  1. I can not remember who but there was a lot of talk about Koonce on this board. I remember thinking that it was one more red flag for JMD.
  2. I think have the first couple dominos lined up but are concerned with what happens with next few after. Also this might not be their first choice but rather an acceptable choice.
  3. I am fine with a QB starting at a Carr type of level. My problem with Carr was he had issues that he was unable to fix or overcome. I like a more athletic Carr if he is willing to use his athletisism and mentally function when plays breakdown. Every QB prospect has issues that they will need to overcome and whether they do it or not is what is going to be the difference between a good pick and a bust. When you go back and watch Carr play his best ball, which was in the 5-10 range, he was willing to take off and keep the defense guessing. His worst was when he tried to stay in the pocket and the pressure got to him. Half of his issues were self inflected. The other half was his inability to process information once the play started. He was good presnap but when he was wrong it was like he did not have a plan B. This was not any coaches fault because he was this way since 2017.
  4. That is why I do not like it being sed as a tie breaker for the draft. We have had times that we got a worse pick becuase teams in our division were good. Although it does not happen as often but it can change the playoffs too.
  5. I think a better stat for the nfl to use would be SOS outside of the division.
  6. I pounded the table for moving on from Carr before most but he did throw 32 TDs in 2015.
  7. Great video. If this is the new trend and we ran it last year I have a few questions for everyone. 1. Did we have a lot of coverage breakdowns last year and how effective were we when using this? 2. If we were effective and did not have coverage breakdowns do we not fix what is not broken? Meaning focus on areas to enhance this scheme like a penetrating DT and was to defeat this scheme. 3. How do you see a team overcoming this scheme? Looks to me like a good run game and a QB that can buy time is the easiest way. If we are always in a position of 2nd or 3rd and short then the underneath plays get 1st downs. Eventually you wear down the defense. What this video points to for me is this shows that we need brains in the back half of the D, high end DT, focus on run game, and get mobile at the QB position.
  8. Gives us 1 more year to develop O'Connell. If he improves, which I think he will, we have the option to trade him. I would roll with O'Connell while giving him competition in camp. Only thing I would give him would be a chance to be the starter. No big money FA QB but rather a solid vet. Minshew/Mayfield type money. O'Connell/Mayfield/McCarthy and build up the rest of the team. Not going to win a championship but it opens up a window to develop a contender over the next 3 years while staying competitive next year.
  9. With our luck he will go back to NE and become BB 2.0. Just like so many players we have cut and go on to be better players on other teams.
  10. I have not watched that much of Hurts but it could be similar to our previous QB where the stats look great but if you watched the game they had mistakes or did not come through at crucial times. Maybe in the crucial times when coverage gets tighter and everyone knows a play needs to be made he has not reached the level needed to overcome. That is a big part of the game the all-time greats and winners in the league have. Even players like Eli and Joe Flacco were/are capable of rising to the moment. It is like a playing golf. I know guys that are scratch golfers but as soon as you put money on the line they struggle making a 5 foot putt. I went to school with people that could recite the text book and explain the theories as well as the professors but struggled to get better than a C on exams. Some people just go blank with pressure.
  11. Being able to intersect the ball at a different angle then everyone else is helpful. It is the difference between trying to catch an alley-oop and a rebound.
  12. Jets beat Philly and Buffalo. Not saying it is a lock but we got a shot. What scares me is playing on the East Coast at 10am.
  13. Miami has not defeated an winning team yet. Below 500 they win and above they lose. We are at 500 so who knows.
  14. I have not watched many Jets games but Wilson has enough talent if he can figure it out. He flashed a few times this game that would be highlight reel plays for even the best QBs.
  15. Wilson gets that if it was not for Conklin. They needed to shot themselves in the foot one last time.
  16. This is true but we have allowed less then 20 in both combined. Bad offenses and we held them to what you would want.
  17. I have Hall on my fantasy team but I will gladly take an lose if it means the Raiders stop him and we win.
  18. I liked the movement from AOC that time while keeping his eyes downfield.
  19. Somebody give the gun back to the Jets before we shot ourselves in the foot.
