QB's usually rank higher then most (not all) Defensive players. Only QB you listed better, is Rodgers who missed 1/2 the season. So yes.

Since the vast majority of the players voting were voting based off "their play in 2017" it shouldn't be hard to understand. One was a legit MVP candidate the other Not. This isn't a lifetime achievement award!

Players who get hyped out of college, start slow in the NFL, but then take leaps a few years in, tend to be forgotten about.

Dude dominated and he missed all of the offseason, Week 1, and had to work himself into football shape. Not to mention transitioning to a 3-4 scheme. Like the dude is a beast and being ranked 7th is tragic.
Pugger
What exactly are the players rating here? What a player did in 2017 or what they predict how the player will do in 2018?

It seems that various players read it differently. Some see it as a player's performance from last season whereas others see it as what a player has done over a career. For example Alex Smith didn't make the Top 100 this year, despite having a better season than the one before, because it feels as though the players are judging his career, not his season and still see him as "Game Manager" Alex Smith who dinks and dunks the ball down the field and isn't a top QB. On the other hand, Case Keenum who had his best season probably ever getting to the NFC Championship game, being ranked within the Top 60 with the players giving him credit for it. It's always been inconsistent, but that's why NFLN does it, to provide an offseason discussion.
