I keep seeing all of these lists ranking the top supplemental draft selections and do not see any of them with Steve Young. I know that was for USFL players, but still seems like he should be at the top of these lists.

Players don’t ‘go in’ to the HoF with one specific team. http://www.profootballhof.com/heroes-of-the-game/selection-process-faq/ “Obviously, teams take great pride in the accomplishments of individuals who have been a part of their organization. Often individual teams and even the Hall of Fame will list enshrinees according to the team or teams on which they spent a significant period of time. An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined. When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor.”

@Forge man I’m glad the Sens kept their pick this year. If the Avs some how land Jack Hughes next year I’ll be ecstatic. Also notice how they mentioned that Shane Bowers got drafted by Ottawa and plays for Ottawa? I don’t follow hockey as much as I follow football and I know that’s not true. Not a bad pick though, those Tkachuks are badasses.

Yeah, I think maybe having Landeskog and Rantanen on his line might have hurt him. Hall had a phenomenal year. I’m just glad the Avs turned it around again. That team is so young and I think building what could turn out to be a powerhouse assuming they hit on these extra picks they acquired. Avs fans have a lot to thank Duchene for; that trade did more for this team than anything Duchene did on the ice for them. I liked Duchene, but shipping him out was the right move.

  6. Most complete back in NFL history

I’m not saying he’s the most complete back in NFL history by any means, and I pointed that out in my post, I’m just saying it is criminal to mention guys like James, McGahee, and Portis without Gore even getting a look. He was the best back to come out of that Miami backfield and I would say the most well rounded. I also think his 2006 season was elite on a team with not much talent around him. Again, not claiming he was the most complete back ever, just that he deserves mention over guys like the other dudes from Miami. Also I created this account 12 years ago when I was 16, but Frank will forever be one of my favorites.

I’ve seen Edgerrin James, Clinton Portis, and Willis McGahee mentioned in this thread and people blaming knee injuries on players not fulfilling their potential. I think among active RBs Frank Gore has shown to be the most complete with his blocking, running, receiving, and longevity. Gore overcame two major knee injuries in college and had a more productive career than any of the other backs from the U. Not saying he is the most complete ever, but hearing some of these guys mentioned and Gore left out bothered me. One of the best backs in pass protection I can remember watching which I think gets missed.

@Forge how do you feel about Jack Hughes next year? Best since Mathews? As an Avs fan I hope that the Sens keep their pick so that they have a chance at him next year.

@John232 thought you may be interested in this article. I think Dana White is kind of a joke, but his description of Jon Jones reminds me a lot of Randy Moss. I know Jon Jones has had more legal issues and Randy only had his issues at Marshall and the whole love boat thing, but the whole ‘imagine if he tried a little bit’ thing really connects him to Moss imo. I think it’s really a slap in the face to JR to even put Moss in the same breath as him. Shoot I even think it’s a slap in the face of TO; TO was a cancer, but I don’t think anyone in their right mind questioned his work ethic. It kind of makes me want to discount Jones, but I think he did enough to be the UFC GOAT already. I do feel the conversation for the GOAT at WR should be Jerry and every one else, and when someone brings up Moss, there should be an asterisk that says ‘could have been the greatest ever if he tried’ (remember when he was in Oakland and basically said something along the lines of ‘why should I try when no one else is’). /rant http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2781150-dana-white-jon-jones-greatest-ever-imagine-if-he-tried-even-a-little-bit

I think Kittle has much better hands than Vernon did already. He’s also a much more fluid athlete imo.
  11. Are You SMarter Than an NFL GM? 2018 Picks Thread

I think I screwed up and traded Brown in the live version, which personally I wouldn’t have done, but I also would have re-signed him which I think our FO has made pretty clear wasn’t going to happen so I guess in a year it will be pretty inconsequential.

I feel like Bill isn’t going to put up with this kind of stuff for much longer. I could see a messy ending to his run in NE.
  13. Minor Niner News Thread

I was thinking a third would be acceptable for me. We did just draft two guys fairly high this year to play in our defensive backfield, but it sounds like Reed is getting some run at FS and Moore could take a little time before he’s ready to fully contribute. Alexander fits what we want in our corners almost perfectly. I wouldn’t be opposed to giving him a shot, especially if we could land him for a third.
  14. OTAs

I think Bourne could have a bigger role in this offense than many people think. He flashed last year and it looks like he has only gotten better.
