QBR a couple years of his career. He led in yards a couple years too. I'm sure he led in TDs as well at some point. He also had a few seasons where he wasn't top 10 in those categories. So how can he be considered in the GOAT conversation? Every QB in history has had years where they weren't the best in every category. 1 year that isn't elite should not diminish Rodgers legacy. Now if he continues playing at this level sure...

We will just have to agree to disagree. What stat was Montana elite in ever? He had some elite seasons for sure. Lots of guys have. Montana had 4 QBRs over 100 in his career, a 63% completion rate and a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. Brady has a 97 QBR, 64% completion rate and a 3:1 TD:INT ratio. Rodgers is at 103.4 QBR, 64.8% completions, and 4.25:1 TD:INT ratio. So with that in mind can anyone ever be considered the GOAT by your standards?

It's not that complicated. @AlexGreen#20 wants to say Rodgers got his coach fired. Maybe his coach is the reason he's having a down year. I don't think it's even that bad. It hasn't been spectacular but there are factors that definitely play into that. Pretty painful knee injury in week 1. Losing Jordy Nelson. 2 Rookie WRs that have played significant time with a QB that hasn't practiced half the season. A TE that seems to not be able to grab the ball. Why should one year take away from his GOAT status when that year still has him in the top 10 statistically league wide?

That's ridiculous. So one average year tarnishes a player to the point they can't be GOAT? Brady has had average seasons. Brees has had average seasons. Marino had some below average seasons. I guess the new GOAT is Mahomes since he's only had one year and has been outstanding.
  6. Week 15 Packers @ Bears "I Believe That"

No doubt. He's a damn good player and to be fair he was speaking on local sports talk radio when he said it. What was he supposed to say?
  7. Week 15 Packers @ Bears "I Believe That"

If he needed to twist that statement into bulletin board material and motivation and couldn't get motivated by the fact that the Bears haven't beat Green Bay in Chicago since 2010 and a win locks up the division for them then he should find a different sport.
  8. Playoffs? What playoffs...

4 teams ahead of the Pack for the last wildcard spot. They can all win 2 more games and as long as the Pack win all three they can still get in. I like those chances.

It's about the same as the over/under for Trubisky INTs.

The only reason I started posting in this latest discussion was because some are acting like he's having a terrible season. A few plays fall differently and the Packers win those games and he plays the same, people would be calling him MVP. While not his best season it's not that bad.

That's fair but most of those rings weren't due to him carrying the team. Top 10 defenses got him there.

If you are holding this season against Rodgers then its only fair if people hold 2012, 2013 and 2014 against Brady since his stats were worse then Rodgers this year. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BradTo00.htm

Could the leg injury have caused him to change his mechanics and now he has bad habits? He wasn't able to move for several weeks and when he did you could see he was injured. No practice for weeks on end didn't help either.

Not sure where you got your stats from but I saw NE 10th at 2.36 ppd and the Packers 15th at 2.08 Considering the significant knee injury Rodgers had that messed with his mechanics I'd say they did alright. Also difficult to deny that NE has had an easier schedule to date. They've played 4 teams currently in the playoffs and all but Chicago was at home. The Packers have played 6 games against playoff teams and only 2 have been at home.
