Wow, that's scary. Best to call it quits with issues like that.

Minimum 6 months on blood thinners and no weight training led to the 40 lb weight loss.   To get waived now suggests he likely either has a clotting disorder that requires ongoing blood thinners or he experienced a new clot.    Career ending in both cases.  Hopefully he doesn’t have a more serious condition and can lead a normal life.

Myth: New England is really good at drafting.

They’re about average overall but definitely above average in the first round.

In the past thirty years, they’ve only really whiffed a handful of times. 1992: Eugene Chung. 1997: Chris Canty. 1998: Tebucky Jones. 2014: Dominique Easley.

There were several mediocre players drafted over twenty years ago with injuries derailing the their time on the Patriots. In general however, I trust their first round selections will do well.

On a per pick basis absolutely.

But BB doesn’t ever reach and instead accumulates value.   And drafts well enough to usually have a cheap replacement to let expensive 2nd contract guys walk.  And get more picks by trade or by comp picks.    It doesn’t always work out (Chandler Jones) but the formula really keeps them cap healthy in contention even without factoring in the Brady discount (which absolutely matters but by itself wouldn’t be enough to sustain this level of cap health and contention).

NE & BB are so good at giving themselves extra shots it creates the illusion their percentages are a lot better.   Their ability to gain value is pretty special though given their commitment to not overpay or reach for draft picks and to turn guys in their last year into more draft capital.

It is surprising though that they would draft Sony Michel in the 1st. Doesn't seem like a NE move.

Can a mod give this poster a warning? Pathetic.

Seriously?? Dude, don't go in the Browns forum if this offends your delicate sensibilities. What's your bedtime, Sally?

It was funny. Good on him. Laughter makes the world a brighter place.

Making fun of blood clots in a player's lungs, a condition that is likely ending his career? Nah, not that funny. It's trolling and therefore against board policy. Mods have always been pretty strictly against posts like that, especially in a forum like NFL News. Team boards are often more lenient depending on the team board mod, which I'm cool with.

And I'm not offended by stupidity, which is a common theme in that person's posts.
