  1. Hopkins for me but it’s really splitting hairs. I just feel the offense benefits and gets to be a bit more creative play calling with Hopkins. Hopkins will beat you short, sidelined, over the middle or deep. Tyreek you either want to go deep or short. I don’t recall Tyreek making the toe tap sideline move the chains catches or ever go over the middle.

  2. Best Case Scenario: Herbert makes a mahomes second year progression and the ChargIRs curse is broken. Offense stays healthy and productive but the Derwin James led defense finally hits it’s stride.

Worst case Scenario: Herbert has sophomore slump that leaves us scratching our head on if he is a franchise guy. End up with a draft pick outside the top ten But no playoffs.

Likely not. They should though. But the Packer FO is too conservative to ever make such a move.

I still hold firm that only a Super Bowl Contender should give up a 1st Round pick for him considering his age. The Patriots and Chargers, the two rumored teams, make no sense to me. They aren’t winning a chip this year, no chance. They likely aren’t winning one the year after that either.

I hope the Raiders don’t trade for him either. We aren’t touching the Super Bowl, with Julio or without Julio. I mean, I’d give a 2nd in a heartbeat, but the Falcons are going to demand a 1st.

Chargers make sense from the perspective of the goal isn’t to win a championship but to develop a fan base. A superstar quarterback goes a long way towards that goal and Julio Jones helps a quarterback tick upwards. Julio, KA13 & Mike Williams with Ekelor available as a safety valve will sell tickets and put stats up. Championship not in the equation Julio might make the Chargers more long term money then a first round pick.

All I know is if there was truly nothing to this story Rodgers would quash it quick. Schefter is a tool, but there is a real rift here that may not be reconciled.

Packers offer a Rodgers Mahomes money, the relationship will magically be healed. We can all pretend this is about something else but I’m pretty sure it’s just money and a big fat signing bonus.

It’s hidden behind a paywall. I’m not getting excited. Dean always has the money for the most important thing. Lawyers.

Bottom line, the foundation was set up but AG and had certain pledges in place. The Chargers organization was supposed to make enough money to honor those pledged. AG was a really good dude. Dean though has not been a good dude, or business owner and hasn’t been able to continue honoring those pledges.

But seriously, a lot of people loved Lamp.  I remember him rising up the draft boards.  Some people saw him as a first round pick IIRC.  What happened?

He just never found the light in the Chargers “system.” It’s hard to evaluate him. There was zero continuity, overall talent level of the line was low & then health. He definitely contributed to the lack of linemen being available on game day. I hope he finds success in Buffalo, had high hopes for him in San Diego but... things didn’t work out.

How is the estate 350 mill in debt?  Is that from the 650 mill relocation fee?

Considerable charitable pledges. At least from what I took from the article. They have splashed X amount fo money from the estate to maintain whatever AG felt needed to be maintained. The Estate has not been making money on the Chargers... probably due to low fan numbers, piss poor decisions making, a relocation fee,  an inability to sell out a soccer stadium and just general distaste for Dean.

Rather then not make said contributions the estate borrowed heavily due to a lack of the Chargers franchise providing income. The estate is now in debt and reaching the sinking point and needs to sell assets to get back out of debt. Their main asset being the Chargers. Dean could purchase the 36% the estate holds if he had the cash and conceivably the other 3 siblings as well but he is an inept weasel.

Likely Dean abused his position as Chairman of the foundation and has had the attitude that the Chargers don’t need to make money in order for him to make money and essentially screw the trust and his siblings. He pays himself a salary from the Chargers account, and his two sons also collect sizable salaries. Those salaries come before “profits” and thus the trust likely isn’t getting theres while Dean still pockets his cash and lines his sons pockets from NFL shared revenue.

I wouldn’t trust the dude in any situation.

  8. Supporting cast will always be a factor as well as level of competition. I’m a big hater of USC players coming out just because they play on a loaded roster. Like it’s hard not to look good when everyone around you is great. NFL wise though there are two quarterbacks that immediately spring to mind when I think of supporting cast. They weren’t system guys or bad QB’s hit they benefitted from their team being loaded. Trent Dilfer would have been pretty interchangeable with any average starter in the league when he won his championship and Aikman would not have had a hall of fame career had he not played on such a loaded franchise. That offensive line the Cowboys had and the production they got from Smith made Aikman’s life a whole lot easier.

I'll take over if you want. I have a pretty good idea on how to execute the draft.

Tag your it. Thank you. I just copy pasted KC_Guys depth chart into the FFMD thread, it's beautiful and gives a good jump off point.

I've heard that Patrick Mahomes is pretty bad. I'll take him and his awful contract off your hands, and I'm willing to give you the almighty Kyler Murray in return, but since he's so affordable I'm gonna need an additional 1st-round pick.

I think this is an excellent starting point. I'm willing to pull the trigger. Arizona gets #15 and a 2032 1st round pick and KC gets Kyler Murray and Arizona's 2021-2031 1st round picks.

  12. I tried to pawn off my duties as GM to any chiefs fan but so far no takers... Anyone want to release me from responsibility of the Chiefs... I will likely miss picks, haven't done much scouting and have very little knowledge of current rosters... Basically anyone willing to put any effort in at all would be an improvement over me.

I was actually going to sign up last night, but all the slots were already filled.

I'm curious to see what an outsider/rival would do in our situation. So you may not get much input from me; but I'll be watching.

    watching you today show GIF

Please take over for me... It was a flippant comment that got me in this position and I really don't have the time to commit to it.

Draft literally all offensive line. Thank me later.

That’s really all I could think of. I mean Andy has a history of both valuing and developing big offensive linemen & it’s not like your short on playmakers.

  15. How did this happen? Somehow not a single Chiefs fan volunteered and now... I'm stuck doing duties...

Hopefully you all have a plan of what you would like to have happen in the draft? Anyone want co GM powers where I give you all the power to make decisions but I still remain figurehead and reap the adoration that comes with success?

I've offered #15 up on the trading block so far for 10 years worth of 1st round picks. I'm not sure if I'd actually take it, but it's a good starting point.

  16. I feel like this is a ton of money for a player with problems staying healthy and likely previously benefitted from solid tk above average quarterback play. You’re going to go from Rivers/Herbert to whoever ends up starting in New England. Henry has flashed but so did Ladarius Green prior to injuries stealing away his career. I kind of fell Henry is a rich mans version. He flashed... but ultimately never put together the top level right end production. I have a hard time seeing him finally do that in New England. He will catch balls and contribute but I don’t see a superstar break out that outplays this deal.
