but thay may decrease scoring across the board, so give the offense 13 as well

No dont be silly. Give the offense two balls. Either one can score and if both score on a play its starts a hotdog eating contest between coaches. Scoring coach gets a point for every hotdog they eat more than the other coach.

Don't like it. Takes away the potential for surprose onside kicks.

NFL needs to stop tinkering with the kickoff. Up next will be eliminating punt returns once removing kickoffs is successful.

If this happens will this game still be "foot"ball?  ;)

Its a super common practice in business. A lot of businesses that have an “artificial” limit on earnings for new people.

And if the Eagles want to limit how much they pay rookies great, but colluding with 31 other businesses who may or may not want the same limit is wrong.

And that is what the NFL does.

simple.

the team thats behind after a score always starts with the ball at the 20 yard line

would make for closer games too

In the event of a tie, the team that was on defense is now on offense?

Not the worst simple solution, but this one would REALLY change the sport.

how about they both play simultaneously at opposite ends of the field.

Keep in mind, the NFLPA (the union that represented the players) wanted it that way. They negotiated the rookie scale and draft.

So, two offenses and two defenses on the field? Team X could in theory score twice at the same time (pick six and a regular touchdown). Intriguing ...

Except the eagles run in a whole business of football. It runs closer to how McDonald’s have multiple franchises but its one business. If you look at it like individual businesses then literally everything they do is colluding and the nfl shouldn’t exist at all.

How about the teams line up against each other and ay bot defense and offense. Both sides get a ball but line up against each other. You try to get seperation but also have to gaurd the guy guarding you. Lets really mix this whole sport up.

i think that they should give out a ball to a random fan too. once per game, the fan could throw it on the field and it would count as a live fumble, that can be returned for a td. Would really spice up Home field advantage

I understand that and I am not gonna sidetrack this thread on the topic anymore than saying that.

Each McDonald's franchise is an individual business free to have its own pay scale. And NFL teams are individual businesses. Just saying.

Now back to kickoffs.....

Biggest diversion between American Football and its its English boarding school code predecessors was "we invented the forward pass because people were literally getting trampled to death" so I figure there's precedence.
