Thanks @R T for tallying up the scores. Congrats @{Family Ghost} on the W. Very impressive. I still can't believe I picked so many safeties, we drafted 3 of them, and I didn't have any of them. Oh well...

Iowa will get their revenge when the Packers take Cooper DeJean tonight and the record is broken again.

Looks like we've got TWO guys named Hercules now!

Valentine & Johnson scream Bisaccia picks to me. Both have extensive, quality resumes on special teams in college (and high school). Not a bad plan in my book. 7th rounders are unlikely to have a major, immediate impact on offense or defense. If they do, it's a bonus. But they can potentially have a pretty big impact on special teams, while buying themselves time to earn more playing time outside of ST.

I went ahead and tallied up everyone's scores. One quick note first: I used OP squire12's scoring system. (PackerLegend: I saw yours after I'd started grading. Apologies for misunderstanding your reply to me when you'd posted yours). Hopefully these are all right...feel free to double-check. @R T: 48 points, 5 picks right @packfanfb: 16 points, 4 picks right (one too far away to score) @incognito_man: 15 points, 3 picks right @MaximusGluteus: 30 points, 5 picks right (two too far away to score) @Packerraymond: 57 points, 5 picks right (one too far away to score) @Sandy: 35 points, 5 picks right (one too far away to score) @vegas492: 16 points, 2 picks right (one too far away to score) @tttmikeb: 12 points, 3 picks right (one too far away to score) @beekay414: 29 points, 4 picks right (one too far away to score) @Scoremore: 45 points, 4 picks right @DWhitehurst: 20 points, 1 pick right @triplejcubed3: 31 points, 2 picks right @PackerLegend: 58 points, 4 picks right @DenverPackFan: 0 points, 1 pick right (one too far away to score) @{Family Ghost}: 41 points, 4 picks right @Tperk: 10 points, 2 picks right @squire12: 69 points, 8 picks right (two too far away to score) @pack4to84: 22 points, 3 picks right @The Truth: 46 points, 5 picks right (one too far away to score) Looked like Clifford & DuBose were the two that most often hit but weren't close enough to score. Congrats to squire12. Amazing performance. And thanks for putting this together.

If this guy and our new starting QB aren't doing cheesy commercials for Hallmark stores in February, either they're too busy prepping for the Super Bowl or a marketing exec should be getting fired. -
Yeah, agreed on all counts. None of that was really a criticism...just observations relative to what I thought they would do. But that's a big part of what makes all this so fun every year. I try to figure out what I think they're gonna do and who I think might be good and/or a good fit, and then when the draft is over I can compare my expectations with reality. I'm smart enough to know that I know basically nothing about these prospects, and the FO has generally been pretty good. They get paid to do this stuff and I don't. I don't ever think I know more than they do...it's just fun for me to compare reality to what my expectations were.

Good points. Reed - Excellent perspective. I hadn't considered that, but it makes sense. I'm excited to see what Reed can do. Safety - Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't love a ton of the prospects this year either, but I know we need some help there. They obviously felt differently. That's fine...they know more than I do. 🙂 OL - Oh yeah, I totally get that perspective. I wasn't expecting a major upgrade or investment. It wouldn't have shocked me if they tried to nab Bakhtiari's eventual replacement in the first, but wasn't necessarily expecting it. More than anything, I've just gotten used to them drafting at least one (if not two or three!) OL, so I was kinda surprised when they didn't take any.
-
I'm still a bit surprised by the Reed pick...his size didn't match up with what I thought they'd be looking for. I'm excited to see what he can do, though. I'm surprised they didn't take at least one OL. Not our most pressing need, but they usually take at least one. I'm somewhat surprised in the two TE's they took while passing on Darnell Washington. I'm most surprised (and a bit disappointed) that they waited so long to grab a safety. I thought they'd address that position early and maybe even take two. And honestly, I'm surprised they used all those picks. That said, I like the class overall. I understand (for the most part) why they went the direction they did. Wooden and Brooks were some of my favorite prospects for us.
-
I was definitely expecting a bigger WR if we went that way.
-
Yeah, I know. Sorry if I didn't explain well. It's last minute and I'm sure those who are running this aren't looking for extra work with it, so I'm not necessarily expecting a change. Just thought I'd say something that there could be some sort of exception this year with four 7th round picks. If someone picks a prospect in one of their 5 spots with the first of those four 7ths, and that prospect gets chosen with the fourth of those four 7ths, they'll get no points with the current system because those picks are 3 picks away from each other despite being in the same round. If there's a simple way to make an exception for this year, I'd be for it. If not, it's all good. I'm always thankful that some of you all still make this contest happen each year...I always look forward to it.

Gonna be tough if someone has a prospect listed under the first pick of the 7th round and the prospect is picked with our fourth 7th rounder.

I'm excited about Walker's potential too, but I'm also trying not to make too much out of a few spring training games.
