QB: Rodgers, Kizer

RB: Williams, Jones (suspended), Montgomery, Ripkowski

WR: Adams, Cobb, Allison, Moore, St. Brown, Valdez-Scantling, Kumerow

TE: Graham, Lewis, Kendricks

OL: Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, McCray, Bulaga, Patrick (1st off bench),  Spriggs, Bell, Pankey

DL: Wilkerson, Clark, Daniels, Adams, Lowry

LB: Mathews, Martinez, Perry, Burks, Morrison, Gilbert, Biegel

CB: Williams, King, Alexander, Jackson, House, Waters

S: Clinton-Dix, Jones, Brice,

ST: Crosby, Scott, Bradley

Practice Squad: QB Boyle, IOL Day, DL Looney, LB Greer, LB Donnerson, S Greene

I would say the pro scouts better be looking to add a RB, 2 LB, and a S that gets cut elsewhere as well.

First time I’ve ever thought that they needed to go through the scrap heap of other teams HARD.

Nice list, thx.
You'd rather bet on the scrap-heap options over Whitehead, Evans, Rollins ?
Looking for vet smarts ? Better ST athletes ? FS potential with HaHa in final year ?

Whenever I feel a position is weak I get the urge to add as many possibilities there as possible. Whitehead and Evans are both ST guys. Putting them out for defense sounds like a liability. Rollins is dead to me--we can find someone for half the salary with a brighter future. Brice hasn't been able to stay healthy. Jones needs to use that athletic ability to be in better position in all situations. I want a backstop for the position.

If I couldn't find a player worth defensive snaps I'd keep Evans, the Milwaukee kid who has been good on ST.

Without doing an actual count there's no way this is a 53 man roster. You have only 7 LBs, 9 DBs and 5 DL, that's 21 defensive players, usually you end up with 25 and 25 with 3 specialists.

I think it is his "locks" or maybe best 49 of 53.  Those positions you noted are where upgrades over the current options are needed.

@ChaRisMa am I close?

It's not. It's 49/50. Like I said, I want to go to the trash pile after cuts and get another RB (for two weeks before Jones returns), a pass rushing OLB, a coverage ILB, and a veteran S. I can realistically see us adding 3 or 4 players from other rosters, which is a high number for us.

I can see maybe 1-2. I think they like Thomas a lot as the coverage LB, as well as Burks. I don't think they're concerned carrying 2 backs for 2 weeks. There will be a guy on the PS who we can promote should anyone get hurt week 1. There are plenty of vets at S without a job, if they wanted one we'd have one.

I think they'll check the EDGE cuts and OL cuts very closely, but that's it.

Is there a decent S out there?

Reid, like it or not, is near radioactive because of his controversial stance.

Tyvon Branch coming off injury.

I’m not sure the market has anything there right now.

I think you probably have 50 right - add 1 more RB, 1 less WR, and either Rollins doesn't make the team or they get rid of 1 of the mediocre QB's. Maybe 1 LB short.

The 1 more RB is Jones, who's on the suspension list. I've thought about keeping a 3rd RB for those two weeks, but I'm not sure they earned it.

For the 1 less WR, that's hard for me, because I think 7 have played well enough to earn a spot over the last player at a couple of other spots.

I have no clue who the 6th CB is going to be... but right now I'm going with Rollins because his versatility. Waters or Hawkins might have more long term potential and Goodson or S Evans might be better on STs, but I've only heard of one of these 6th CB guys being worked at CB, nickel, dime and Safety positions and that's Rollins.

Between OLB, ILB and S... MM has normally kept 14 players. In a 3-4, Pettine has normally kept 12. So keeping 13 I feel is right... though I'm not sure who misses between the last couple of guys.

My one change I'd make to the 53 would be cutting Bell and keeping Pankey right now.

I thought this was evident in the 3rd PS game. Both gave up some ground on bull rushes, but Pankey plays with light feet and can fill in at RT.  Last night he looked much better than 68.  He can also get to the 2nd level and engage in those blocks.  Bell can't do either.  He was really plodding along.

First one I'm posting here

Have never had Spriggs on my final 53 in any of my attempts.  Despite Murphy being awful and Spriggs maybe having his best outing in PS, not going to overreact.  Always had our 4th ILB be TBD as well, so Antonio Morrison filled that roll.

Bouagnon on the 53 for 2 weeks till Jones's suspension is over.  Thinking there is he is best in pass pro if we end up needing him.  Hopefully won't whiff on a block and can get the ball 5 times up the middle for 10 yards and nothing more.

I wonder if we'll keep 3 QBs and if Boyle would make it thru waivers to our PS.   My heart is hoping Sheehy makes our PS.
