  1. 2020 NFL Free Agency: Rumors and Reports

Will be interesting to see if Douglas can turn Williamson into an asset (either pick or maybe part of a package for an edge or OT) rather than just cutting him. We're not in dire need of the space right now so it's not like teams can look at it and assume he'll be cut soon.
  2. 2020 Mock Off-Season

New York Jets Mock Off-Season So this is my first mock off-season. I always enjoy the ones posted here so I figured I'd give it a shot. This is probably more in the vein of what I would want to do and kind of hoping JD would do the same. I used OTC to help project some cap #'s and tried to give a little wiggle room should they be off. -------------------------- $56 Million Starting Cuts/Savings Trumaine Johnson ($3 million) Avery Williamson ($6.5 Million) Quincy Enunwa ($2.4 million) Brian Winters ($7.2 million) Daryl Roberts ($6 million) Josh Bellamy ($2.25 million) Jonathan Harrison ($2.25 million) Blake Countess ($1.2 million) I think these are all pretty agreeable cuts. Enunwa is the only one which is tricky with injury guarantees. Post Cuts: $86.8 Million Let Walk Robby Anderson Trevor Siemian Lachlan Edwards I just think someone is going to hit that $15 mil per for Robby and that’s just too rich for my blood with a receiver like him. Wish him the best and he’s a great UDFA story…but I think we can accumulate equivalent and greater weapons for Darnold. Resigning Brian Poole – 3 years 24 million (Team Option 3rd Year) ($6 million cap hit) Jordan Jenkins – 4 years 40 million ($8 million cap hit) Terrell Basham – 2 years 5 million ($2.5 million cap hit) Neville Hewitt – 2 years 5 million ($2.5 million cap hit) James Burgess – 1 year 3 million ($3 million cap hit) Alex Lewis – 2 years 8 million ($4 million cap hit) Kelvin Beachum – 1 year $6 million ($6 million cap hit) Jenkins may well exceed that #. I think it’s pretty fair. Obviously Poole had a great bounce back year and seems like a good fit in the slot for us. Basham as a rotation piece is worth keeping around, as is Hewitt to compete along with Burgess and Cashman next to CJ. Alex Lewis is what you want as an interior back up/ spot starter and with Beachum if we can get him back on a 1 year at close to that number it’s a no brainer. Restructure: Jamison Crowder: $5 million savings (guarantee $5 million in 2021) CJ Moseley: $10 million savings (converting roster bonus into signing bonus prorated into 2022) $69.8 million entering free agency Free Agency Graham Glasgow – 3 years $28 million ($8 million cap hit) Joe Thuney – 5 years $60 million ($8 million cap hit) Marcus Gilbert- 1 year $4 million ($4 million cap hit) Breshad Perriman – 3 years $24 million ($6 million cap hit) Dante Fowler Jr. – 5 years $80 million ($14 million cap hit) Jimmy Smith – 2 years $10 million ($4 million cap hit + team option on 2nd year) Case Keenum – 2 years $12 million ($6 million cap hit) Glasgow and Thuney are clear targets to sure up the interior line. Glasgow obviously also brings some positional flexibility that would allow us to enter the draft with more flexibility and give us more grace in developing a potential rookie center. Marcus Gilbert gives us a solid T should Edoga not progress as hoped. Perriman fills the deep threat void left by Robby. Fowler, while inconsistent as times, gives us the rusher we’ve been dreaming about. I don’t love bringing in older DBs but Jimmy makes some sense if the price is right. Case is a solid vet back up. Nothing more, nothing less. Post Initial Free Agency: $19.8 million Draft: Trade: TB moves up for QB trades 1st, 3rd, and 6th 14: CeeDee Lamb, WR (Oklahoma) A slight move down gives us a few more picks to work with and we’re still able to nab a potential #1 wideout. 48: Trevon Diggs, CB (Alabama) A high upside DB that can hopefully be our #1 corner by 2021 68: Matt Hennesey, C (Temple) 76 (TB): Trey Adams, T (Univ. of Washington) Back to back OL. Hennesey gives us the C with starting potential in year one. Adams has navigated back injuries, but when healthy seemed like a round 1 LT. 79: KJ Hamler, WR (Penn State) More weapons for Darnold. More speed to for Gase to play with. Big time return potential 110: Lamar Jackson, CB (Nebraska) Another DB with some upside. Hopefully won’t need to be thrown in the fire 141: Antonio Gibson, RB (Memphis) A Ty Montgomery replacement. Maybe Gase will know what to do with him… 172: Michael Turk, P (Arizona State) 175 (TB): Dominik Eberle, K (Utah State) Back to back specialists. I know not everyone will be a fan of two rookies here, but with a coach like Boyer it’s worth the risk I believe. 203: Robert Windsor, DL (Penn State) Just a solid rotation guy with that cliché “motor”. Could step into Anderson’s role in 2021. Post Draft Class Signing: $11.3 million Jamal Adams Extension 6 years $90 million (2020 cap hit increases from $7 million to $12 million) Entering July 2020 Cap Space: $6.3 million Assuming there will be a handful of late depth signings. Depth Chart QB: Sam Darnold, Case Keenum RB: LeVeon Bell, Antonio Gibson, Josh Adams WR1: CeeDee Lamb WR2: Breshad Perriman, Vyncint Smith Slot: Jamison Crowder, KJ Hamler TE: Chris Herndon, Ryan Griffin, Daniel Brown *With the extensions handed out I have zero clue what's going to happen with Wesco* LT: Kelvin Beachum, Trey Adams LG: Graham Glasgow, Alex Lewis C: Matt Hennesey RG: Joe Thuney RT: Chuma Edoga, Marcus Gilbert DE: Quinnen Williams, Henry Anderson, Robert Windsor, Nathan Shepard, Kyle Phillips NT: Foley Fatukasi, Steve Mclendon OLB: Dante Fowler, Jordan Jenkins, Terrell Basham ILB: CJ Moseley, Blake Cashman, Neville Hewitt, James Burgess CB1: Jimmy Smith, Lamar Jackson, Bless Austin CB2: Trevon Diggs, Nate Hairston Nickel: Brian Poole FS: Marcus Maye, Rontez Miles SS: Jamal Adams K: Dominik Eberle P: Michael Turk KR: KJ Hamler, Antonio Gibson PR: KJ Hamler, Antonio Gibson
  3. Pre Super Bowl 5 Rounds With Comp Picks

As a Jets fan, if the draft fell this way through 5 rounds I'd start personally building a Joe Douglas statue
  4. Training Camp

And there ya go. Marcus Cooper brought into the fold. Hopefully there's another move still to be made to sure this group up. https://nypost.com/2019/08/13/jets-sign-marcus-cooper-amid-cornerback-hell/
  5. Offseason news/rumours

I'm a big fan of adding Garcia. Classic low cost/high reward situation. If healthy we added a 2017 draft pick who had/has starting LT potential. As for Vacarro...I'd dig it if Bowles has a Deone Bucannon type plan to deploy him. If not and he's just a 3rd safety for us I'd rather look at Reid (unlikely given this team's association with the current administration) or a younger option to compete with Terrence Brooks, who also had a decent year last year as our 3rd safety.
