Where do you play a 285lb guy who isn't a freak athlete.

He needs to cut weight, get down to 270 and play the Datone Jones role.

I thought he IS a freak athlete.  I'm not pretending to understand the X's and O's, and I'm not saying you're not right, I just don't get it.

I don't see this kid playing EDGE. I see him as a guy who could possibly slide inside on passing downs and rush the passer. Not sure he holds up as a 3 down 3-4 DE and definitely not fast enough to play EDGE in a 3-4.

Hmmm

The 6-3, 287-pounder tested into the 93.1 percentile of SPARQ scores among defensive linemen, the second highest among players at the position (trailing only first-round pick Taven Bryan).

Looney finished the 40-yard dash in 4.87 seconds, put up 28 reps on the bench press, hit 35.5″ in the vertical and 9-5 in the broad and finished the three-cone in 7.32 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds.

His athletic profile actually compares favorably to Datone Jones, the Packers first-round pick in 2013.”

He's a squishy 287, Jones was a cut 283.
