Can't see them rolling with only 3 safeties with how many big nickel packages we run on defense. Which makes the lack of new faces at safety this offseason all the more frustrating! Also think one of Hill and Gillislee makes the roster, Belichick definitely likes to have at least one bruiser on the roster.

I think Hill is a pretty fair bet for that. As much as I would like to see Dez light it up, I don't think he will be signed but I could see them adding one of the free agents cheap. I like Reid a lot, ever since LSU. Hopefully they come around on that one but there are a few others available too.

Yep, Reid or Vaccaro would fit the bill nicely.

RB (5) S.Michel, J.White, R.Burkhead, B.Bolden --- J Hill.  Bolden cut never leaves the building

DT (3) M.Brown, D.Shelton, A.Butler ---- Valentine .  Brown traded
ILB(2) K.VanNoy, E.Roberts ------ Ja’whaun Bentley.  Roberts traded to Lions for a 7th rd pick. He sucks
OLB(4) D.Hightower, D.Rivers, M.Flowers, C.Sam
CB (6) S.Gilmore, E.Rowe, J.Jones, J.McCourty, D.Dawson, C.Jones (PR)
SS (1) P.Chung

OL James Ferentz
LB Harvey Langi
CB Keion Crossen
QB Danny Etling
RB Ralph Webb
TE Shane Wimann

TE/HB/FB/ST-- Ryan Izzo

Surprise Cuts:

RB Mike Gillislee
RB Jeremy Hill
WR Kenny Britt   I not sure on this one. He has top end talent. Maybe motivated to play finally. He's scum but he could go the R Moss route with Brady.
WR Phillip Dorsett
DE Eric Lee
TE Dwayne Allen
S Jordan Richards (finally!)--- Holy crap, this is like winning a SB!!!!!!!

I see more than one player traded to the Lyons. Matt has to find players that know the system. Just like BP and BB did back in the day. I also see a new punter. Money a major factor.

The projected roster looks loaded. What I realized looking at this the 2019 offseason will be crazy because we will be in cap hell. There will be some difficult decisions to make McCourty for example with his big cap hit.

But back to this season. I think Gillislee and Hill will both get cut and Webb will be the 4th RB. At CB I think Crossen could surprise and make it.

The 2019 offseason will be a very, very difficult one.

Jason McCourty, Eric Rowe, Jonathon Jones, Shaq Mason, Chris Hogan, Trey Flowers, Malcolm Brown, Danny Shelton...then there’s the guys who are on one year deals (although they may not make the roster) in Matthews, Gillislee, Hill, Patterson, Britt, and Dorsett.

There’s going to be a lot more turnover than we’re used to, no way of getting out of that.

I agree. Just based on that Pats need all these 2019 draft picks and probably almost all of them will make the roster based on numbers alone. There will be also some surprising cuts.

In 2020 the Patriots will have a ton of caproom though.

I could see them using in Dawson in more of the role Chung's carved out for himself (and what they hoped Richards could be) opposed to strictly as a slot corner.

I will say, all there signings are like fringe roster guys/veterans, so it should make for an interesting T/C. WR position has a ton of players battling for a spot, secondary, RB, etc.

This makes the most sense to me.  I could see Karras getting bumped down to PS and Cyrus Jones as a CB.  I'm confident we'll give C Jones another year.

Hate to see Valentine and Butler not make the DT squad but, for whatever reason we have a surplus in average/above average DT talent.  We might see Valentine or Butler stick (4 DT's) and Bentley or Sam get pushed to the Practice Squad.  I really doubt Bentley or Sam will stick on the 53.  Maybe one...definitely not both.

Love that you included Hill in the RB corp.  We'll definitely be keeping one of the power RB's on the roster whether it's Hill, Gillislee, or Webb.

Also don't think that Berrios will make the cut.  I just can't see the hype on Berrios
