Mickens did well though. He is super cheap and played well at WR in spot duty

like i get it if mickens was below average last year but he wasnt. he was 5th in the League in PR average.

plus i think theres a bit extra Value when he punks the Punt coverage when they try to down kicks inside the 20

1 Punt Return in 1 Game  as a PR.

Mickens 1 Punt return in 2 games as a PR.

Both had 1 PR vs the Bills as i believe it was cuz Mickens got hurt.

Dede had like 4 fair catches against the Pats I think.

And I remember him being back there for two punts against the Steelers. I think he leveled Mike Hilton? On one to prevent him from downing it inside the 10.

i think Mickens is the guy who does that stuff to hilton.  the game log didnt include faircatches so i have 0 clue there outside of reading Play by Play but i think Mickens offers better returns and showed he can be a pretty effective WR when he got his chance.

Are we seriously in danger of cutting/dealing Dede/Mickens or someone? Hate to lose them already

i dont think we really are.

i think 2 QBs 4Backs(FB is included) 4 TEs 6 WRs 9 OL 10DL 6LB 9DB 3 Specialist something like that works.

I hope Lazard wins the spot. I like Mickens, but we have other guys similar to him. Lazard is another potential RZ option.

i think Special teams will factor into the spot and im not sure Lazard can really contribute to Special teams.

Mickens seems to be very effective On PRs.

If anything it should come down to Dede and Lazard. Dede doesnt do much on Special teams.

I dont like losing any of the 3. Make a way to have the stay. Lazard could stick on PS

thats my plan but i think u can find Big Possession WRs pretty much Anywhere.

you can see the trend in the NFL right now trending away from the Big Bodied WRs like jalen Strong, Auden Tate, Etc...

Actually feel the opposite. I think they probably plan on turning Lazard into a ST gunner similar to Kassim Osgood, while finding some use for him as a red-zone target. It sounds like the Jaguars made some promises to him to get him to sign here (won't sign another UDFA receiver, he'll be used as red-zone target), so if he does those things, I think Mickens might be in trouble simply because we don't have a receiver like Lazard on our roster right now, but Mickens kind of duplicates what the other smaller speedier receiver we already had.

We also brought back Wynn (another similar player), and both Lee/Chark can be PR guys for this team.

And stop. Dede's not getting cut for Mickens. Cmon now.

Its going to be Moncrief, Lee, Cole, Dede, Chark + 1 spot that Lazard, Mickens, Wynn, or someone unknown that impresses during camp.

We've talked a lot about "replacement" players, well Moncrief is on a 1 year deal and Lee is essentially on a 2 year deal. Dede may be a luxury this year, but he'll be needed as we get rid of these expensive older receivers.

Dede did almost nothing last year to prove hes even better then Mickens so he should get a free pass because he was a 4th round pick?  Coughlins cut an earlier pick after 2 years and Minimal Production.  Dede is Just an average Undersized WR.   we dont need a Big Bodied WR on our roster. it would be different we didnt have speed to go with the smallness but cant you tell the NFL is all about winning with Seperation and Bortles tends to struggle throwing to guys who dont seperate very well.  Lazard is one of those guys who doesnt seperate well and doesnt have the quickness to get off press coverage.  BIG WRS are a dying breed. they arent very popular in the NFL anymore as evidenced by Lazard and Tate falling in the draft.  Im not gonna put expectations on him. sure ill give him a chance to compete but hes gonna have to shine on Special teams as it would be fairly obvious when put him into the game specifically in the redzone knowing the ball is either gonna go to him or ASJ.

to try to turn and compare him into an All-pro gunner cuz hes a big WR who played special teams is Lazy.
