Peter King made a good point the other day when he said that Russ’s dead money+Stidham+journeyman vet/rookie will put us still in the 20% of the cap for the QB room. I didn’t look over the numbers myself but Peter King is pretty legit. I fully expect Sean to clean house this offseason. I think we will see us part ways with quite a few household name players and get whatever draft pick compensation we can get. Still bugs me they didn’t the 3rd+5th offer that was reportedly on the table for Jeudy in October. Oh well.

The cabinets being empty is why. -the Broncos are still a “Tiffany” franchise in the NFL. -he has full control to do what he wants, whether it’s George or someone else as the perfunctory GM, Sean is running the show. -the Walmarts have proven they will pony the f*** up for whatever. They’re also using the “richest ownership group” to wield sway.

Well, I’m not sad about this move as it’s clear to all of us Russ is not the answer. But here we are again, looking at veteran stop gaps and hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with some rookie.

For the first time since I was in high school, we’re playing the Patriots and I’m not thinking “oh f**** let’s just hope we keep it close.” And we turn it over on downs on the goal line because of offensive ineptitude. Oh well. Merry Christmas to all you fellas.

I wonder if Herbert regrets signing his extension with the Chargers. That organization has been a mess for as long as I can remember. Guys like Tomlinson and Rivers spent their entire careers there and never even got to an AFCCG. Eli (and Archie) was smart to make the Chargers trade him. A guy of Herbert's talents could have hit the open market, got paid whatever he demanded and chose his destination. He could have opted for really any but, what, 5 or 6 (KC, Cincy, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Houston, Philly) teams who already have young franchise QBs?

The Cutler-Rivers rivalry would have been fun had Mike and Jay stuck around here. I often think that Cutler's career would have gone a lot differently, and better, had he and Mike stuck together.

Meinerz was listed as a "full" participant in practice today, that's a great sign moving forward on a short week.

I run an pool at my bar, $10 buy-in and I got 21 participants this year. It's double-elimination and this past week it just ended, I was knocked out in week 6 lol.

What's helpful for us about the game being flexed to Saturday night is that we don't have the dreaded 11am kickoff. Look how lethargic we looked against Houston two weeks ago. Those 11am games have always been tough for us, even in the SB years. Detroit's run game does concern me, as does Sam LaPorta, who's really burst onto the scene this year. ARSB is a legit stud at WR, let's hope Vance will matchup PS2 on him for most, if not all, of the game. Try to make the Lions' offense one-dimensional. I do like the way we matchup against their defense, this could be a high-output game for us scoring wise if Sean can scene around Russ' limitations. I'm feeling really confident about our chances. Detroit is going to be hungry after laying an egg in Chicago on Sunday, and they have something to play for, unlike San Diego who this last week you could tell have already checked out on the season. I'll go Denver 27, Detroit 23.

Baltimore has a one-game lead for the one seed but they go to Jacksonville and to San Fran before hosting Miami and Pittsburgh. Miami has a road trip to Baltimore and hosts the Jets, Cowboys and Bills. KC's schedule is much for favorable - at NE, vs LV, vs CIN and at LAC. That loss last night could really come back to haunt the Dolphins.
