For the record he started all 16 his rookie year. Last two years he's had the same foot injury though and missed 11 games.

Could have sworn his rookie season was short too.

My goodness why trade up for him (bad trade then, even worse now) to just dump him for a 2nd and an ok slot guy hoping to bounce back from an injury.

Well everything evens out. We turned a 2nd round draft choice. Into a 3rd round pick and a really good #2 WR. And you gotta remember Beane was not the GM to trade up for Sammu

These trades seperately look bad. But when together it makes ton of sense. Adding more productive players as Matthews and Gaines have been more productive than Watkins and Darby. Adding more production helps the current team. The downside is less potential. But we added a 2nd round and a 3rd round pick for future teams. And now we have 2 1st, 2 2nds, and 2 3rds. 6 picks in the first two days. And we may even end up with a comp 3rd round pick.

Wouldnt ca Darby upcoming. Just the opposite. He was a star as a rookie and completely fell off last year.

If I had a need at CB like the Eagles do, a 3rd round pick seems a decent assett to bet coaching can help put him back on track.

I dunno, given that injury history. It's scary to push all in on a guy who has shown no ability to stay healthy.

He's had a lot of games where he has played while he's been injured and not made much of an impact as well. After three years of Sammy I'm totally okay with letting him go and not investing the resources or expectations on him. I have nothing against him as a player and when he is healthy he is a special player but you just can't rely on him. I would be extremely hesitant on giving him a longer term deal, he just seems too fragile for that kind of investment. He was also talking about getting paid this offseason so I can't imagine any team is going to get him on the cheap.

I agree. I'm of the opinion that our secondaries woes were mostly coaching. A man coverage specialist in Jim Schwartz should be a great fit. I don't dislike the trade from the Bills perspective but I think that the Eagles are going to have a great corner for that defense.

Good god, what Ronald Darby are we talking about ? He was really awful last season.

I'm 100% good with these moves. Gaines and Darby at very least is a wash imo and than essentially Matthews a potential high 2nd and a 3rd for Sammy Watkins is not bad value.

We picked up a high character WR who has been productive, healthy, and excels in route running. Our cap situation down the road will be good and we're guaranteed ourselves a QB of our choosing IF Tyrod fails. We actually have alot of long term equity after this deal and I don't see us worse off this season.

We deserve it. Just don't remind me of Cooper Kupp, please.

Every training camp report: "Cooper Kupp looks amazing. He runs great routes, gets consistent separation, and catches just about everything."

Chris: "But he was an old prospect. Who cares how good he is?!?!?!?!?!"

I really like this trade. Watkins needs to stay healthy, but we needed a deep threat. Watkins is one of the best in football. Watkins will fill the DeSean role. Woods will fill the Garcon role. Kupp will fill the Crowder role. For the first time in a long time, we have a quality WR corp.

So it seems like Buffalo has already given up on this season. Which seems odd. But McDermott should be able to suck this year and keep his job.

This is very dramatic. Watkins when healthy is a terrific deep threat but Tyrod has horrible down field accuracy so we're emphasizing short to intermediate routes which fits Jordan Matthews role assuming he'll line up alot in the slot.

I see Darby and Gaines as a wash so the potential production level isn't as far off as the talent level would indicate
