I would sit Fields for the rest of the season. They cannot protect him and the only way the offense works is with him running the ball... that isn't going to change this season. Sit him and bring him back when he has an NFL OL in front of him.

The draft discussion will really be changed by whether they go nuts in free agency or not. I know they need to spend money, but a lot of that can be done in house if they choose to take that route. If they do not go nuts in free agency and rely on the draft it will be very interesting to see how that effects what they do. I go back and forth on whether I think they will go crazy in free agency. Jack Conklin would be a great addition, but do they think they can draft the RT of the future?

If they really like a couple guys in the draft they may just keep Patrick to “compete” And get replaced by the young guy.

ESPNs projection has us getting the #2 pick. We have the 2nd hardest schedule left. That would be the dream. Then we can fleece a Qb needy team

We cannot come back late in games because our OL cannot block a drop back passing game... they aren't good enough.

This is going 100% how it was planned to go. This is the best case scenario. -The QB is a super hero who is carrying an understaffed O to relevance. -The D is trash. The refs are just making sure that it goes how it is suppose to.

Equiaiemeous St Brown will be inactive. The drops have made it an easy decision.

Whether he does big or mid tier in free agency he needs to land a better class this year. His free agent group from last year has done nothing and it is really hurting the floor of this team. Guys like Muhammad are just a waste of a roster spot.

Jones should be our 3rd DT on a good defense. He has a nice pass rush burst, but has been pretty weak against the run from what I have seen. Miami had no issues moving him way off the ball. I think Gipson and Robinson compete to start across from an actual DE added in free agency or the draft. Every other DLmen can be gone.

We should claim every DLmen with a pulse. He is having a bad year, but we are non-professional on the interior right now.

They could choose to draft offense for sure. DT and LB has a lot of nice options. The DE talent in free agency does nothing for me. A bunch of guys you are going to over pay to be meh starters.

The only chance we have at landing a double digit sack guy in the 2023 offseason will be in the draft.

I am very concerned with what their OL does to our DL. They are going to brutalize our DL and that gives them a chance.

DE is a wasteland in free agency. Fix the OL in free agency and hit the defense in the draft.

I think the Bears should offer a real contract to Odell Beckham for the rest of this season and 2 additional seasons. Real money, real guarantees, and make him say no. We have the cash, he has said he wants a multi year deal, and if we are going to go all in on Fields let’s jump the line and get frisky. 2.25 years 45 million/25 guaranteed Make him turn that down to chase a ring for 2 million with Buffalo. Risky? Sure, but we are the big stack at the table and double the next guy.

What does Ballard even do there? Sounds like Irsay is the GM,

I cannot get over how many teams that were planning to compete are just trash this season.

1. Jack Conklin-they could keep him, but they have huge money at OG and Wills coming up soon. Pocic at C may be their focus. 2. Orlando Brown-I think they are likely to keep him off the market even having a down year, they do not have many options. 3. Jawaan Taylor-Tight on space, paid Robinson, have a 2nd round pick waiting to play, I think it is likely he hits the market. 4. Kaleb McGary-They have the cash and would be surprised if he left. 5. George Fant-Likely staying but they gave Brown a 2 year deal. 6. Mike McGlinchey-Likely hits the market

He has been awesome. Legit should be in the conversation for the Pro Bowl.

At this second yes. But if we are talking about investing our 1st round pick… I would still put that towards Fields development and sign solid free agent DL over the other way around. Why for me it is important to add at a plus free agent OT. Give me Paris Johnson and Solid DL free agent over Tyree Wilson and a solid OT option. Fields need some legit talent around him. Perfect world: give me Jack Conklin and Tyree Wilson.
