Still, adding Nelson was huge for Indy. I wouldn't expect that kind of turn around based on what will be available in the draft. We're not getting a top 5 talent at 18 along the OL. As long the offense can establish the run regularly, I think the OL will be a success. I think there's only so much we can do to help Cousins, he'll still be prone to his lapses in the pocket. Just have to hope there's fewer of them. Well, the right guy at 18 could be the next Randall McDaniel . . .picked at 19 if I remember correctly. That 10-20 range is where the best interior O-line get picked. Let's just hope they get a guy with an attitude, strength and some skill.
ArcticNorseman
As far as QBs go, Murray's more Manziel than Mayfield. I gotta believe he's using the NFL draft to bolster his capital in dealing with the A's. If the Vikes do draft a QB, Stick of course has winning records. Then, there's his main nemesis, Taryn Christion from SDSU who might turn a few heads during the draft process, or he might fail miserably. The final QB I watched a lot this year and absolutely love is Gardner Minshew. His attitude and football IQ are exactly what teams look for. the physical testing will be the determining factor as to whether or not he goes higher in the draft than say Rd 7 or 6. Ozzy
Vikings could be in trouble, there are a lot of teams that need OL help, not sold on Ford as a mid 1st rounder but OL needs will move him up the boards, curious if that happens to for Ivey, Herbig or McGovern maybe. The Texans, Vikings and Raiders all need OL help and they are from 18 down and many of the other ones will be picked ahead of that potentially by the Jaguars, Bengals, Falcons or Browns. So Little, Williams, Ford and Taylor will probably all be gone by 18 which sucks, could reach and get Risner though but if he is gone might have to wait till the 2nd round. And most the great DTs will be gone also, could maybe get Zach Allen which I would not mind at DE or Ferguson also. Could get a TE in Fant or Hockenson but both are slight reaches that high, with good combine works out that might not be the case though. 1. Arizona Cardinals - Nick Bosa Ohio State DE JR 2. If a good combine changes your opinion of a player that much, you’re doing it wrong... IMO. Combine is a checked box if it matches what you see on tape, or an unchecked box making you go back and re-evaluate given a new lense.

Combine is a checked box if it matches what you see on tape, or an unchecked box making you go back and re-evaluate given a new lense. It does not. But history tells that a good combine will move a player up or down either a few rounds or more likely a few draft selections. Thus having a Iowa TE, either one of them in the late 1st, last 5 picks... or being a Viking selection at 18 is a decent jump but a freak combine workout can easily happen. Fant runs a blazing 40 he could move up and if Hockenson works out athletically as good as he should he as well could move up from a early 2nd or late 1st to mid 1st rounder Of course a combine allows one to feel comfortable with a highly rated player or questions that high ranking. But at other times is BS like Orlando Brown Jr last year, everyone making fun of the kid for how bad his combine was, when as a rookie this year he was a 10 game starter. That is expected as a 1st rounder which I thought he was, very unexpected as a 3rd rounder which is where he fell to. So just saying a promising athletic TE could be a possibility for the Vikings if the OL and DT top guys are not available which sadly could be the case. perrynoid
Interesting to see who mock draft sites have us picking in round 1 this year: Jonah Williams (Daniel Jeremiah, Walter Football), Dalton Risner (CBS Sports), Christian Wilkins (Draft Tek), Greg LIttle (Newsday), Tyler Biadasz (Mockout), Yodny Cajuste (Bleacher Report, Chat Sports), Cody Ford (Tankathon). Only one non-OL in that group (Wilkins). It will be interesting to see who they actually draft, and how much we whine about the eventual selection lol. Biadasz did not declared for the draft, would be a great pickup at center but that is not possibly this year. Wilkins I would not mind at all if there was no other good OL around and DT is a need, even better would be if Lawrence falls for a stupid reason that would be great. I am not a huge Cody Ford fan that high but might have to if they want OL help and he is the best there. Cajuste is good but is a walking injury at times, doubt he is a 1st rounder. Jonah Williams could fall because of his poor play of late, would love to have him and same with Little. Really any OL talent it is just a must to select unless they go all out in free agency. PS Pay Trenton Brown I would love that as well.
