Makes sense! I wonder if a massive pile of poop in the water would dissuade a shark.......
  3. TAPT Version 70.0 Steve Dowden follows the rules

I vowed to never scuba dive...over my fear of sharks. Then...I got the chance to scuba in the ocean. I was a nervous wreck. The guy training me for the dive had to calm me down and he stayed with me for the entire dive. Towards the end, he motioned in the water for me to look above my head. Yep. There was a shark. Thing could have been a three footer, but my mind's eye saw Jaws. We got out of there, went to the surface and the instructor told me that there were sharks all around us, he just alerted me at the end. I cursed at him, then laughed. I survived and the dive was amazing, but I'm done now. No need to do that again. Ever. I've caught a lot of fish in my life. Filleted and eaten many of them. Would be ironic if I turned out to be food. So yah, done.
  4. 5.175 - Kamal Martin [LB; Minnesota]

But...the scouting report from some draft site says he has a lot of "cons". I mean, I get it, but getting overly "up" or "down" on someone when there isn't good tape and going off of some internet site just turns me off. Maybe if I was younger I'd care more about what other people think instead of thinking critically myself. It is about as bad as the puff pieces that are coming out now and will be in full force really soon.

I think someone who scores 19TD's is not a complementary piece. The sad part about him is that our centerpiece is Rodgers due to that contract, so that may mean that for us, he is complementary. Unless you can have multiple centerpieces. Like Favre/Green. The dude proved last year that he can catch and break games open and he's a threat whenever he touches the ball. He is scheme dependent, and from all accounts, MLF wants to run first and run often. Sign me up for 3/$21. I'd even go 3/$30. He's gonna get paid somewhere. I'll actually be sad if he leaves GB after this year. That is how much I've come to adore Jones. Very few backs run as quick as he does and make it look so effortless. When I think about what our offense could be...I just can't help but see many sets that include both Jones and Dillon in the backfield, then motioning Jones out to see what the defense does. Makes me drool a little. But just a little.

Totally. I have friends that will come over and pressure wash my stuff just to use it! I can't believe I went this long without owning one. Gas pressure washer that is, not underwear.

I don't like it either, but it is a reality. And really, maybe we should embrace it a little. We aren't stacked in the WR room. Our QB isn't Prime anymore. Might as well try the Bronco/Elway approach for a couple of years.

I view Dillon, right now, as starter material. You can do worse than him in the league. I view Williams as a low end #2 RB, but high end #3. I like the kid, but his game is very replaceable (Williams). But, let's be very clear, he's not the same kind of back as Barkley. Few are.

I look at it differently, and that is because I do have a soft spot for Jones. We lack playmakers on offense. Jones is one of them. Dillon is an unknown right now. MLF wants to run the ball. We will need 2 backs, and maybe even 3. Thunder and Lightning make sense to me, especially if our WR corp remains the same. I'd pay to keep Jones on the team, but I wouldn't go nuts to do it. If we had Prime Rodgers and were airing it out, I'd totally agree with you. But we don't. And won't. So...might as well have a very strong running game.

    K. So. I had a lot of gift cards laying around. Went out and bought a gas power washer. 3200 psi. I've been using that thing a lot lately, and I gotta say this.... As a man, using that thing is as much fun as you can have and still be wearing underwear.
  11. Packers 2020 WR Corps

Concerning Wagner....at the very least, he should be very familiar with the rushers in our division. Mack/Flowers/Hunter will not be anything new to him.
  12. 2020 Packers Defensive Backs

Man. There's really not much better (football related) than hearing that your highly drafted safety, who is about 200 pounds and runs a 4.36 40, is also an intelligent player. Gives me goosebumps.
  13. Green Bay Packers Salary Cap Thread

I want a 6-7M/average. But I rarely get what I want. Add 30% to that number and I'm guessing 9M average over 3 years. I can even live and be pretty happy with a 3 year, $30M extension. I don't want to pay a running back, but Jones is a true weapon and doesn't have a lot of mileage on him. Pairing him with Dillon is pretty exciting.
  14. 2020 Offense Outlook

Best trait about Begelton is his hunger. He doesn't have the measureables of the "other" WR's on the roster. But...I think just his presence is going to push the bottom of that depth chart. My guess is that he will be a practice squad guy.
  15. Packers 2020 WR Corps

Jaguars? McCardell and Smith? But they were pre-2009. That's about my only guess. Maybe Edelman and Hogan for the Pats? Or Edelman and Ammendola?
  16. 2020 Green Bay Packers OL

I agree, but only if you count Lewis as an OL.
  17. Cheese Curds: Green Bay Packers Updates

We all said that about Rodgers versus Favre, too. Love is in an ideal situation to sit and learn without being thrown to the wolves. And we Packer fans get to see Rodgers with an even bigger chip on his shoulder. Look. Anyone can spin the Love selection as a great pick, or a terrible pick. Time will tell. Just like it did with Rodgers.
  18. 2.62 - AJ Dillon [RB; Boston College]

True. But....Jones is gonna kill in the fourth quarter if Dillon has been pounding on the defense. Telling yah, this selection to me sets Jones up for an even bigger year. Maybe fewer carries early, but more later when he's fresh and the defense is a little gassed. Like, I don't expect much more out of Dillon as a rookie runner than what J. Williams is gonna give us. Maybe a click better with vision. But with those two physical runners, Jones is gonna have even more explosive plays.

    "moist"
  20. 1[12]: Rashan Gary [EDGE; Michigan]

I was pretty skeptical about the selection of Gary. I didn't feel like he loved football. I didn't feel like he was a hard worker. A year later, I can say that I was certainly wrong about the "not a hard worker" part. I'm still not sure if he loves football. But, to me, that needle is trending in the right direction. I'm now pretty excited about his future. I can't wait to see him get more reps in games. You gotta account for Z, P and Clark already. Should leave a lot of opportunity for Gary.

    K. Here's a post away from this topic.... Just gorgeous on Friday and Saturday. I was able to detail my boat! Vacuumed the interior, steamcleaned the carpet. Armor All'd the interior, buffed out every smudge on the interior glass. Took a solvent to the glass exterior, removed sludge, water stains...etc. Washed her down good. Got a good ceramic wax on her. Used another water mark remover, then waxed again. And...to make matters even better? I got to use my new gas pressure washer! God I love that thing. Boat is looking gorgeous. Took it out on Saturday, little crazy on the lake, but I wanted to get he carpet dry. All worked great. Even wiped it down afterwards. Too bad it will soon be full of walleye blood again. And...my COVID yard is going crazy. Like Hulk-green. Coming in thick, too.
  23. 2.62 - AJ Dillon [RB; Boston College]

Nope. Not needed. But, those big guys with light feet are awfully hard to come by. It is what made them great in college and in the pros to some extent. Dillon just doesn't have those light feet. He can be very effective, as I think his vision is good, balance is very good and arm tackles aren't bringing him down. I agree as an "end of game" back, but I also think he's the "beginning of the game" back. If he can wear the D down just a little, it makes Jones every more effective as his speed will catch some guys off guard.
  24. 5th Down Depreciation Thread

Just wondering if Rodgers has a "handshake" like Randy Orton (of WWE fame). If not familiar, google "Randy Orton hand".
