Teams to change 'location' names?

Recommended Posts

Cardinals use to be the Phoenix Cardinals.

Marlins use to be the Florida Marlins.

One did it to broaden their fan base and one to closer represent the city they are located (I think).

Do you think, or wish any other teams would make a change in any way?

Or some you would just like to see...

Maybe the Boston Patriots?  ?

You'll probably see it more in the coming years as the backlash on stadium funding grows. With the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the city of LA wasn't going to bend over backwards for a stadium, but the team didn't have any real desire to leave such a huge market, so they went 1 county over and tried to pit them against each other. It worked, sadly, so they tweaked the name.
