Why does Gruden love veteran players so much? I can't remember a time when more veteran players were signed in one off-season

This has been covered. Because he runs systems that are complex and young players are limited in that, thus limiting Gruden.

Where has this been covered?

As Ghost mentioned, his schemes are intense and he demands near perfection. Thus he has signed a lot of players he and his staff are very familiar with. This will get everyone caught up to speed as quickly as possible, then likely shipped off once the younger guys have a grasp of the playbook.

Some of the guys mentioned above have already been cut.

simple... COMPETITION... no everyone will make roster, but guys who are lucky to be In the league won't make a gruden team. a former starter provides better depth then a scholarship player.. a new coach, so expect turnover the first year, and for everyone to earn their spot

did you just start a thread to make a list and then answer your own question?
