  1. Who is the biggest surprise/reach in the 1st round?

https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2020/2/25/21151744/what-pffs-analytics-say-about-the-2020-wide-receiver-prospects “After a 2017 campaign of 61-1,087-8, Mims took a step back in 2018, totaling a less appealing 55-794-8 stat line. That’s not too shabby, but the big concern were his hands due to his 11 drops of 66 catchable balls. Returning to school after the disappointing season, Mims’ 2019 campaign went much better (66-1,015-12). He also dropped his drop rate nearly in half followed by turning heads as the big winner during Senior Bowlpractices. The sky is the limit for Mims, whose comparison to Braylon Edwards is apt for both the right and wrong reasons.” Sorry I suck at quotes on a phone, but to me dropping one of every 6 passes thrown your way is not ideal. Darrell Jackson was a very good receiver that had the same problem, but if I’m taking a receiver in round 1 I was to know the have reliable hands. I’m not saying Mims won’t turn out to be a superstar, he very well could, I’ve been wrong before. What I’m saying is that there is a bigger risk with Mims than their is with a guy like Jefferson.
  2. General off-season discussion/plan thread

The more I think about our receiver situation, the more I think Shanny will value Ruggs fairly high. Ruggs is basically a rich man’s Marquise Goodwin: He’s faster (I know they ran the same 40, but Ruggs also ran a faster on field speed than any pro since they started tracking it), a better route runner, and has better hands. My favorite is still Lamb, but I think the distance between Jeudy and Ruggs may not be as big as I initially anticipated.
  3. Who is the biggest surprise/reach in the 1st round?

I feel like a lot of media ‘experts’ moved him into the first after his outstanding combine. To me he is a day two pick. Imo the number one trait a receiver can have is catching the ball; there is a decent sized question mark with him in that regards.
  4. Around the NFL III - The NFLiest Yet

How awesome would it be if it fell through? One can dream right?

My opinion is that we could get Lamb at 13 hopefully and then Austin Jackson at 31 - Jackson is far from polished, but he's got all the raw materials to make an elite tackle. I get what you are saying but to me Lamb / Jackson > Becton / Higgins ( I also really like Higgins, but I don't think he's at the level of Lamb ).

I don't agree with this and I think this is a very general statement. Where was Joe Staley drafted? Where was Orlando Brown drafted? Of course there are going to be busts and steals at the WR position (as well as every other position); the fact is, that your chances at getting superstars go up exponentially the earlier you draft a player (again, regardless of position).

Long arms are great for the trenches. I have a propensity for liking prospects with long arms myself. Aldon Smith was a great example of this. #callmebaalke

I just did one on FanSpeak and Tua dropped to the Jags at 20. Haha, I think some of these are just drawing names out of a hat.
  9. 2020 Draft Thread

Yeah, this is the one I was poking around last year, I just couldn't remember what it was called. I do like the fact you can change the big boards on this site.

Got ya. It seems like Okudah goes before I pick every time on thedraftnetwork and CeeDee is always gone to the Jets and Ruggs to the Raiders. Doesn't really seem to change much in the versions I've ran. If you are into getting a top OT though, there is usually one available; usually Thomas or Wills. I will have to check out fanspeak.

If we wait on a receiver I hope it's Higgins. I think he's got a lot of upside. Where are you running these mocks at? Using thedraftnework.com Jeudy has been available every time I have run the simulation I think.
  12. 2020 Draft Thread

Austin Jackson could be available as well.
  13. 2020 Draft Thread

Dillon seemed like BPA at that point and brings a different element. As far as who is available, that was not up to me.
  14. 2020 Draft Thread

Pretty sure the money they sign for plays into it.

Threw a quick mock together this morning. Overall I’d be pretty happy with this outcome. https://thedraftnetwork.com/mockdraft/ACss4k6n1b
