2019 Draft Talk (Draft Order in OP)

I think the only WRs off the board by your guy’s picks might be Metcalf at 22 and Harry at 34. AJ Brown would be good value cause no way he gets past the Giants at 37. This is also the perfect draft to double dip WRs in the 2nd/3rd. Ridley, McLaurin, some quality guys should be there in the early 3rd.

I actually don't hate the double dip idea at receiver for us this year, but I think I'm generally the lowest on our receivers out of anyone in here, so that tracks

I think there would be more than that. I am certain you were thinking of me as one. :P Because I would be very disappointed. Just would not make sense to me. Too many bodies, too too many......

You're the immediate one, of course, because you've been the most outspoken. I don't think you'd be the only one though for sure. Honestly, if we go Williams, I expect armstead or Thomas gone the next day, possibly. Similar to Trent brown last year

I can't see us staying at #36 at all. We only have 6 picks and the 2nd and 3rd rounds will be full of WR, Secondary and IOL prospects all the way through. We should be looking at trading #36 for 2+3 at least, if not another pick in the 2020 draft. I would be rapt if we could get a low 2nd rounder and a 2020 2nd rounder. It would essentially be trading down in the 2nd round of a deep draft for Dee Ford.

I am on board with this. It makes a lot of sense. I think it's why we would love to move from #2 to #4/5/6/7 in the first

I will say though our MO has been to trade up to get 'our guy'. I have a hard time seeing us trade down in the second because I think these first two picks are going to be penciled in as immediate starters.

If a team wants to move up a few spots and give us a third? That is something we would do. I have a hard time seeing us move back the 10+ spots it would take to get the haul you are talking about.

It just hasn't been the way weve operated tbh

Anybody want to explain the logic in taking Quinnen Williams when the 49ers wouldn't even play Solomon Thomas at DT? You take a guy who is a pure interior d-lineman 3rd overall, try to make him an edge rusher, and it predictably flops...and then you take another interior d-lineman? Are they going to play Williams at Leo too?

Even if you think Willliams is a better prospect than Thomas was, it just looks ridiculous to take another 3 technique-type and then say, "oh, with HIM we'll put him inside next to Buckner."

We should have traded that #2 pick for OBJ, cant believe we did not pursue that trade at all.

Does John Lynch even know what a pick is? or a phone? or a facebook?

Lynch should not be a GM in this era, the time has passed him by.  He does not understand electronic communication and often makes trades by intimidation, other GM's are known to cower in fear as he hurtles towards them in a dead sprint.  It is good to have a feared GM but when his idea of communication is to etch words on stone and tie them to large birds of flight the time has passed them by.

I still think Bosa is the pick. If the cards take Bosa, it gets interesting. I think Williams is a phenomenal prospect. He would play the one tech in base, and rush the passer on passing situations from the interior with Buck. If you value interior pressure more than edge pressure, that would also make sense to go over Bosa.

Thomas is a sunk cost. He should not have any bearing on the selection
