He's not Marshon Lattimore, but he's still a damn good prospect. Yes, his lack of height is going to give him issues against bigger receivers. He's not afraid to mix it up with them fortunately. MSURacerDT55
Its rare that you get a guy who covers as well as Ward does and is a vicious a tackler as he is at his size, the last Buckeye I saw like that was Antoine Winfield
VanS
I'll have to watch some film on Antonie Winfield to see if this comp is legit.

No. Winfield was the best run defending corner maybe ever. Ward is just solid at it. Plus Winfield was not the athlete that Ward is. The comparison is not legitimate in my opinion. I have no questions that Ward can tackle well enough to consider it a strength, but I've also seen him pile watch and show poor hustle to get to the ball carrier. Comparing him to the best run defense corner ever is a little wild.

Dude was among the league leaders in tackles in college and the pros...as a CB. Shout out to the other poster for the old school comparison though. goldfishwars
Might lack stardust at the top, but this is still a very deep class. Teams can find their 2nd, 3rd, 4th corner throughout this draft.

Its all good, But If you notice, I didn't directly compare him to Winfield, I just dropped his name because of the violence he plays with at that position and his willingness to get his nose dirty. 19 hours ago, MSURacerDT55 said: Its rare that you get a guy who covers as well as Ward does and is a vicious a tackler as he is at his size, the last Buckeye I saw like that was Antoine Winfield
brownie man
I really like Tony Brown as a slot nickel playmaker maybe not a starter but I think he'd be a weapon as a number 4-5 corner and star special teamer Who are the best outside zone corners for a team who primarily runs cover 3? Just look for the best tacklers among the CB group , slightly slower guys who can simply tackle! Carlton Davis is probably the best or if you put Fitzpatrick at CB, he would be the best!
