Sam Darnold vs Colt’s 2018 Draft class

Recommended Posts

As we are all aware, over a month before the draft the Colts and Jets shocked the NFL with a trade that came about right as the free agency period was about to hit a lull.

Jets traded the 6th overall pick, 2 second round picks (37 and 49) and a 2nd rounder in 2019 to the Colts for the 3rd overall pick

We now have names to all of those players except for the 2019 pick.

The Colts essentially traded QB Sam Darnold to the Jets for G Quenton Nelson, G Braden Smith and TE Dallas Goedert and a 2019 2nd rd Pick

The Colts then traded (2/49) Dallas Goedert to the Eagles for (2/52) DE Kemoko Turay and (6/169) HB Jordan Wilkins.

It will be interesting to look back at this 3-4 years down the road and see how this trade holds up.

When the trade was first made many people were calling this a fleecing by the Colts, however with Darnold falling to the 3rd Pick a lot of people changed their tune and now feel like the trade is a wash or even fell in the Jets favor.
