  1. The 2019 Minnesota Vikings Draft Class

First of all OZZY is the GOAT!!! I Give the vikes draft a B for now. Sweat and Dillard would have been a more sexy pick in the first yet I understand why they dropped. However Looking at our rushing totals last year and lack of interior pass protection I totally get the Bradbury and Samia picks, Two zone blocking IOL. The Mattison pick in the 3rd was also addressed with Murray leaving. Irv Smith Jr. Looks like a good value pick and will only be 21 this coming year. It seems like a perfect fit to bring him along with Rudolph probably moving on next year? Smith at LB in the 5th is fine by me as we could use a little more LB depth. Watts and Udoh along with Epps could develop? Boyd was projected 4th-7th RD apparently, Mitchell and Johnson can come in and compete with the rest of our young wideouts. And a Long Snapper from Air Force.
  2. 2019 Draft Talk

I feel that in a Zone Blocking Scheme we should be targeting players that fit in that mold. However Cody Ford for me seems like a great fit between RG or even RT (If we feel that O'Neil can move to LT eventually). Jonah Williams would probably be the other OL pick I hope might be available at #18. Williams probably won't be there as his floor is pretty high and has versatility too. After that maybe Bradbury or Lindstrom but maybe trade back if we feel we can get them in the 20-27 range. Dillard is a possibility too but I just don't know how much confidence I could have playing a rookie Day One at Left Tackle ??? while moving Rieff to LG which we don't even know if he can play that position? This is the Same problem with drafting a center? Do we know if moving Elfline to Guard would work? 3 Tech could be another option in the first round as well. Oliver is one who might drop to 18. Imagine lining him up next to Hunter with Barr and Kendricks in the A Gaps and Griffin and Weahtherly on the other side of the DL or use a 2 Down 4 LB package in Nickel. DB is always a possibility too. One can never have enough DB's and Trey, Mac, Harris and Kearse are UFA'S at the end of the year. If no CB is taken by our pick at #18 taking a long hard look at the top CB in this Class is a valid option. Once again this is all first round #18 speculation. I'd go rounds #1 Best OL #2-7 BPA.
  3. 2019 Draft Talk

The draft will be interesting. Typically a team drafts against their own division for matchups (Vikes NFC north) as well as looking at team needs the following year(Rudolph(TE) a FA at the end of this year or Harris(S) ) , and how strong at a certain positions will be in next years draft (DT is deep this year maybe not so much next year.) How a player fits in the scheme is a big thing in the NFL today. Either way this will be a important draft as well as next year because at the end of the day this is a 3 year experiment with Cousins. After that we will more than likely have to rebuild?
  4. 2019 Draft Talk

It's going to be a hard draft to predict. Right now there are about 8-10 DT's that have a 1st rd grade on them. The last two drafts we spent 2 4th Rd picks on DT's( NT Johnson and 3 tech/DE Holmes) Who knows if Richardson is coming back? O line doesn't look strong in this draft either. I know people will clamor for a OL in RD 1 but remember you can't count on a rookie to come in and save the OL. Yes O'Neil our 2nd Rd pick has looked ok, Yet if the value isn't there in RD 1 we shouldn't reach. Compton is a backup and Remmers isn't really a guard and is way over paid. Easton hasn't been healthy and as much as I root for Isodora he ends up on the ground too much for my taste. Barr is another Matt Khalil case where they have Pro Bowl first years then regress.
  5. Way too early 2019 offseason thread

32nd in the league for rushing so far shows a glaring weakness at O line (Push) we can't be throwing 50 times a game. What wins in the playoffs is a Running game(controlling clock) and Defense.
  6. Wk 2 postgame: GB 29 •MIN 29 (OT)

Vikes fan here Total garbage refs.. missed obvious false start on GB and the Mattews call was terrible cost you a tie.
  7. Week 2: VIKINGS (1-0) at Packers (1-0)

O Neil looked good at RT at least
  8. Week 1: 49ers (0-0) at VIKINGS (0-0)

Hate to say it but that Pilly vs ATL game scared me. I watched portions of it and every play I was wondering is there going to be a penalty. That's is not how football is played.
  9. 2018 NFL Draft Thread - Day 1

Landy (DE) bends really well but that's about it.. can't play OLB not big enough to play against the run he is a 3rd down pass rusher right now but you never know? At 62 go TE or OL or even LB i'm kind of done with Barr and don't want to pay him as it isn't a premium position...at the same time I don't want to pay diggs either even with the minny miracle not worth 15-16mil in my mind...
  10. Vikings select...Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

yeah ucf who claimed they would win the NCAA divison 1 title this year....................
  11. Vikings select...Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

    Still got LT Rieff/LG Eaton/C Elf/ RG/ Compton/Isidora/Remmers/RT Remmers/Hill....OL is still a need yes.
  12. Vikings select...Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

What a lot of people don't understand now is that in the NFL Salary allocation is a HUGE thing. Diverse Allocation of money to QB/RB/TE/WR/OL/DL/LB/DB/ST is big. Getting young players on cheap contracts with versatility are key. The NHL, NBA and MLB are all seeing this( Less the MLB as they have no salary cap). But the principle is still the same
  13. Vikings select...Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

5th year option on a premium position is key. PR/KR is versatility too. Just remembered next year we have 11 picks next year so far... speilman must be creaming his paints.
  14. Vikings select...Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

Don't hate the pick off field issues caused him to drop. With Rogers and Stafford in the division you must always draft against your division...Waynes might be done and who knows about mackensie. OL wise I'm Not super worried so far as I like Isiodora and Compton or even (Remers at RG if we draft a RT) Feel Bad for Cleveland by the way...Reach at 1 and another Reach at 4....? Dang Packers got a 1st next year for nothing.
