Take a closer look - almost all of his work happens when teams are laying off - garbage time accounted for all of his TD's, and even in the WAS comeback game, WAS's D was in prevent mode - and Fleener's 5 catches all came then. He's a guy who can't block, won't block, and doesn't separate. He doesn't run great routes, and he's not a ballfighter. He gets open when D's are in zone, or worse, full prevent. When he's in the game, you can't run to his side, so the D knows to cheat the other way for run, or just play pass. And all of that is before we discuss the concussion risk. Even at vet-min, he's probably a lost cause. A team who needs a move TE (DAL?) makes the most sense, but even then, I agree that Mercedes Lewis would be a far better target. We’re nearing 7 months from the injury and he still isn’t cleared. That’s nearing the point that you wonder if the guy will ever get back to normal.
