Hey there, Mr.  We all know what you are alluding to.  I don't want to have to wield the banhammer, so keep it family-friendly.

I was clearly referencing Roberto Augayo, the mighty-legged kicker who can't hit the broad side of a barn. Get yo mind outta the gutter.

Sorry, you're right.  NudeTayne, this is a warning for making false phallic accusations.

I am excited to see how the final roster plays out this year.  I think we have some tough cuts for a change, and are not just keeping guys with the strongest pulse.

Something else I have not seen others talking about, with this change in rules to have only one cut down day, is how chaotic and crazy the mad dash will be around the league to pick up the scraps and sign guys that they think can help their team.  It should rival day one of free agency in the off season, only with less superstar talent available.

My Updated Projected 53-man roster.

OFFENSE

QB – 3

Brock Osweiller

Cody Kessler
DeShone Kizer

RB – 3
Isaiah Crowell,
Duke Johnson,
Matt Dayes

FB - 1
Danny Vitale

WR - 5
Corey Coleman,
Kenny Britt,

Ricardo Louis-
Rashard Higgins
Jordan Leslie

TE – 3
David Njoku,
Seth DeValve,
Randall Telfer
- Telfer is the most underrated player on the team. One of the best in-line blockers in the entire league. Has down the field catch ability as well. A younger, more explosive and athletic Gary Barnidge. There was no reason to keep big play Gare with his declining movement skills. Looked like he was running in sand. Loved Gary as a person and Browns fighter. Salute to him.

LT – 1
Joe Thomas,

LG – 3
Joel Bitonio,
Marcus Martin

-Starter ability. Needs to improve. A new chance and Coach Wylie can help him improve.

Spencer Drango (Swing LT/G)

C – 2
J.C. Tretter,
Austin Reitter
.

RG – 2
Kevin Zeitler
John Greco

RT – 2
Shon Coleman
- Like Coleman a lot, but he stands on stilts with poor contact balance and uncoordinated movement skills. Strong/elite punch and it's over if he can get his hands on you.

Cameron Erving,- The all 22 from the Saints preseason game shows Ervings agility and sturdy anchor ableit there were 3 or 4 really bad moments that the common fan could point out, but they don't pay attention to the other plays.  No one really knows Cam's ability as they only have known him as a Browns center. In that way, he's not good, but his play at tackle at FSU made me have him as a top 3 tackle prospect heading into the draft. Coming out of FSU, Cam showed elite balance and kick step foot quickness as a tackle. Long arms and punch on the outside makes Cam a strong starter at tackle.

******(25 Offensive players on 53)******

DEFENSE

RDE - 2
Myles Garrett,
Nate Orchard - Had a rough rookie year and was injured his second. Before injury, he was our best against the run. His skills are slept on. I still think he can be a special role player in the 43.

DT - 3
Desmond Bryant,- Special athlete with elite length and hand punching strength. Might be a breakout player in 43.
Larry Ogunjobi,
Trevon Coley

NT – 3
Danny Shelton,
Caleb Brantley,
- His skill set at Florida was the double arm press, hold the blocker, Find the ball, Throw the Blocker off...Strong qualities as a NT in 43. Can win with quickness and strength as a 3-tech as well.

Jamie Meder

LDE- 2
Emmanuel Ogbah,
Carl Nassib

WLB – 2
Christian Kirksey,
Dominique Alexander

MLB – 2
Joe Schobert - Perfect fit in the 43 sam role with Gregg Williams being able to call parellel twists/blitzes for Collins and Schobert.
BJ Bello/Deon King/Ladell Fleming (1 of the three makes the last LB spot...If I had to choose I'd personally pick Fleming but I have a feeling it's going to be Bello)

SLB - 2
Jamie Collins,
James Burgess
- Watch his tape as well. He's also a special developmental impact player with elite instincts and athleticism to avoid guards in order to make TFLs.

CB – 5 b/c 6th Howard Wilson won't count against the 53 b/c they'll start him out on PUP
Joe Haden,
Briean Boddy-Calhoun,
Jason McCourty
Jamar Taylor

Darius Hillary.
Howard Wilson --On PUP to start out season

FS – 2
Derrick Kindred

Justin Currie if Ed Reynolds begins season on PUP or is cut due not being able to pick up quickly after the injur.

SS – 2
Jabrill Peppers,
Justin Currie;if Reynolds makes the 53...However if Reynolds doesn't or starts off on PuP they may go with Calvin Pryor due to his versatility and upside potential if it can be brought out of him. Or they can go with Currie and Kai Nacua as FSs and Kindred and Peppers as the versatile SS. Even in that Kindred and Peppers would both start with Currie being the first off the bench until Reynolds comes back.

*********(25 Defensie Players on the 53)******

SPECIAL TEAMS - 3
P – 1
Britton Colquitt

K – 1
Zane Gonzalez

LS – 1
Charley Hughlett

PR/KR
Ricardo Louis // Jabrill Peppers

Practice Squad - 10. 11th player b/c not all will make it through waivers
QB Kevin Hogan- probably won't make it through waivers....will end up on someone else's practice squad.Somehow someway we have to keep this guy on the roster. Has worked hard to change his delivery. Looks great and efficient now. Tremendous upside, athleticism, and intangibles for a developmental QB.

WR Jordan Payton--Might make it through to PS due to PED flag./ WR from another team

OL Roderick Johnson- Horrible contact balance and is always a waist bender. Would be better in a zone scheme under Kyle Shannahan. I don't think he has the body coordination or balance for the pros imo. Elite length. Where he was selected predicates that he probably makes the team.Trey Caldwell - Watch his college tape. Elite foot speed, competitive fire, and attacks the ball often going through the bigger/taller receiver to win the ball. I see him as a strong developmental starter. If healthy this year, his ability will shine.
OT Zach Sterup-Final practice Squad year. Might make it through to PS b/c of PED issue.
DE Tyrone Holmes,--Special burst and finishing ability. TFL specialist. Was not a 34OLB.

FS Kai Nacua

CB Trey Caldwell/CB Channing Stribling,
CB Najee Murray,
CB J.D. Harmon,

LB Ladell Fleming - Watch the tape. He's a special, special player. Game is very much like a an instinctual Jamie Collins but with more length. He adds special edge rush ability as well. Ability jumps off the screen. It will be too risky to cut him for the practice squad. Will have standout moments in camp and be seen as a developmental starter if the mental aspect of the game is not too much. Don't know the player in terms of work ethic. If it's there, he won't just make the team but he'll be inserted into the lineup as an edge or inside rusher in some sub packages.

LB Deon King- Better movement and instinctual skills than Dominique Alexander.

You're taking a one-legged Ed Reynolds over Kai Nacua?

That's next level haterism.

What is this I am experiencing? There is this...uncomfortable feeling...in my chest :(.  Meanwhile, Mind is oblivious, out drinking with his friends.

If Reynolds is out for a while, they might take the chance on Kai clearing waivers and seeing if Calvin Pryor can flash ability as the season goes on or until Reynolds gets back. It would work out for us if Reynolds started out on PUP so we could stash him away while further developing and seeing if Pryor or a young guy can do the thing.

LOL'ing at the idea of having to "stash" Ed Reynolds, but you're not wrong.

I know a lot of you will scoff at what I'm about to propose, but I don't think it's so far-fetched.... I wonder if Caleb Brantley is on the bubble and may be a roster casualty come the cuts. Think about it - if I said player _________ was a sixth round pick, was injured throughout a majority of training camp, and didn't flash much when he was practicing (to my knowledge), would you think it's unreasonable? I know a lot of you will say Brantley should have been a third round pick, but that simply wasn't the case - the Browns only invested a sixth on him, so the train of valuing him as a third rounder has left that station and you can only go off of what he has done to earn a spot while in training camp. I also believe we've done sooooo much talking-up of Brantley to boost the value of getting him in the 6th that our perception of what he brings to the NFL may have gotten skewed.

Lastly, you add in the emergence of Trevon Coley who everyone keeps saying looks like a starter and is positioned two levels ahead of Brantley on the depth chart right now, and I think you have the makings of surprise come final cut day. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen, but I don't think anyone can argue Brantley has been trending in the wrong direction.

I think we keep Brantley. They said he's definitely flashed.

I read he flashed back in June - but also looked like he didn't even belong on a roster. Then add in the fact that Coley looks like a starter consistently... I'm just saying considering he plays at probably the most competitive position on the team and it's always preached that the best ability is availability - it's worth discussion.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them keep only 5 LBers and have Peppers line up there in certain packages.  Opening up another spot for more depth at a different position.

Yeah I could see

Collins, Kirksey, Schobert, Carder, Alexander

and then I feel we could fit a backup easier on the practice squat at linebacker than we could s guy like Brantley.

Brantley just sets off my Spidey Sense when it comes to his spot on the team.  Its the whole work ethic thing.  Something just tells me that he will never be a high motor high effort guy.  I would not mind seeing us trade him before roster cut downs for either another player that could help in the secondary or at WR, or a future draft pick as his stock should have gone up since he was cleared from the off field issue.
