May I recommend Scott Turner to be the OC under Riley?

He's worked with Bridgewater & Cam. I'd rather roll with Dak one more year and draft Houston instead. If Dak fails, Riley can draft Kyler Murray next year.

Murray was the 9th overall pick for A's back in June. He's signed for $5m and both he and his agent have said its baseball moving forward.

I'd be indifferent on who'd be labeled as OC...we all know Riley would likely be the main play caller.

And like WH said...doubt Murray is going to be pursuing football as a career. Not to mention, as much as I like Oliver...if we're picking #1 and have a QB sitting there, you have to take him.

If JG doesnt get fired id rather go defense to build a great D to limit the other teams point totals. At this point it seems Dallas needs the 85 Bears or the 01 Ravens defense for this team to win games

This frickin sucks! Its still September and we are talking draft!!! Ugh!!!!!!

Okay, if we do bag JG and SL, lets PLEASE be smart and see what we can:

Trade for more picks

Cut to save cap space

Collect in FA.

Right out of the gate I would cut:

Lee- health issues

T. Smith- washed up

T. Williams- no contribution

Trade:

D. Lawrence for a 2nd.

C. Beasley for a 4th. (NE)

FA:

E. Thomas

Solid LT

Blue collar WR and TE.

Draft:

QB, DE, DT, WR, LB, OL.

Its as good as I got so far.

People you do know that if T Smith is washed up that LT will arguably be our biggest draft need. Lets hold off on that talk until it becomes evident.

Exactly. I rather shut him down for the year and see if surgery is an option.

I came very close to starting a Mock-Draft thread today. Decided against it.

Fun full round mock:

Frankly, if we draft a QB, I'd rather Colorado's Steven Montez.

Can't say I've watched him yet, but I'm going to start looking at QBs now that some YouTube clips are surfacing. From what I've seen of Haskins, it'd be a hell yeah from me though

No excuses. Smith has been:

Oft hurt or injured missing time.

Easily beat by a speed rush.

Forced to gold.

Does not get downfield to block anymore.

He is a liability. Time to go.

If you don't cut him, then trade him. Get what you can. But he is clearly on the backside of his career.

I'm not cutting an All Pro Left Tackle based on a three game sample, but that's just me.

Anyway, got my first look at Drew Lock tonight, and I'm impressed. He looks a lot better than he did as a junior. Much more accurate. Still has a ways to go, and I didn't get to see the Georgia game yet, but it's a good start for his senior year.
