This is just hype in May, but it would be great if we pulled another Favre deal. Especially when we got him for basically nothing.

We didn't get him for nothing.

We traded a starting CB for him and what equaled roughly to a high 5th round pick.

A starting cornerback that would make our safety position look a LOT better right now if that's how Pettine had decided to use him.

As far as Kizer, he could throw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions in each of his preseason games and we still wouldn't get a thing out of him thanks to Hundley.  He could back up Rodgers in a meaningless game and throw for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions and we might get a 5th round pick for him thanks to Matt Flynn.

Only way we would get anything close to a 3rd round pick for him would be if he started a meaningful game against a decent team and won while looking good doing it, and even then we probably wouldn't get much for him.

Garroppolo won two games with a 3 TD game and only went for a second round pick a year later.

Correct, the Packers gave up a  nice asset for him.

But, you didn't tell the whole story... The Packers also significantly moved in the 4th and 5th rounds, and picked up a player with two extra years of team control ( Kizer 2nd yr, Randall 4th year)... That's a lot of value you ignored.

He said "and what equaled roughly to a high 5th round pick. " How did he ignore the trade up part?

We're talking about Damarious Randall who it was rumored the players didn't want him on the roster. Remember we gave up a 1st round pick for Favre and he was, in many ways worse than Kizer his rookie year. There were no reports of Kizer boozing it up and showing up late for meetings, if at all. Favre was a train wreck in Altanta. He grew up in Green Bay.

Kizer has to mature in a different way, but you have to like a guy with a big arm. A year or two behind Aaron and you never know what he could turn into. Rodgers would not be the QB he is today if he had to play in his first two years. When he did he was brutal.

Well ****, if being terrible as a rookie and sitting behind a veteran is guaranteed to produce a good QB, you've cracked this thing for sure.

Randall a starting CB for the 2017 Packers under the previous GM/DC?

That much is true.

But Randall certainly was NOT going to be a starting CB for Gute/Pettine in 2018.

And he certainly was NOT even going to be a member of the Packer's team under newly empowered head coach Mike McCarthy.

Oh, and Randall is not going to be a starting CB in 2018 for the team the Packers traded him to either.

Even the Browns realized Randall was miscast as a CB.

Don't be an idiot! At no point did I state anything close to that. The kid has the measurables you look for in a QB.

There is every reason to believe that Randall would be a better slot CB this year than a rookie Jaire Alexander. There is every reason to believe that Damarious Randall would be a better safety this year than Kentrell Brice/Josh Jones. Purely in terms of ability, it is entirely correct to label Randall a "starting caliber" player on this football team in 2018.

I don't know how anyone views jettisoning Randall for fighting with Capers and the Defensive Staff, jettisoning the defensive staff, and then bringing in a worse locker room guy (and a guy who has played worse in the last two years at a less needed position) in Wilkerson as a logical development. It's hard for me to look at that situation and think anything other than that McCarthy got his feelings hurt.

Even if Randall isn't playing in the slot, and the slot CB spot is a mix of Safety and boundary CB, do you think this team is any any position to be sticking their nose up at a solid safety prospect with upside?

Well that's freaking fabulous. So does everybody in the NFL. QB isn't a measurable position.

Kizer threw an INT in 15 of his 23 of his college starts.

He threw an INT in 13 of his 15 NFL starts.

Dude just throws a **** ton of interceptions.

How many games did Wilk leave before halftime?

How many games was Randall suspended by the team for not showing up to practices?
