  1. Well I mean, that's what I proposed in the first place. Not like I'm talking about assets that'd actually see the field anyway. I think it's a no lose situation & I'm with @757-NINER in that you have to respect that speed. We had Alex Smith and Teddy Ginn on the field and you could definitely tell that the defenses we faced kept an eye on Ginn.
  2. Ehh, idk. Shanny damn near turned Goodwin into a 1k receiver. If nothing else, just having that deep speed could open up things in the middle of the field. We had it in Teddy Ginn and Goodwin. It's not a bad thing to have.
  3. I definitely see where you are coming from and don't disagree with it. I would just say that Sherm is starting to put himself in that same category. Not the severe injuries, but he's missed some time each of the last couple of seasons. Ideally, I would love to bring them both back assuming we can afford it. Sherm's leadership is huge to this team.
  4. Pretty sure he's on a one year deal. May get interesting with Sherm being a FA after this year as well. Sherm has been hurt a lot lately and is older. Part of me wonders if we don't just re-sign Verrett if Sherm prices himself out of our range.
  5. Dante Pettis is clearly not getting out of the doghouse in SF. I'd trade him for Ross. Shanny was like 13 yards short of turning Marquise Goodwin into a 1k yard receiver. Also that speed on those end arounds and touch passes might be worth trying with that speed.
  6. I understand the excitement, but Fitzpatrick has been playing well. Seems kind of stupid imo, but whatever.
  7. Former first-round pick John Ross requests trade from Cincinnati Bengals, wants fresh start https://www.nfl.com/news/former-first-round-pick-john-ross-wants-fresh-start-requests-trade-from-bengals What do you guys think? Pettis for Ross? It's pretty clear Pettis isn't getting out of the dog house at this point and Shanny could probably utilize Ross on some of those end arounds.
  8. Sucks too because it looked like was set for a breakout year when he got hurt. He’s kind of just been an after thought since then.
  9. So we promoted Daniels to the active roster but he’s not active. Someone must have been sniffing around.
  10. Pretty simple answer with hindsight in mind imo. I was hoping we’d just sign Preston Smith which looking back still would have been better than trading for Dee.
  11. Why is Washington not playing Alex Smith? Apparently they don’t even find it necessary to hide the fact they are tanking.
  12. Can't hurt. He'd certainly get his opportunity to play.
  13. Lol I'm having flash backs to middle school. Injuries happen my dude. When you lose the players that make you good you generally don't stay that way; I know, it's a really hard concept to grasp. Our D-Line and running game was absolutely our strength last year and we lost Bosa, Ford hasn't played a snap, Buckner is gone, and even depth players like Ronnie Blair haven't played. Our secondary is arguably in worse shape than our defensive line too with Sherman being out an extended period of time and our 2nd & 3rd string CBs missing time as well. It's pretty hard to establish a run game when your defense can't stop anyone. But you do you man, it's like beating up a crippled kid at this point, but whatever makes your day brighter.
  14. Personally I think it’s more likely he just isn’t very good. He was drafted like 4 years ago and hasn’t done anything to earn himself a role across multiple teams. I do think they let that massacre go on way too long though.
