While he plays with good toughness and has good athletic traits, his ability to stay connected in coverage has been problematic. Inconsistencies in man coverage combined with a smallish frame are a concern in my opinion, but his combination of long speed and short area quickness has him rising up the board. Draft Projection: Rounds 4-5 Sources Tell Us: “He’s really shooting up the board in our building. Great tester but he shows it on tape with how athletic he is in coverage. Although it looks like a 3rd round pick an Matthews was far too much for Darby. We invested a 2nd, 2 3rds and a 4th on CB in the past two seasons.
