  1. 2019 Draft Discussion

Watched plenty of tape and actual games, we will see what kind of pro he will be, just guessing.

  3. 2019 Draft Discussion

Last year I wanted a three player combination of Roquan Smith, Jaire Alexander, and James Washington. I believe this trio is going to be highly productive for years to come and obviously you have to do some wheelin-and-dealin to get this done. This year my three player combination is Devin White, Andre Dillard, and Deebo Samuel. Just like last year IMO this draft would be transformative.
  4. This article speaks to TT falling asleep at the wheel (literally), it was his responsibility to ensure accountability and he failed miserably, yet still many defend him.

Winovich at #30, no thanks, not even at #44

So, I have to say overall I am happy with what Gute did, however I was hoping for some difference making impact, i.e. Earl Thomas. Honestly, I don't know much about Amos other than watching him when we played the Bears and he didn't stand out. This observation is directly in line with comments about him after he was offered, "doesn't make the big play, but doesn't give up the big play". Unfortunately, what is seriously lacking in the Packer defense is playmaker's and it remains unclear if any of these FA additions will offer play making field tilting impact. So the debate continues, swing for the fences or sign 4 hole plugger's, hopefully one of these hole plugger's becomes a field tilter. I do think that Gute had a reasonable 1st draft, JA is a playmaker and is only going to get better. I want to see one more year of Jackson at CB before converting to FS which I think is his most natural position in the NFL. Had high hopes for Burks, but this year he needs to show something. J'mon and Madison looking like early whiffs, punter, jury's still out, and MVS/ESB at a minimum serviceable 4/5, maybe more, lots more. IMO King can be a huge difference maker if he can play 16 or 19! Still think we need to bring Breeland back, but maybe the thinking is Tramon for one more year. Hopefully, the draft brings some difference making talent to the defense with #12. Still leery of Oliver and Gary, big boom bust potential.

    I'm ready to pay him

because it may possibly be more money in the bank than a three deal that doesn't see completion

I believe Berry is the highest paid S at 13 per, for ET 2/24 fully guaranteed with Superbowl incentives to push him above Berry. IDK 24 million fully guaranteed may be worth more than a 3 year deal not full guaranteed, I don't see a 24 million dollar signing bonus on a three year deal, do you?

Forget Edge in FA, give me E. Thomas 2/24 guaranteed with SB incentives, rings = highest paid safety, really think he could be as good a FA for GB as Woodson, both super intelligent playmaker's which translates as they age.
  14. 2019 NFL Combine

Caveat Emptor, all of these guys train for this event and know what their perceived weaknesses are, combine weight will be very different than playing weight, trust the tape. Not buying Oliver or Gary regardless of what they do at the combine. I focus on competitiveness and production, unless someone is an outlier, good or bad at the combine don't get caught up in numbers.
