  1. BTW, I was told in this thread that that 50-yard pass wouldn't have counted anyway since it didn't travel 10 yards in the air. Apparently QBs have nothing to do with YAC. Someone needs to tell Joe Montana this.
  2. Yeah, and if Hilliman didn't fumble on the 2 yard lines, that "points per drive" stat would look a little better. Literally no one thinks Jones lit up today. A solid B game for a rookie QB playing on an at best ok offensive team missing its best player.
  3. That's insane. As good as Barkley is, I think he has only 1 such game.
  4. If DJ sucked today, I don't know what Haskins did. Also, DJ's game and Shurmur's offense is predicated on shorter passes and yards after the catch. He's very good at hitting guys in stride. Brady and Montana are two all time greats that made all time great careers based off it.
  5. I love how Jones has his 2nd career game doesn't light it up against the Redskins like 3 QBs with at least 2 more seasons of experience and he's getting called out. He wasn't great, and made a couple of bad plays, but also made good plays. He's supposed to light it up every week?
  6. OBJ is a notoriously slow starter, but I wonder if this was more of a football decision than we think. Maybe OBJ is not who he once was, lots of injuries on that guy.
  7. A bit of an up and down game for Jones today. Stats would have looked better if the refs didn't hose them on one 50 (I think) yard play. Haskins looks like he's not ready. But that whole offense sucks right now. I'd rather have him in there than Keenum if I'm a Skins fan. Keenum offers nothing.
  8. Peppers with the same amount of TDs as OBJ on the season.
  9. These refs are bush league in the Giants game. They're really bad at their jobs so they make a call on every ******* play.
  10. My team is getting the benefit of the calls but the officiating has been atrocious in the Giants-Skins game.
  11. Jimmy G had like 160 yards in the first game...
  12. This discussion is completely TBD but that game by Jones is arguably better than any Darnold has played in his career. I'm not taking a shot at Darnold he might be great or even better than Jones. But widely believed to be generational QBs don't go #3 overall after a guy with as many question marks as Mayfield. He still may be generational, but that's not some widely held belief. The guy had plenty of warts and I know many Giants fans believed that BEFORE they drafted Barkley. At this point if not for predraft hype Darnold would be considered promising and that's it.
  13. I just saw this response, basically as I said every draft there are reaches. Mike Mayock made a significant reach himself and arguably considering the relative importance of the QB position, that reach was a bigger one. The ******* Cardinals drafted a guy #10 overall just a season ago and traded him for pennies on the dollar for a QB with lots of question marks because he fits in an unproven coach's system. Yet, you heard NOTHING like this. The problem is this is NY and Gettleman has a grating personality. He sounds like a clown and says stupid ****, so the media treats him like a clown who says stupid ****. Problem is there's no correlation of sounding the part and talent evaluation.
  14. I think Eisen has the stat about Jones being the first QB ever to put that stat line up blatantly wrong but he's making my point. There have been plenty of reach picks, for crying out loud, in the same draft before Daniel Jones Mayock reached something fierce based on scouting reports. I've never seen a pick as vilified as Jones. Rich Eisen hasn't seen it in his 16 years of following the draft either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1ha1QIiYcQ&feature=youtu.be
