However we're getting to the point where ES6 had better have a new engine or Bethesda has a serious problem. I have to think that Starfield or whatever it's called will launch a new engine, and they will go forward with that. After playing RDR2 there isn't much of an excuse anymore for Bethesda There'd be no better time than Starfield to implement a new Engine. New IP and next Gen Console. Not to mention it allows them to test what they can do before going full force into ES6. If Bethesda isn't a cheapskate scumbag company. This will be the last game running on the current engine.

I get that they have an insane amount of stuff to do for each Fallout, and more so for ES, but it is in desperate need of an overhaul. BobbyPhil1781
I know it's not a finished product but I'm amazed at the amount of people already pooing on it. If this is a bomb, hopefully that means the next single player installment gets pushed to the forefront to make up for it Edited November 9, 2018 by JTagg7754

As long as they're making money, which they will. This game at least by their standards was low effort and will still net a sizable return. I've been watching people on Twitch and they can't stand it. I mean, it looks fun to me but I'm easily entertained.

I believe that Bethesda has come out and said that Starfield and Elder Scrolls won't be on a new engine. Which sucks, since I think that they need a new engine to make the games feel like a new experience. Everything that they put out is starting to feel too familiar, with the same animations and art style.

If so, how is that possible to still run an engine used in a 2007 game in 2021+

Spartacus
Play it with my friends. There is fun to be had but I just dont understand the point of this. It's like what I would expect out of a great fallout mod not a standalone game. There just is really no good reason to play it. No end game content to work towards, pvp is poop, no raids or bosses that require thinking or interacting in interesting ways with teamates. Also classic Bethesda bugs and an old outdated playstyle it's just so so meh. Not worth $60.00 to anyone who isn't a huge fallout fan boy. I keep asking myself what the developers could have been working on instead of this. Although I will say the environment is the best it's ever been. That's about the only good thing I can say. There are better multiplayer sandboxes, better fallout games, and better RPGs. I just don't see a reason for this to exist.

And since it's an "ongoing" thing they can say this gives people their fallout fix like ESO gives people their elder scrolls fix. 😒
