Raiders sign former Chiefs MLB Derrick Johnson

Recommended Posts

He's 36 this year but still a decent add for their defense.

I think this is a good pick up. He's been underrated his whole career. Why not now?

Jordy Nelson, whether it's outside or inside

Maybe Leon Hall if you want to count NB as a starter, which it damn near has been for a few years now, for most teams

Also, since he was a pretty old rookie, Bruce Irvin is actually already 30

I'd be extremely surprised if he makes the 53 tbh. Conley, Melvin, Wormley, Nelson and maybe Wright should all be ahead of him right now. I think it will be similar to why we signed Josh Johnson at QB. We need players who are familiar with the schemes and coaches, so they can help mentor coach up everyone else. They will be extremely useful in PS and TC, but ultimately will be shown the door come regular season.

Kurt Warner is talking about a possible comeback. Jon Gruden likes the moxie of this young go-getter and will see if he can develop him.
