  1. Aaron Rodgers Appreciation Thread 4.20

Except Favre's last season with the Packers was MVP-quality; he probably would have had his 4th MVP if one of the greatest offensive teams of all time didn't occur the same year.
  2. 1.26 - Jordan Love [QB; Utah State]

A few positives that I think come from this: 1) Favre and Rodgers will undoubtedly become closer from this, which is an overall plus for the organization. Rodgers sees what Favre went through and Favre is able to observe a very similar scenario as an outsider rather than as a participant. 2) Rodgers will do a better job of mentoring Love than Favre did for Rodgers. Basically the inverse of point #1. Rodgers didn't love how he was treated by Favre in GB and is unlikely to do the same to Love after going through it himself. 3) I've always been a fan of drafting and developing 1st and 2nd round QBs rather than throwing them into the fire year 1. It may not be what Love had envisioned, but this is ultimately the dream scenario for a raw, talented prospect like him. 4) We get a very motivated Rodgers who wants to keep his job for the next 2-4 years.
  3. How does Brady's Buccaneers do this season?

Brady is a now below-average QB who has had a HOF career. NFC South is solid, and significantly better as a division than the AFC East has been. NFC North has three tough teams (Packers, Vikings, and Bears) and AFC West has the Chiefs plus three other competitive teams. Tampa's strength has been throwing down the field, which has been Brady's weakness at this point in his career. I don't see any better than 8-8 to be honest.
  4. Build Aaron Rodgers' Ideal Pass Catching Corps

How long are we going to do this though? It's been a few years now of "well maybe they will develop more next year." Just my opinion, but MVS had all the chances he could ask for this year - started the year as the #2 behind a top 10 WR who draws a ton of attention, a few weeks as the presumed #1 when Davante was hurt... And he did zero with his opportunities. I'd be happy to have him as our #4 or #5 WR next year, but that's it.
  5. What are your favorite sports radio shows?

*Dong sound* You don't get the show.
  6. "They just need time to develop." It's time to just admit that our neglect for adding playmakers on the offensive side of the ball has really come back to bite us in the ***. Guys like Lazard and Kumerow are fine against the Raiders and Chiefs, but when you actually play a good defense? What a joke. Arguably the worst receiving corps in the league. Someone was arguing with me before that we are average (~15-16th) league wide at that position.
  7. I agree. And it would be one thing if he gave Adams a chance to catch some of those balls... But they're always way overthrown.
  8. Our receivers still fine?
  9. Unpopular opinion so go ahead and lay it on me, but I don't find these gameday posts funny nor useful. If I was glancing and trying to get basic game details (e.g. date, time, location, injury list), which is how the first post in these threads used to be in years past, they are nowhere to be found. Additionally, if I was a lurker or someone who stumbled across this site and was wondering if I should get involved with posting, a bunch of inside jokes that aren't very funny that come off as weird is not how I'd want our forum and team portrayed. It used to be useful info with a few random inside jokes thrown in for the people who browse and post regularly, but that is so far from what this is now. Like I said, unpopular opinion because everyone seems to like it. Just wanted to give my two cents.
  10. Were they getting open to be targeted? Personally, I think the receiver issue should be priority #1, even when Davante comes back. It's great that Rodgers has learned how to target the TEs and RBs. But teams will adjust. None of that changes the fact that we have arguably a top 5 WR but bottom 5 receiving corps overall.
  11. 2019 Day 1 Draft Thread (NO SPOILERS!)

    And lack of production theme?
  12. Superb Owl LIII Game Day Thread

Imagine if Rodgers had a defense who gave up 3 points in a Super Bowl. Heck, any playoff game. The Patriots' defense is consistently underrated and underappreciated through the playoffs. It's the defense and offensive line that won this Super Bowl for them, despite Brady throwing 2 INTs in the AFCCG and 1 INT today.
  13. Conference Championship Games

The protection Brady has been getting this possession is insane
  14. Week 15 Packers @ Bears "I Believe That"

Unpopular opinion: trade Rodgers this offseason and receive one of the larger hauls in history for a trade. Reload with 1st round talent, hire a coach who can scheme an offense and succeed with a middle of the road QB. Alternative: hire a coach who can reign Rodgers in, similar to Mike with Favre at the end of his career. I think this year just magnified a lot of Rodgers' deficiencies, and he is only getting older. I don't see next year being any better.
  15. Preseason Week 4 - GDT vs. Kansas City

Stuck with the KC feed from Reddit and wow is this painful. I get that it's their home feed, but still, they have yet to say the name of a Packers' player except for Kizer. Crazy.
